. GLOBAL SETTINGS: MY MERCHANT CONSOLE S tarting a Merchant Account and adding a Payment Solution can sometimes be a complicated, frustrating experience. At United Payment Services, we are doing everything we can to keep things simple and still provide Merchants with all the variety of options they need. Once you get the e mail with the subject Welcome to SecurePAY System, you ll have your username and password, which will allow you to log on to your merchant console and set up your SecurePAY System. To begin setting up, simply go to https://www.mymerchantconsole.com. Enter your username and password, and you will be allowed into your console. Below are descriptions of each of the links off your Merchant Console. These can all be found under the ADMINISTRATION tab. To change your settings, select a link, choose your options, and click Update at the bottom of the page..1 SETTINGS: GENERAL These are the general email and processing settings..1.1 EMAIL SETTINGS In this section, merchants can choose to send email receipts to themselves or their order handling staff by adding an email address to the Merchant Email Address (es): textbox. (Place a ; between email addresses if using more than one). There are also various other email settings, mouse over the help icons for an explanation of each. IMPORTANT: The From Email Address should be a real, monitored email address so customers can reply to the address on the email receipt with any questions..1.2 PROCESSING SETTINGS In this section, merchants can set their SecurePAY system to operate in test mode. In this mode, all transactions processed by the website will go to United Payment Services as test transactions. IMPORTANT: Merchants need to be very careful to take the system OUT of test mode when the testing is complete!.2 SETTINGS: LOGO Here you can upload a logo to use on your Transaction Receipts, Order Receipts and the SecurePay header. To upload the logo file click Browse and select the file from your file system, then click Upload. IMPORTANT: Files must end in either.gif or.jpg If file you are uploading has the same name as file already stored, existing file will be overwritten. Images should be approximately 60x200 pixels (2 pixels/inch). Logos can be larger or smaller, but that size generally looks the best. If you have a logo on your existing website, the same one can often be used. 10

.3 SETTINGS: SECUREPAY These are the settings for SecurePAY..3.1 SETTINGS: SECUREPAY : GENERAL This section contains general SecurePAY information. It also allows customers to store payment and shipping information so when they return to a website, they can check out easily. These settings are available and necessary if you also have out Connect Customers service. They provide the ability to control your customer logins, credit card expiration notification, in addition to providing customizable templates for customer emails, recurring terms, and page templates. Click on the help icons for further information..3. SETTINGS: SECUREPAY : COUNTRY SUPPORT Merchants have several options when it comes to selling to global locations: Option 1 Sell and ship only in the United States (choose USA only ) Option 2 Sell and ship to all countries (choose All countries ) Option 3 Sell and ship to specific countries (choose USA & Specific Countries ) and then check only those countries to which you want to sell. Hint: if you wish to sell to almost all countries, choose All international countries then update, the change the pull down to Specific Countries Listed Below and take off those countries you don t want, and update again..3.5 SETTINGS: SECUREPAY : LAYOUT AND COLORS This is where you set the overall look and feel of the SecurePAY system. The page section is where you can set the SecurePAY system frames options and the system theme (or color scheme). The header section is where you can set whether to show the separator. Templates are used to control the exact look and feel of the header and order form pages..3.6 SETTINGS: SECUREPAY : PRODUCTS SecurePAY products are created to be displayed on the hosted order form (see the Building an Order Form section for details). On this page you can manage multiple products. To add a new product, click the Add new product button and enter the product name, number, price, select if the product is active, and if the product quantity or price is editable. When done, click the Add button. Click the Edit link to edit an existing product, or click the red X icon to delete an existing product. Each column in the Products table is sortable by clicking on a column header text. 12

