BOAT REGISTRATION FORM 2015 SA Wooden Boat Festival Important Information Moorings to ensure the safest and most effective mooring for all participants, we will have marshalls in rubber duckies engaged to act as tug boats for mooring assistance. Mooring locations will be determined by type and size of boats, with safety of participants and their boats of highest priority. Safe and easy mooring is paramount for the Festival. It is proposed that mooring will generally be Mediterranean style (stern to or bow to) subject to boat access. If stern or bow access is not available on your boat please advise us. Your boat safety is important to us and weather and boat wash are key considerations in our mooring plans. Limited Spaces there is limited capacity of boats in each class that can be accommodated on land and on water. All registrations will be evaluated and payments will be processed once participation is confirmed. To give you the best chance for involvement, please ensure your registration form reaches us by 31 October 2014. Please include good quality photographs and clear details of your boat to accompany your registration. Insurance all participants must provide a copy of their boat insurance certificate of currency to the event organisers with their completed registration forms. For boats that are not insured, a special event insurance arrangement for competitors has been organised contact boats@jenniebellink.com.au for more details on boat insurance all boats must hold current insurance policies to participate. BOTE COTE EPOXY SYSTEMS ROUGH AND READY Two people per team. Construct a boat from materials provided on Saturday and sail (or sink) on Sunday. Limited numbers first in best dressed. Crew member 1 name & age (over 18 years) Crew member 2 name & age (under 18 years) Permission & name of guardian (if under 18 years) All building will be on Saturday, with the parade and race on Sunday. The Rough and Ready will be limited to 15 teams with a maximum of one entry per team to allow as many as possible to have a go. Saturday 21 February from 2pm - 4pm you build your craft and paddles. Sunday 22 February at 2pm there will be a parade of all crafts followed by a race from the shore out to a buoy and back to shore. What You Receive: Teams will be given basic materials. As a guide, last Festival s pack included: * 2 sheets of plywood 2400 x 1200 x 4mm * Flat head nails * 3 pieces of timber 45 x 45 x 2000mm * Adequate Sikaflex * Ample copper wire or plastic ties What You Supply: Teams must provide: * 1 approved life jacket for each member * Rubber/disposable gloves * Hand saws (maximum of 2) * 2 pencils or similar markers * 1 Hand drill or awl or a battery-operated drill * 1 rule or tape measure (for making holes in plywood) * Hand plane (fussy finishers) * Putty knife or similar for smoothing Sikaflex * Non-standard sail * Side cutting pliers (maximum of 2) * Other The Rules: The race winner is the first team to cross the line with ALL parts of their vessel intact. No prepared drawings or templates may be used. Life jackets must be worn correctly during the entire race. Teams may retain their vessels after the race but must clean up all mess! Bailing buckets are permitted. Bailing buckets should not be used to handicap adjacent competing boats by filling them with water. Your sail rig MAY be made at home from non-standard sailboat materials or found objects, such as wheat sacks, umbrellas, kites or very large hats. There is no limit to sail area size or shape, except that the entire rig must come back over the finish line in company with the vessel it started on. The rig cannot be abandoned. It cannot be used to spear or otherwise attack other vessels, or their crews. Outboard motors may not be used. Crews may not be jettisoned during the event to save boat weight. All crew must come back over the finish line in company with the boat upon which they commenced the race. Crews may not undress during any leg of the event. This will constitute cheating by distraction. Additional instructions or building criteria may be provided by the commentator on Saturday during the construction time. Awards will be presented in various categories on both days!

Mooring areas will be supervised and boats not registered with the Festival will be directed to leave as required under the Festival s insurance and closed waters provisions.
