Research, Patent Awards and Grant Implementation Late Pleistocene soilscape of a sandy coastal plain, Pinelands National Reserve, New Jersey, Coauthored an examination of terrestrial past permafrost environments like the Pinelands adds to the range of Earth analogs available for Mars studies. These areas are especially important to the understanding of mid-latitudinal planetary climate change dynamics, areas most affected by diurnal, seasonal, and long-term climate perturbations. We provide examples from a well-preserved pine forest region along the US East Coast (39º 40º N), which experienced multiple episodes of permafrost aggradation and degradation during the last 200,000 years using modern remote sensing LiDAR systems. Presented at the 3rd International Conference on Terrestrial Mars Analogues (October 2012) Ancient Eolian Land-Forms and Features from a Terrestrial Mid-Latitude Periglacial Environment. Coauthored periglacial geomorphology studies using a remotely sensed LiDAR, historic aerial photography imagery data analyzed with field geologic and geochemical analyses to identify and model ancient eolian land-forms (2012).
