Combining technologies such as Hadoop for scalability and performance, Lucene/SOLR search, Mahout machine learning, 3D information modeling, and advanced Natural Language Processing, the Statistica Big Data Analytics suite is a fully integrated, configurable, cloud-enabled software platform that you can deploy in minutes. Cloudera upgrade In 12.7, SBDA works with Cloudera CDH5. Cloudera CDH5 uses YARN for resource management, and SBDA, in turn, uses the YARN MapReduce application container for executing workflows on Cloudera. You can download and install CDH5 from the Cloudera website (www.cloudera.com). Installation requires minor modification of the CDH5 environment. See the SBDA installation instructions for more information. MapReduce sampling SBDA in version 12.7 contains new filtering processing elements (PEs) that implement sampling capabilities. Sampling PEs implement uniform sampling in MapReduce contexts as well as stratified sampling. Sampling parameterization includes sampling frequency, exact sampling rate, and systematic sampling. The new Processing Elements (PEs) are available under the Filters tab on the left side of the SBDA Author interface. Select Filters and scroll down to locate the new PEs. Consult the SBDA documentation, statistica-big-data- 12.7/doc/Statistica-Big-Data-Analytics-12.7.pdf, for more information on new sampling capabilities. Dell TM Statistica TM 6

Integration with Statistica Big Data Analytics (formerly known as Kitenga Analytics) In 12.7, Statistica is now integrated with Statistica Big Data Analytics (formerly known as Kitenga Analytics), which enables the Enterprise data administrator to configure Statistica Enterprise to reference the Statistica Big Data Analytics Servers (powered by Kitenga) so that users can access the models deployed in Kitenga. Configuration of Statistica Big Data Analytics servers within Statistica Enterprise can be accomplished as shown in the following illustration. Big Data Analytics Model Execution node A new workspace node Big Data Analytics Model Execution has been added in 12.7. Using this node, the data analyst can now execute any models that have been deployed in Kitenga. The node will store the metadata for Kitenga Processing workflows and use this metadata to execute models on the data stored within Hadoop Distributed File Systems. The results of the model execution are exported back to Statistica for further analysis. The node is accessible via a new Node Browser top level folder: Big Data Analytics. The node options are shown in the next illustrations. Dell TM Statistica TM 7

Dell TM Statistica TM 8

Integration with Hadoop Distributed File Server In 12.7, Statistica is integrated with Hadoop Distributed File System Servers, which enables the Enterprise data administrator to configure Statistica Enterprise to reference the Hadoop Distributed File System Servers so that users can access the data stored in HDFS. This feature is available with Statistica Enterprise Small Business Edition and Statistica Enterprise Server. Configuration of HDFS servers within Statistica Enterprise can be performed via the options shown in the next illustration. A new workspace node has been added HDFS Import Text that provides the ability to import data from HDFS into Statistica for advanced Analytics. The node is accessible via a new Node Browser top level folder: Big Data Analytics. The node options are shown in the following illustration (the node provides the same options that are available for text import). Dell TM Statistica TM 9

Click the File button to display the HDFS Browser, where you can select from among the SBDA servers and then browse that HDFS instance for a particular file. Integration with Toad Intelligence Central Toad Intelligence Central enables you to share information easily across your team. This set of data reporting tools provides a centralized repository for up-to-date information, making data provisioning more efficient, in a sanctioned, company-controlled environment. Data gathered by Dell s data analysis and reporting tool, Toad Data Point, can be published directly to Toad Intelligence Central. In 12.7, Statistica is now integrated with Toad Intelligence Central allowing the Enterprise data administrator to configure Statistica Enterprise to reference the TIC servers so that users can access all the data sources supported by TIC. This feature is available with Statistica Enterprise Small Business Edition and Statistica Enterprise Server. Configuration of TIC servers within Statistica Enterprise can be accomplished as shown in the following image. You can either enter the specifics of your particular Toad server (server name and application server port), or if the network is configured to allow the WS-Discovery protocol, you can allow Statistica to automatically discover TIC servers on the network. Dell TM Statistica TM 10