.3. SETTINGS: SECUREPAY : RECEIPT OPTIONS This is where you configure the settings for your customer s receipts after they are finished checking out. Select if you wish to use the default SecurePAY receipt page or your own. If you select your own page, you will need to provide a website address for approved and declined transactions. If you are using the default SecurePAY receipt page, you can choose if you want a link to appear under the receipt to take the customer back to your site. Here you can also customize the text displayed for that link and where the link will take your customer..3.8 SETTINGS: SECUREPAY : SHIPPING AND HANDLING Once you ve decided how to charge for shipping and to which countries you wish to sell your products, setting up shipping options is a snap. If a merchant wants to have a set amount charged for shipping and handling on all orders, Per Order Handling is the method they should use. If a merchant wishes to specify the shipping cost for each individual item, Fixed Cost Shipping is available. For those merchants who charge shipping according to the cost of an order, Price Based Shipping is available to them. Each of these shipping solutions is listed below and in the following sections to help merchants choose which option is best for them. Shipping Method Per Order Handling Fixed Cost Shipping Price Based Shipping Description Per Order Handling is not necessarily a shipping method, but will automatically add the set dollar amount to each order. This charge will be displayed as one total labeled Shipping and Handling. Per Order Handling should be used if the merchant wants to designate a set dollar amount to be charged for all orders. (NOTE: If a Per Order Handling amount is set, it will ALWAYS be charged even if another shipping method is being utilized.) Fixed Cost Shipping allows the merchant to set a shipping cost for each individual item. The shipping cost is integrated with each individual item s HTML code and is added to the total automatically. Price Based Shipping implements set shipping costs based on the cost of the order. These shipping costs can also be set based on the shipping method (overnight, ground) or the destination region..3.8.1 PER ORDER HANDLING Per order Handling adds a dollar amount to each of your orders. The customers only see one total labeled Shipping and Handling where the per order handling amount is included with the shipping charges. IMPORTANT: If you have tags included to have per product handling and per order handling, BOTH will be charged to the customer. 13

.3.8.2 FIXED COST DOMESTIC SHIPPING Merchants using the Fixed Cost shipping model simply send a code with the shipping cost for each item. Shipping costs are added to the total by the SecurePAY System automatically. For example, if a customer orders two items, one with a $2 shipping cost and one with a $5 shipping cost, the customer would be charged $ for shipping in addition to the cost of the order. (See the Add To Cart Button Fixed Cost Shipping (Inside US) section for more details)..3.8.3 FIXED COST GLOBAL SHIPPING All international shipping splits the world into 8 regions outside the US, which are described in the table in the Regions of the World section. For each product, merchants choose a flat rate for shipping to each region of the world. When an international customer purchases an item from the website, they are automatically billed the flat rate for each of the products they have purchased. (For an example, please see the Add To Cart Button Fixed Cost Shipping (International) section) Note: If a merchant chooses to ship internationally, then there must be a tag on each product with the international shipping costs, or international shipping costs for that item will be $0.00.3.8. PRICE BASED SHIPPING EXAMPLE: SALES ONLY IN THE USA The simplest way for a merchant to implement Price Based Shipping is to set up a table of price ranges and the associated shipping charges for each range. STANDARD SHIPPING Price US $0 $10 $3.00 $10.01 $50 $12.00 $50.01 $100 $1.00 $100.01 + $20.00 In this example, the merchant is only selling inside the USA, so costs are filled out for only the US Column. In the table on the right, if this is the only table implemented, this example an order which costs $56.5 would have a shipping charge of $1.00. This shipping charge is added to the order as the customer checks out. However, many merchants want to provide customers with multiple shipping options such as standard shipping, 2 nd day air or overnight shipping. In this case the merchant would set up three tables: Standard Shipping (shown above) 2 nd Day Air (example below) Overnight Shipping (example below) OVERNIGHT Price US $0 $50 $0.00 $50.01 + $100.00 2 nd DAY AIR Price US $0 $15 $8.00 $15.01 $25 $18.00 $25.01 $50 $25.00 $50.01 + $35.00 Using this example, if a customer has an order which costs $56.5, they would be able to choose from 3 shipping options: Standard Shipping $1.00, 2 nd Day Air $35.00, or Overnight $100.00. 1

