Sierra View District Hospital Emergency Department Graduation, With Distinction 2004 Quinnipiac University Award for Academic Excellence, Valedictorian 1999 Paramedic Education University of California, Los Angeles / Daniel Freeman Hospital What do you feel makes you uniquely qualified to serve in the position for which you seek election? I have had the pleasure of serving SEMPA in multiple capacities. In 2003, I served as the first Student Director-at-Large on the Board. Last year I was appointed to the SEMPA Education Committee, which is largely responsible for the annual SEMPA Emergency Medicine Conference. I have also served in various leadership positions within the hospital and our national emergency medicine group. If elected, my familiarity with the organization will make it a smooth transition. What do you see as the most important issues facing our profession and how would you respond to these issues as a SEMPA Board member? An important issue facing our profession is the education of EM PAs. All PAs are not created equal and many folks practice in different environments. SEMPA can meet the needs of the membership by providing this service. We already offer an excellent conference designed for EM PAs but the possibilities are endless. I also see us working with our partner organization, ACEP, in meeting the educational needs of the membership.
