SITE REQUIREMENTS & PREPARATION 1. Required site conditions: Minimum pipe diameter of 4 inches. Chlorinated drinking water in steel pipes. 0 145 psi is the operational pressure range. Maximum peak pressure is 435 psi. Water temperature range of 32 104 F. Minimum water velocity of 0.1 ft/sec. 2G cellular network signal. Sensor must be wet before being connected to the Wavelet. If the sensor is installed in intermittent water flow (turning on/off), its lifetime will be drastically decreased. 2
2. Prepare the site: SITE PREPARATION Prepare 2 NPT ball valve that is fixed perpendicular to the pipe surface and 45 to the ground. The maximum height from the interior of the pipe to the top of the ball valve is 6 inches. Ball Valve 90 45 Max. 6 Height To avoid turbulence and air bubbles, install ball valve as close to the middle of the pipe span and as far from pipe bends or equipment as possible. pump After fixing the ball valve to the pipe, ensure that the internal diameter of the hole punched for installation of the sensor is at least 1.7 inches. 1.7 diameter for insertion of water quality sensor 2 ball valve 4 diameter pipe 3

ON OFF 3 Wrap thread seal tape onto the pipe fitting, and screw it tightly into the valve with the pipe wrench. 4 Put the gasket onto the neck of the sensor. 8
ON OFF 5 While the valve is closed, thread the sensor into the pipe fitting up to ¼ BELOW the white stripe marking on the sensor.! CAUTION: Be careful not to apply too much force with the wrench. Going beyond the bottom of the white line will irreversibly BREAK the sensor. 1/4 clearance below white stripe 9
6 Open valve completely. Water will spray, which can be mitigated by holding a towel around the base of the sensor connection to the pipe fitting. ON OFF 7 Thread the sensor all the way until the gasket is sealed to prevent water leakage. ON OFF 10
WAVELET ACTIVATION 8 Connect cable to the Wavelet. Screw until tightly fastened. 9 Remove cap from top of sensor. Connect opposite end of cable to the sensor. B A ON OFF 11
10 Remove screws to open the back panel of the Wavelet device. Activate the Wavelet by sliding the switch to the ON position. Wavelet will then initiate a 20 minute online test mode.
