Contributions support our independent research and policy work. Contributions can also be directed to support training and workforce development efforts.
Our Mission The Eno Center for Transportation s mission is to seek continuous improvement in transportation and its public and private leadership in order to increase the system s mobility, safety and sustainability. About Eno Eno was founded in 1921 by William Phelps Eno, who promoted safe mobility by ensuring that traffic control became an accepted role of government and traffic engineering a recognized professional discipline. Eno works across all modes of transportation, with the mission of cultivating creative and visionary leadership for the sector. We pursue this mission by supporting activities in our Center for Transportation Policy (CTP) and our Center for Transportation Leadership (CTL). Eno is a non- profit charitable foundation, recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3). About half of Eno s work is supported by its endowment; the remainder is supported by tuition and fees, contracts, and publication sales. In order to make the best use of its resources, Eno often works in partnership with government agencies, professional organizations, and other private organizations. P3 Working Group The Eno P3 working group brings together political leaders, investment professionals, stakeholders and researchers. It oversees Eno staff research on P3 s and provides input that ensures our policy recommendations have value across a large spectrum of political viewpoints. NextGen Working Group The project brings together individuals from the aviation, academia, government, and the larger business community. Through targeted research on NextGen and discussion of outstanding issues, we can provide specific strategies, policy recommendations, and implementable ideas for action that could make substantial, transformative progress in this area. Freight Funding Working Group This group will bring together truckers, railroads, ports, and shippers to discuss how we might develop a specific proposal for funding a multimodal freight program. This group will assemble and update existing data and analysis on the issue to inform decision- making and build consensus around a specific proposal. The group can then work to present the proposal to Congress and the Administration as they continue to discuss the surface transportation authorization bill. Center for Transportation Leadership Eno conducts training s each year to build the skill set of transportation professionals. Courses are offered for multiple modes of transportation, and varying levels along the career path. Eno s Leadership Development Conference brings twenty of the brightest transportation graduate students nationally for a weeklong program. Courses are offered for mid- career and senior executives in the public transit sector. Other s are offered in P3s and aviation. CTL also undertakes research and consulting on the state of the transportation workforce, staffing issues, and organizational change.
