1 Welcome to DAT Onboarding Are you a broker or carrier and have registered? Click the Log In link from the top of the page and enter your User Name and Password. Are you a carrier and need to create a profile? Click Register here to create a profile from the home page or from the login page. Carrier Pages Carrier Registration Page 1 To create a Login all fields must be entered. You must have authority to provide information on behalf of the carrier. Your address will be your username when you login to future sessions. Passwords must be at least 7 characters and include one non alphanumeric character, such as % or & or #. To identify your company please enter if you are an Interstate or Intrastate carrier. Interstate carriers should enter both their DOT Number and docket number. Intrastate carriers should enter their DOT number (if applicable), their home state and their Intrastate Code. All carriers must enter actual identifying numbers and all numbers must match entries in the DAT Registry database of motor carriers. If you receive an error, please follow the instructions in the error message, or call Customer Support at Click Next to proceed to step 2. Page 2 Page 2 shows information on file for your company in the DAT Registry. Required fields are marked with a red *. Make any necessary edits to your company information. To finish registering, you must certify the information entered is correct and review and agree to the Terms & Conditions by checking the boxes at the bottom of the page. When you do, the Finish button will be enabled.

2 Click Finish to complete your registration. Carrier Home Page Your DAT Onboarding profile is divided into 3 sections: Profile, Insurance and Tax Information. Each section has a status of Red or Green. In order to sign any broker s contracts, all three sections must have a status of Green. Click the edit link in any section to begin the process of updating your information. Click the view link in the Contracts section to view contracts you have signed or search for brokers. Click the upload link in the Upload Attachments section to upload attachments to share with brokers. Profile Section The Profile section is divided into 6 forms: 1. General Info 2. Payment Info 3. Contacts 4. Services 5. Geographic Coverage 6. Equipment Each form has a status of Red or Green. Required fields on each form must be entered to set that form s status to Green. Required fields are marked by a red asterisk (*). You must click the Save button to save any data entered in the forms. General Info Form includes the information entered in the Registration Process and will be Green after you register. Visit the page to make changes to your contact information. Once your TIN is validated (see Tax Info section below) the company s Legal Name will not be editable. Contact Customer Support if you need to change your company s Legal Name and are unable to make that change. Payment Info

3 Stores information on your Remit To address. If you select Yes for Do you use a Factoring Company enter the Factoring Company s Name and Address information. If you select No choose the option to use your Physical or Mailing Address or enter a new address for Remit To purposes. Enter Yes or No to the question Are you interested in a quick-pay plan. Add up to 3 credit References by clicking Edit in the References Section. Fill out the pop-up form and click Save to store the Reference s information. Click Edit to change information on an existing Reference or Clear to delete a Reference. Contacts Allows you to enter contact information for up to 5 individuals at your company. Add contact information by clicking Edit in the Contacts Section. Fill out the pop-up form and click Save to store the contact information. Click Edit to change information on an existing Contact. To add a contact to more than one role, click Edit next to the role and select Use Existing Contact in the pop-up form. One primary contact is required. All contacts cannot be removed. To remove a contact, click Clear. Services Tells brokers about your company s ownership and the services your company provides. Company Type and Year Founded are required fields. Geographic Coverage Tells brokers where your company operates. Check the appropriate boxes. Click a checkbox next to a Zone or list of Canadian Provinces to select all entries in the list that follows. To enter a lane (city to city, city to state or state to state) click Add Lane. To find a city, select the state and then the Metro Area. Click Save to save the lane data. To edit a lane, click Edit. To delete a lane, click Delete. Equipment Tells brokers about your fleet. Required fields are marked with a red *. If your company has trailers, one quantity of trailers in the gray box must be entered. If your company does not have trailers click No Trailers. Enter additional quantities of specific

