Hotel System Management The Hotel Smartest Solution Apice Hotel System is a natural evolution of the Building Automation line; it integrates a number of highly technological products, specifically designed to give greater comfort, control and safety in hotels. The Hotel System offered by Apice includes a dedicated supervisor software recently entirely redesigned to offer the end user all the features he needs. However, this is not a closed package but allows for multiple customizations, integrating other devices needed to access control management, anti-intrusion system, general supervision, billing, etc...necessary for the management of rooms and guests. The Apice Hotel System is based on LonWorks technology and includes all the advantages of a "open" and "interoperable" system which also allows the integration of different manufacturers that interact in the system without any communication problem with, indeed, the possibility to implement the functionalities (eg. exterior lighting control, management supervision equipment rooms, etc...). Moreover, the system incorporates all the advantages of LonWorks technology, design, plant engineering and maintenance of the network including the ability to install the system in existing buildings hotel. MA5600 Fig. 1 Standard Room Managed by Apice s Hotel System Hotel System Components MA5600 The room controller is Apice s MA5600. It has the following functionalities: Setpoint regulation and temperature measurement Two special outputs are reserved to the measurement of the temperature and to the setpoint regulation. Three setpoint can be programmed for each season and that depends on occupation status of the room (busy, not busy, stand-by). When the room is busy, the user can regulate the setpoint plus or minus a certain number of degrees and it can be programmed relevant to the previous setpoint. Heat management and light regulation Two analog outputs are present on the node: a Fancoil output for the room heat management; a Dimmer output for the light variation. Smoke sensors management The node MA5600 can directly manage up to six smoke sensors or can collect the auxiliary output from a sensor already installed without interfering on the alarm fire system. Power devices management Four digital outputs, of which three with high power relays can be used for power supply of the room (lights, TV.) and door electric lock. Alarm management Balanced outputs can be used for alarm points, as open door/window, bathroom alarm.
CARD READER The Card Reader has the functionality to enable the user, owner of the personal card, to enter the room; when the card is known by the reader, the electric lock of the door will be unlocked, the Entrance Light (for the hotel) inside the room will switch on to facilitate the insertion of the card in the card holder. The card reader is provided with a LED to indicate that the card has been read, a LED used to indicate the information DO NOT DISTURB/BUSY ROOM and an input to be used as CALL PUSH-BUTTON. THERMOSTAT The Regulator used to measure the temperature and for set-point adjustment includes a LED to indicate the status of the air conditioning system and a Buzzer to be used to repeat the Call signal or alarm signaling. The equipment includes a connection for a luminous push-button that has various functions if used in hotels or for office control. In the former case, it is used to activate/deactivate the Do not disturb status, while in the latter case it activates the night mode status and also inserts a room security system. In all cases, including for offices, the occupied/do not disturb status can be set. It is possible to choose among different types of thermostats depending from the features required. FANCOIL MODULE INTERFACE Suitable for 3 speed motor control and it is also available with a relay command on a solenoid valve to interrupt flow of fluids in the fancoil. CARD HOLDER Installed at the entrance of the room, when the card is inserted in the holder, it has the function to switch on the lights of the rooms, included the TV monitor for the Welcome to the customer. BENEFITS OF APICE s HOTEL SYSTEM Energy Saving Save energy costs is possible through intelligent management. In the Apice Hotel System when the host is not present the air conditioning plant (hot or cold) works with the energy saving mode, maintaining the temperature set by the operator, turning off the electrical system. When the customer is into the room the electrical system is activated and the air-conditioning switch to the favorite level of comfort allowing the adjustment of the room temperature (you can set up to 6 different set-point), but within the limits set by the operator. In addition, when the host opens the window air conditioner is automatically excluded. Security Access to the rooms is controlled by magnetic or proximity cards. When the customer is not in the room to open the window or door, without the use of the card, will give rise to an intrusion alarm that is received at the reception. When the customer is not in the room, the opening without the card of the window or the door will activate an intrusion alarm that is received at the reception. The system manage the hotel personnel security also SUPERVISOR A Supervisor SW shows the situation of the state of the rooms; The Alarms are reported to be received and reset by the staff in two different operations; All more important events are registered; Issue Operation and card collecting.
Management At the reception there is a PC with SCADA software (Fig. 2), which allows an overview of the state of the rooms showing if these are occupied or not, the "do not disturb" and the "clean room" status. The management software also allows you to assign the cards to the customers and to change the temperature settings in the rooms. Moreover, the software will record all accesses made by the customer and the service personnel, allowing to calculate the statistical efficiency of the staff. In general, the system permits to realize more low cost control and supervision locations incorporating a complete view of the system to solve the problems of temperature control, access control, state rooms supervision, cards assignement and their rights, burglar alarm system and smoke detection. All these activities could be realized from a PC as a touch-screen according to the need. In addition, Apice offers remote assistance (on request also in weekend).
