OFFICIAL INVITATION FOR TEAMS LOCATION Myriam-Bédard Biathlon Centre ASU VALCARTIER The Myriam-Bédard Biathlon Centre (MBBC) is located within the recreational area of the Valcartier military garrison. Only 29 km separates downtown Quebec City from the garrison. The course map to be used for the competitions will be available upon competitors arrival at the venue. The complete course may be seen on the Club Biathlon Courcelette s website at www.biathloncourcelette.com. See attached map at the end of this document. Lowest point on the course Highest point on the course 173 m 286 m Access to Valcartier Garrison To access the Valcartier Garrison, from the Trans-Canada (Highway 20), the Pierre-Laporte Bridge must be taken, followed by highways 73 North, 573 North and 369 North. From the Jean- Lesage International Airport, the attached map provides directions to Valcartier. To change class, please refer to the Biathlon North America Hosting Policy, November 2014. A competitor shall not be upgraded to more than one class. Competitors may compete only if they are a legitimate member of Biathlon Canada or the United States Biathlon Association (USBA) or have subscribed to a one-day pass. Québec Cup: to participate in the Quebec Cup, any competitor from the Quebec Division must be a member of Biathlon Canada or have subscribed to a one-day pass. He must also be in order with the application of the Firearms Act if he uses a small-bore rifle (.22 caliber). 3/8

ACBQ Competitive Classes competitors may accumulate Quebec Cup points for their standing at this event. Medals Medals of the North American Cup will be awarded to the top three athletes from each open categories for the North American Cup. Quebec Cup medals will be awarded to the top three athletes from each other open category. Protest Protests must be submitted in writing to the Competition Secretary, in accordance with the IBU Event and Competition Rules. A $25 deposit will be requested. The deposit will be returned if the protest is not upheld by the Competition Jury. The Protest forms are available from the Competition Office. Remarks The Organizing Committee may modify the starting time due to weather conditions. If there is cancellation on the day of the event, there will be no refund to cover expenses. Air Rifle Classes: the competitor does not carry the rifle during the competition. All shooting is performed in the prone position. Senior Boys and Girls Classes: athletes will not carry a.22 caliber rifle during the competition, but will take possession at the entrance of the shooting range and leave it on the rack at the exit of the range, according to the Biathlon Canada Policy. The same policy will apply to athletes in the Master classes who will not carry the rifle. Registration Registration to this event must be carried out online with Zone 4, through the ACBQ website at (www.acbq.net). The site describes the detailed procedure to be followed. Order of start and start time for each competition The starting order of the different classes will vary with distances, the number of registered competitors and trail conditions. The event's Competition Committee will set with the TD the starting order of the participating classes. The start time of each class will be sent to Divisions on Wednesday, January 14 th. If the venue is not able to hold the event, the Divisions will be notified by the Organizing Committee on Wednesday, January 14, 2015. Free parking space. Target system The Myriam-Bedard Centre is equipped with 30 brand new Devon mechanical targets. 6/8

Course and Stadium The biathlon course includes a 4 km, 3.3 km, 3 km, 2.5 km, 2 km and 1 km trails, with a 1.4 km warm-up loop. Please find course maps, stadium description and information at www.biathloncourcelette.com Wax Cabins Wax cabins will be available on the venue. All waxing must be performed inside the allocated cabin. The cabin key will be available from the Competition Office located on the second floor of the main building. A $20 deposit will be requested for each key. The deposit will be returned when the key is brought back to the Competition Office, following the cabin inspection. Import of rifles and ammunition Competitors may import rifles and ammunition to Canada provided they declare these items upon crossing the border to the Canada Customs Officer. Athletes who bring firearms into Canada must therefore complete a copy of the Non-Resident Firearm Declaration. The form must be provide to the Canada Border Services Agency (or to a customs officer) upon entry into Canada.
