EMPLOYMENT RECORD The work experience has been mainly directed since 1984, to the analysis of problems related to risk management in urban areas as a result of the occupation processes in the city; and in general, activities related to research and consultancy in Disaster Risk Management. She has participated in more than 60 projects and consultancies. Here are some of the experiences in which she participated from 2000: Currently designing the online course "Disaster Risk Management for Municipal Officials," for the Center for Research in Integrated Risk Management. Participates in the development of the Local Urban Development Plan of Chacao Municipality 1

incorporating disaster risk prevention and mitigation in the Plan, and advises on aspects of Institutional Strengthening in Local Risk Management. At the international level, coordinates the study of Initiatives and trends in the formation of human talent in the area of Disaster Risk Management in Latin America (Project CIGIR LA RED, financed by UNDP). It has supported through various activities and meetings, initiatives in the area of Risk Management in Venezuela for various ministries, governors, mayors and the national assembly as well as universities and private entities. Consultant for the IDB Inter-American Development Bank document "Diagnostic on Disaster Risk Management in Venezuela". 2011. Advised the "Project on applied research to the Integrated Risk Management in urban areas" for the Venezuelan Foundation for Seismological Research FUNVISIS. For the same entity, supported the design and implementation of the Tsunami simulation as part of regional exercise "Caribbean Wave," promoted by UNESCO in 2011. Associate Consultant in Disaster Risk Reduction in Latin America and the Caribbean for Disaster Reduction Unit, Bureau for Crisis Prevention and Recovery, United Nations Program for Development (BCPR-UNDP). As part of this supported Early Recovery Process from Floods in Mexico, Dominican Republic Tropical Storms, Flooding in Panama and Costa Rica Earthquake. Participated in the development and review of the law "Ley de Gestion Integral de Riesgos Socionaturales y Tecnologico" approved in Venezuela in 2009, working with the Environmental Commission of the National Assembly. Coordinated the "Compilation and Socialization of disaster risk information in Venezuela" Disaster Inventory and Hazard Characterization Studies in Venezuela, the Venezuelan Foundation for Seismological Research, FUNVISIS, as a consultant. 2007-2009 Developed as a consultant, the study on "Criteria for the inclusion of the variable risks in local development plans in the municipality of Chacao, Miranda State" for the Institute of Civil Protection and Environment, IPCA. 2007. She has participated and coordinated several geomorphological studies sectorization for risk identification and technical reports for public and private entities including the Presidential Office of Plans and Special Projects. Also took part of the advisory team of the Presidential Commission for Risk Management formed in Venezuela in 2005. In 2006 she worked as National Consultant for the Andean Community Disaster Prevention Project.Technical Support to upgrade / systematize / disclose inventories of actors and regulations and to assist in the coordination / development / dissemination of the national regional / local and sectoral prevention and relief, according to guidelines agreed at the level of Andean subregion. Coordinated the work on "Integrated Risk Management: Actions for the construction of an State Policy" Ministry of Science and Technology, which latter became a publication. She was a consultant to the "Organizational Design of an institutional framework for disaster risk management, applicable to different sectors and geographical areas of the ministries involved in the Risk Management National System and Civil Protection," which was intended to provide guidelines for the institutions on prevention and mitigation, preparedness and disaster response for development entities in Venezuela. Developed the "Inter-agencies Emergency Response Plan" for the United Nations System in Venezuela, in collaboration with the UN agencies. Advised the preparation operationalization of strategic lines of intervention on "Strengthening Institutional Capacities for Risk Management" and "Community Capacity Building for local risk management " to the Authority of Vargas State Area - Corpovargas and the Presidential Commission on Risk Management. Participated as a consultant in the "Pilot Study on Community-based Strategies for the relocation of high risk areas" for FUNDAPRIS-JICA, as part of the Basic Plan for Disaster Prevention of Caracas, and performed the mission of support for the non-structural System Prevention Plan "Disaster Prevention and Reconstruction of the State Social Vargas" (PREDERES) developing the "Study of Institutional Framework for Sustainable Early Warning Systems and the Hydrometeorological Network." FEDE - Ministry of Education Since 1993, advised the municipal government of Caracas in the area of Risk Assessment and Emergency Programs, and supported the creation of the Risk Management Unit of the Municipal Services Corporation, Mayor of Caracas, where she became director. Participated in the creation and development of the Municipal System for Emergency Mitigation and response for the municipality of Libertador-Caracas. She was adviser to the Area of Disaster Planning, for the Fire Department of Caracas. In the decade of 90, in private consulting, she served as an environmental analyst and participated in the preparation of studies of environmental sensitivity and oil spill contingency plans for the oil industry. TEACHING AND RESEARCH: Currently teaches courses on Risk Management at the Environment and Development postgraduate program of the Simon Bolivar University and the Universidad Central de Venezuela and is tutor of theses in both universities and in Chile. As Professor of the Universidad Simon Bolivar established undergraduate and graduate courses related to Integrated Risk Management in Urban Areas and taught workshops on Environment Analysis for Urban Planning, participated as a teacher in the Specialization in Local Planning and Management for CENDES UCV. As a member of the the Latin American Network for the Social Study of Disaster Prevention LA RED, supported training courses in Local Risk Management in Venezuela. Took part as a member in technical committees for the Ministry of Science and Technology, and evaluator of projects for funding on Disasters Risk research. Has conducted several undergraduate and graduate thesis on the topic of disaster risk managment.