Integration with Microsoft Azure Machine Learning Service Statistica and Microsoft Azure Machine Learning service integration enables customers to use Dell Software s recently acquired Statistica advanced analytics platform in tandem with the Microsoft Azure Machine Learning Service. With the combination of Dell Statistica and the Azure Machine Learning Service, customers get the robust predictive analytics capabilities they desire while enjoying the many advantages of a cloud deployment, all while maintaining proper compliance and security. This feature is available with Statistica Data Miner. 1. Create analytics workflows in Statistica 2. Create analytic models in Azure 3. From a Statistica workspace, a new workspace node Azure Machine Learning enables users to run Azure models in Cloud. This node can be accessed from the Node Browser in a top-level folder Big Data Analytics. Dell TM Statistica TM 11

4. The following illustration shows the Azure Machine Learning options. All products Variable selection feature Statistica 12.7 now supports using wildcard expressions while selecting variables for analysis. If the variables are named in a predictable manner, you can use wildcard expressions or open-ended ranges to select variables instead of scrolling through the entire list and selecting individual variables. The wildcards supported include * to mean one or more characters and? to match exactly one character. For example, the wildcard M*E?1 would match MEASURE01, MEASURE11, MEASURE21, and ME01. Additionally, variable selection syntax now supports an open-ended range to dynamically select the number of variables at run time. For example, the syntax 3-* means select variable 3 through the maximum number of variables, even if the number of variables changes at runtime. The text expressions are persistent, so if you close a variable selection dialog box after selecting variables, and then you need to edit the selections, you can open the variable selection dialog box again; the variable list(s) and the edit box(es) are repopulated with the previous selections. Variable selection filtering can be used in analyses, graphs, and workspace nodes. Dell TM Statistica TM 12

R integration Integration of Statistica with R has been enhanced in workspace so that users can create new custom nodes that can directly access consumer R scripts without having the need for wrapper SVB code. Users can further customize these nodes by adding new parameters in the.dmi file or by using the existing UI. These R nodes are capable of handling multiple input datasets and are capable of producing multiple downstream documents. Native support has been added to facilitate the editing of the R code from within the workspace. Statistica supports R integration for the following versions of R: 2.13.0 through 3.1.2. Statistica Web Data Entry In the Web Data Entry module, the following enhancements have been made: 1. The Web Data Entry admin can now define characteristics that are calculated from other characteristics and labels. As a result, the Web Data Entry user can now see the calculated fields displayed as they enter data into the other fields. 2. Labels can now have a default value, and the system has the ability to check for unique labels within a Data Entry Setup. 3. While performing Blind Data Entry, the system will highlight fields that are different between two samples to anyone who can view or edit a sample, and an option can be set to see the actual differences. 4. Blind Data Entry now has an option to prepopulate general labels on the matching sample page if those are not required for Blind DE. Statistica Text Miner With 12.7, data analysts can now deploy text mining models as PMML so that users can deploy new data against this model. Data analysts can also deploy the text mining model to Statistica Enterprise so that the analysis configuration created can be used to score new data against the deployed model. As shown in the following image, a new option PMML File is available for deploying text mining models. Dell TM Statistica TM 13

This functionality is also available in the Text Mining workspace node. Statistica Enterprise Small Business Edition, Statistica Enterprise, Statistica Data Miner 1. A wide variety of example nodes has been added to 12.7 to allow easy creation of R nodes, the ability to build a word cloud from Twitter data, to perform lasso regression, and many more. These nodes are available in the Node Browser: select Example Procedures from the drop-down list at the top of the Browser. 2. A new workspace node Email Data has been added that makes it possible for you to send the downstream document in an email to specific users when the workspace executes. The node is accessible via a new Node Browser top-level folder: Publish. The following illustration shows the node options. Dell TM Statistica TM 14