.3.8.5 PRICE BASED SHIPPING EXAMPLE: SHIPPING INTERNATIONALLY Merchants using Price Based shipping also have the choice to ship internationally. Price Based shipping for international orders works the same way as for domestic orders. For each price level, the merchant gives a shipping cost for each region. Price US 1 2 3 5 6 8 $0 $10 $3.00 $0 $0 $5 $ $15 $15 $0 $25 $10.01 $50 $12.00 $9 $9 $1 $15 $2 $2 $9 $3 $50.01 $100 $25.00 $53 $53 $18 $19 $28 $28 $53 $38 $100.01 + $50.00 $8 $8 $3 $ $53 $53 $8 $63 Above is an example of the type of table a merchant using international price based shipping might use. This table is by no means an accurate reflection of cost to ship items overseas. To obtain that information, merchants will have to speak to their individual carriers..3.8.6 REGIONS OF THE WORLD Merchants can choose whether or not to allow international shipping, and can also choose which countries to ship to. The world is broken up into 9 regions, listed below: Region Region Number United States 0 Africa 1 Asia 2 Canada 3 America Europe 5 Middle East 6 Australia and the Mexico 8.3.9 SETTINGS: SECUREPAY : STATE SALES TAX Select the states in which you wish to charge Sales Tax. Also enter the Sales Tax Rate for the selected state. Only enter the number which represents the Sale Tax Rate. For example, if a state has a.25% Sales Tax Rate, enter.25 (without the percent sign). NOTE: If you have some products which are not taxable, you override taxes in your add to cart button. See the Over riding Tax Charges on a Product section for details. 15

5. BUTTONS & LINKS: ADDING BUTTONS TO YOUR SITE S etting buttons only looks hard. All you really need to do is decide how you want to charge for shipping and handling, then copy them from the examples listed below, and cut and paste them onto your website. Once you get used to the code, you ll see how easy it is! Each button is in fact a small form. Each form passes the required information from your website to our secure servers. The form has information about the store number, the product chosen, its price and the shipping parameters. In the following examples, we will use a store number of 100001. HINT: Sometimes, with web design programs such as Front Page, it is necessary to Copy from the examples, paste into Notepad, then copy again and paste to the Front Page HTML view to ensure that everything stays text. 5.1 USING THE DEFAULT SECUREPAY BUTTON IMAGES To get our merchants moving quickly, United Payment Services provides button images in a variety of colors. Merchants are not required to use our buttons, but sometimes it s just easier and faster. All Button images can be found in the Appendix IV: Buttons and Links section, or at: https://secureinput.myunitedconnect.com/securepayimages NOTE: Your Store Number can be found under Settings > SecurePAY >General 16

5.2 VIEW CART The easiest button is the view cart button. You can have as many of these buttons as you like, and can place them on any page on your website. A handling charge is an optional charge to the customer to cover insurance, handling of bulky items, etc. If this tag is zero or missing, the cart assumes handling will not be charged on this item. 5.6 USING THE PRODUCT NUMBER TAG The Product Number Tag uniquely identifies each product to the SecurePAY System. Most merchants use the SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) for their products (the customers do not generally see this number). The Product Numbers are not required to be unique, however it is generally a good idea. Product Numbers are Alphanumeric (numbers and letters) with possible symbols: [space] &. The text in GREEN will need to be changed to reflect the product or action of the button. 6. ORDER FORMS O rder Forms are used by merchants to have customers pay invoices, make donations, buy services, or purchase a limited number of items. Merchants who do not have a website can still create an online payment system. Merchants with websites can use both the Connect CART allowing customers to purchase items from their website with a shopping cart and an Order Form for larger customers to pay invoices, for example. Important: Merchants using the order form should have their default checkout page set to Order Form so customers or potential customers will see the order form prior to logging in to the SecurePAY system. 6.1 BUILDING AN ORDER FORM Login to MyMerchantConsole.com Choose Settings > SecurePAY > Products Add your products (see Settings: SecurePAY : Products for details) 6.2 CUSTOMIZING YOUR ORDER FORM If you would to customize the top of the text displayed at the top of the order form, go to Settings > SecurePAY > Layout & Colors and choose the Layout and Theme you wish to use. 6.3 DIRECTING CUSTOMERS TO AN ORDER FORM Customers can be directed to an Order Form in a variety of ways: A direct link (customer types in URL) A direct link (customer types in URL) with domain forwarding A Link from an email A Link from the merchant s website An IFrame hosted on a merchant s website In all cases, the Default Checkout Page under Settings > SecurePay > General has to be set to order form. 6.3.1 DIRECT LINK With a direct link, the customer will type in: https://secureinput.myunitedconnect.com/?storenumber=your STORE NUMBER 6.3.2 DIRECT LINK WITH DOMAIN FORWARDING With a direct link and domain forwarding, the merchant has a domain name which forwards to the proper URL. For example: the customer will type in: https://pay.yourdomain.com and the customer is diverted to https://secureinput.myunitedconnect.com/?storenumber=your STORE NUMBER 26

