BioneXt BioneXt Tampere was a development and investment programme focusing on top- level research, product development, clinical application and international commercialization of biotechnology. The programme gathered together the strong and versatile technological expertise in the region to initiate new research in biology and medicine. The aim was to achieve investments to the value of 100 million euros by the year 2010.

HealthBIO in Brief HealthBIO is a new Competence Cluster focusing on health-related biotechnology. The participating regions (capital region, Kuopio, Oulu, Tampere and Turku) represent the five major regional bioclusters in Finland. HealtBIO is financed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a part of the Center of Expertise Programme for the term of 2007-2013. HealthBIO aims to build internationally attractive innovation environments by coordinated cooperation and networking of both regional and other national activities, and with a multidisciplinary approach to top level expertise and competencies.