Statistica Enterprise Server with MAS A new workspace node Alarm Trigger has been added to make it possible for you to generate alarms so that you can post alarms to MAS based on the results of the workspace. The node is accessible via a new Node Browser top-level folder: Publish The following illustration shows the node options. Statistica Enterprise Compliance Edition When Enterprise Manager is integrated with SDMS, objects can be modified by different users. In 12.7, a message will be displayed (to the user of the object being modified) when the same object has been modified by another user since the first user originally opened it, allowing the first user to abort the save operation or to continue on. Statistica Enterprise 1. Enterprise Object Links. Statistica Enterprise now allows a WebStatistica URL in Statistica reports that will execute an analysis configuration or report configuration. When users access the WebStatistica URL, they will be able to sign on to WebStatistica with integrated login authentication or be prompted for their Enterprise login. The Enterprise Report editor now allows tags that will reference the URL of the specified analysis configuration. 2. Approvals on the Enterprise Manager properties page. When Statistica Document Management System (SDMS) is enabled, Statistica Enterprise will now show the approval information on the Enterprise Manager properties page for that object. Not Approved is displayed if no historical version has ever been approved; Approved is displayed if the current version is approved; Not approved (latest approved version is *.*) is displayed if the current version is not approved, but an earlier version has been. Dell TM Statistica TM 15

When approving in Enterprise Manager, the approver has the ability to automatically generate a new major revision. 4. The Statistica OLE DB provider now supports referencing an Enterprise Data Configuration as a Data Source. The syntax is enterprise://system-path where system-path is the path of the Data Configuration. 5. There is a new Enterprise Permission Folder Admin (FADM) to allow users to manage system folders (create new, rename, delete) without having full Administrator permissions. Note that the user must have some permissions that allows access to Enterprise Manager (such as Engineering Admin). Rules Builder 1. Editing a text version of rules now includes Find and Search/Replace options. 2. Now, when Rules node has the Treat Missing Data as Error option set, and there is no Error variable defined so per-case errors cannot be reported, Statistica will stop at the first case when this type of error is encountered and abort the workspace execution. 3. Dependencies now include all nested rules and models in the dependency check. Statistica analytics bundles Statistica Base The following enhancements are included in Statistica Base. Since all products include Base, these enhancements will be seen by all customers. 1. New options have been added to provide the ability to perform Schuirmann's test of statistical equivalence so that you can determine if the means between two groups are practically equivalent within some interval of equivalence/indifference. The option to compute the two one-sided test of equivalence is provided in the results dialog box accessed via the t-test, independent, by groups analysis option within the Basic Statistics and Tables module. Dell TM Statistica TM 16

The button to the right of the option is used to enter the mean difference that defines the interval of equivalence. 2. New options have been added to provide the ability to compute an odds ratio and large sample confidence interval in order to compare two groups with respect to an event of interest occurring or not occurring. The option to compute an odds ratio and large sample confidence interval for 2x2 tables is provided on the Options tab of the Crosstabulation Tables Results dialog box, accessed via the Tables and banners analysis option within the Basic Statistics and Tables module. Statistica Advanced Confusion matrix in the Rapid Deployment module The Rapid Deployment module has been enhanced to provide the ability to create a confusion matrix as output for a categorical model in order to evaluate the performance of the model. The Confusion matrix tab has been added to Rapid Deployment of Predictive Models dialog box. The options on this tab are available only for categorical models. Dell TM Statistica TM 17

Tree Clustering (agglomerative clustering) A new hierarchical algorithm, Tree Clustering (also known as agglomerative clustering) has been added to the Clustering module in Data Mining in 12.7. It is currently in the beta phase. This algorithm is commonly used in bio-medical research and in quality control. Tree Clustering can be accessed on the Quick tab of the Cluster Analysis dialog box, which is accessed via the Data Mining tab, Clustering/Grouping group. Forest Plot A new workspace node Forest Plot has been added to make it possible to graphically display the results of a meta-analysis and visually assess the overall effectiveness of the statistical parameter of interest across multiple studies. The node is accessible via Graphs 2D. The following image shows the dialog box. Dell TM Statistica TM 18
