4 Introduction This document provides the following for the Migration Manager for Enterprise Social (MMES) tool: descriptions of what is and is not migrated (with explanations where appropriate) examples of how content is migrated a content migration summary table This document is intended to help you get started with using the MMES tool and provide an understanding of the available features and limitations. 5 Reviewing the Migrated Content The Jive content appears as below on the content home page. The content that will be included in the migration is identified as Migrated content in red below. 7 Example 1 Jive Group Information The About Info for the Info Mgmt group displays the following in Jive. This display includes a title for the group, a description, the owner, group type, and the created datetime stamp. The Type for a Jive group can be the following. Tags can also be assigned to the group. Visibility to content within the group to outside members can be enabled. 9 Yammer Group Information The information about the Info Mgmt Group in Yammer appears as below. This display includes a title for the group. The description, the owner, group type, and the created datetime stamp are not migrated over. Yammer groups can be created as Public or Private. At this time, MMES must create Public Groups so that user accounts can be added to the group via the Yammer API. A Yammer group does not have a setting to enable visibility to content within the group to outside members. A Yammer group does not have an option available for place navigation or for selecting a different group template. 10 Example 2: Discussion Jive Main Topic The main topic in a discussion in Jive displays an author, a date-time stamp, the original title and the title. It also displays the attached files at the bottom of the Jive main topic. Images can be embedded in the main topic. 10 MMES - What Can and Cannot Be Migrated Dell Inc., 2015

12 Yammer Main Topic The main topic in a discussion in Yammer does not display a title. The migrated title is added to the beginning of the main topic content. A trial license will display the following text in place of the original title. DELL EVALUATION SOFTWARE PURCHASE A FULL LICENSE TO REMOVE THIS MESSAGE Images and content videos in the main topic in Jive cannot be migrated due to a limitation in the Jive API at this time. Images are included in the PDF document containing the entire discussion. The file attachments appear at the bottom of the main topic. The first two files are copied from Jive. The third file is a PDF document of the entire Jive discussion. The PDF document maintains the rich text formatting and content. The Yammer discussion does display a Like hotspot. 14 Example 3: Discussion Jive Response A response to the main topic in a discussion in Jive displays the author, a date-time stamp, the original title and the response title. 16 Yammer Response The response to the File attachment discussion in Yammer does not display a title. The title for the Jive response will be included as plain text to the beginning of the response text. The date-time stamp is appended to the end of the migrated Jive response. This is a configurable setting. Yammer maintains its own date-time stamp that cannot be set via the API. The stamp will use the datetime value of when the content was posted and which user account posted it. Yammer responses only permit plain text content. The formatting cannot be displayed. The original rich text content is stored in a PDF document and attached to the main discussion topic. 16 MMES - What Can and Cannot Be Migrated Dell Inc., 2015

17 The images appearing in the Jive response are appended to the end of the Yammer response. Content videos in the response in Jive cannot be migrated due to a limitation in the Jive API at this time. A Yammer response cannot be marked as a Correct Answer. 18 Additional Jive Features Jive also allows for creating additional content in a Jive place. For example, users can create projects, blog posts, polls, events, videos and ideas in Jive places. There are no similar features in Yammer; but there are somewhat similar features in SharePoint. MMES does not migrate content in these features at this time. Jive also has a feature for users to provide status updates. A similar feature is available in Yammer. Date-Time Stamp Yes The date-time stamp in Yammer cannot be modified. The date-time stamp is appended to the end of the migrated content. Tags Yammer has a Topics feature that could be used like the Jive tags Rich text Yes Only plain text is migrated to Yammer. A PDF document of entire discussion is automatically created and attached to the main topic. Images Yes Images are uploaded to the Yammer group.