6.3.3 LINK FROM AN EMAIL With a link from an email, the merchant sends an email to the customer which says something like: Click Here to Order Today Then the customer is diverted to https://secureinput.myunitedconnect.com/?storenumber=your STORE NUMBER 6.3. A LINK FROM THE MERCHANT S WEBSITE A link from a website works virtually the same way, the customer clicks on a hyperlink or on an image which says something like: Click Here to Order Today Then the customer is diverted to https://secureinput.myunitedconnect.com/?storenumber=your STORE NUMBER 6.3.5 AN IFRAME HOSTED ON A MERCHANT S WEBSITE In this case, the merchant s website hosts a page with code something like the following: <iframe src="https://secureinputtest.unitedpaymentservices.com/?storenumber=your STORE NUMBER&IsInFrame=yes" width="102" height="600" frameborder="0" name="myinlineframe" scrolling="no"> </iframe> 2

. APPENDIX I: ADVANCED TOPICS.1 WEBSITE INTEGRATION OPTIONS There are three options to use when bolting the SecurePAY system to a merchant website: 1. Standard Connection 2. Partial Frame Connection 3. Full Frame Connection.1.1 STANDARD CONNECTION Many merchants will never need more than the standard integration option. In this case, SecurePAY is bolted to the website by means of the Add to Cart and View Cart buttons. The customer browses the merchant s website, clicks on an Add to Cart button, and goes to SecurePAY s checkout page. The checkout page is customizable so the merchant s name and logo are in the header, and the color scheme can be altered to closely match the merchant s website. The customer can then choose to Continue Shopping to go back to the merchant website, or can choose Checkout. SecurePAY then securely collects the customer s information, processes the transaction, and emails a receipt to the customer (and the merchant if they choose)..1.2 PARTIAL FRAME A partial frame solution allows the merchant to have more options than just Continue Shopping in the header. In fact the header becomes completely customizable, allowing JavaScript and other more advanced feature options. Additional Recommendations When using a partial frame, it is recommended that the merchant purchase an SSL certificate. In fact, it is not necessary, because the SecurePAY system is protected by SSL, however the customer will not see the lock indicating SSL security when partial frames are used unless the merchant purchases an additional SSL certificate for www.yourdomain.com. The good news is theat SSL certificates are much less expensive than they used to be, and they are relatively easy to install..1.3 FULL FRAME A full frame solution allows the merchant to use the SecurePAY payment system, but to have their URL at the top, so customers only see the merchant s URL. Additional Recommendations When using a full frame, it is recommended that the merchant purchase an SSL certificate. In fact, it is not necessary, because the SecurePAY system is protected by SSL, however the customer will not see the lock indicating SSL security when frames are used unless the merchant purchases an additional SSL certificate for www.yourdomain.com. The good news is theat SSL certificates are much less expensive than they used to be, and they are relatively easy to install. 28

.2 DOMAIN NAME FORWARDING OPTIONS Many merchants have their own domain name and their own website. An example of a domain name is www.yourdomain.com..2.1 DOMAIN NAME FORWARDING http://pay.yourdomain.com, and lands on the SecurePAY system. The customer logs in and pays for an order Domain name forwarding is when a request for a web address is forwarded to another web page, a simple example is as follows: http://unitedpaymentservices.com/ is forwarded to http://www.unitedpaymentservices.com/. Domain name forwarding is handy for merchants who want their customers to type in their URL and wind up on the SecurePAY System. In the standard SecurePAY setup, the payment system can be made to look like the merchant website, however the URL at the top of the website says https://www.secureinformation.com/... For many merchants, this is fine, but for merchants who wish to have their domain name remain in the url, domain name forwarding with masking is utilized..2.2 FORWARDING WITH MASKING Domain name forwarding with masking allows the merchant url to remain at the top as the customer navigates through the SecurePAY system. The URL at the top of the website will say: https://www.yourdomain.com/ throughout the payment process. Additional Recommendations When using domain name forwarding with masking, it is recommended that the merchant purchase an SSL certificate. In fact, it is not necessary, because the SecurePAY system is protected by SSL, however the customer will not see the lock indicating SSL security when domain name forwarding with masking is used without an additional SSL certificate in www.yourdomain.com. The good news is theat SSL certificates are much less expensive than they used to be, and they are relatively easy to install. 29