4 equipment such as Lowboys and Dump Trailers as well as any Attributes and Freight Handling Equipment that apply. Insurance Section The insurance section allows you to provide brokers with contact information for your current insurance agent(s). Please enter any/all information necessary to ensure all insurance agent information is current, accurate and complete. A read only format, where the agent information cannot be edited, indicates that the agent has supplied an insurance certificate for inclusion in the DAT CarrierWatch insurance monitoring program. Select Current = Yes or No to mark whether each agent listed still supplies your insurance. There must be one current insurance agent at all times. Add new agents before marking all agents Current = No. To add new agents, click Add Agent, select the Coverage Type(s) that apply and enter the Agent Company Name, Agent Phone and Agent Fax. Name and Phone are required. Click Save to add the agent information. Agents added in this manner will automatically be marked Current = Yes. Click Edit to make changes to an agent s contact information. Tax Info Section In the Tax Info section, U.S. based carriers will be shown a W-9 form and Canadian carriers a W- 8 form. All required fields are marked with a red asterisk (*). Fill out the entire form and click Submit. Once submitted, W-8 forms will be locked from editing. W-9 forms will be locked from editing once the TIN has been validated with the IRS. Please contact customer support at if you are unable to edit your tax information and need to make changes. Contracts Section If you are visiting the site of a particular broker, that broker s contracts will be visible. Click on the link which matches the contract s name to read and/or download the contract.

5 Standard: Click Sign to bring up the signature pop-up. Type your name in the Type Signature box and your title in the Title box. Click Sign Contract to complete the signature. AssureSign: Click Sign Available Contracts to bring up the signature pop-up. Type your name in the Full Name box and your title in the Title box. Click Go to Documents to be directed to AssureSign to complete the signature process. Click the Signatures tab to view who at your company signed contracts with this broker and when. Click the View link to read and/or download the contract. If you are visiting you will see 3 tabs: Contracts, Brokers, Search for Brokers. The Contracts tab lists all contracts your company has signed, with signee and date information. The Brokers tab lists all broker s you have visited. Click on the broker s name to visit their DAT Onboarding site. The Search for Brokers tab allows you to search for brokers who have a site with DAT Onboarding. Enter a search term and click Search. To see all participating brokers, click Search without entering a search term. Click on the broker s name to visit their DAT Onboarding site. Upload Attachments Section The Upload Attachments section allows you share files with broker s who use the DAT Onboarding platform as well as files to any broker. To add an attachment, click the Add Attachment link. In the pop-up window enter a Name for the file, an optional Description and a Type. Click Browse to find the file on your computer and click Open. Click the Upload button to add the file. Click Edit to change the name, description or type of an attachment. Click Save after you have made changes. Click Delete to remove an attachment. To share attachments, check the box next to any file you would like to share. Then click Share Selected Attachment. A pop-up window will open that includes a link you can to anyone with whom you would like to share the selected files. Click copy text to copy the text to your computer s clipboard to easily paste it into an . When you are done copying the link, click Close. The link will remain active for 3 days. Broker Pages

6 Login Screen Click the Log In link from the top of the page and enter your User Name and Password. Home Page The home page includes 2 links: 1. Registered Carriers: Click this to see a list of all carriers that have signed one of your contracts 2. Incomplete Carriers: Click this to see a list of all carriers that have visited your site but have not signed one of your contracts Registered Carriers Page This page lists all carriers that have signed one of your contracts. These carriers have completed your registration process and you will receive notifications about changes to their profile. The date and time of their last profile update is listed. All the status indicators will be green. Click on Name to sort by Name. Click on Last Update to sort by that column. Clicking either heading again reverses the sort order. Incomplete Carriers Page This page lists all carriers that have visited your site but have not signed one of your contracts. These carriers have not completed your registration process and you will not receive notifications about changes to their profile. A green status indicator means the carrier has completed that section of their profile. A red status indicator means the carrier has not completed that section of their profile. All contract status indicators will be red. The date and time of their last profile update is listed. Click on Name to sort by Name. Click on Last Update to sort by that column. Clicking either heading again reverses the sort order. Search for Carriers Page

7 Use this page to search for any carrier that has visited your site, either Registered or Incomplete. Registered will have all green status indicators, Incomplete will have at least 1 red status indicator. To search, select a Search Option and supply a Search Value. Then click Search. Your results will appear below. The date and time of their last profile update is listed. Click on Name to sort by Name. Click on Last Update to sort by that column. Clicking either heading again reverses the sort order. Carrier Profiles Clicking on the name of any carrier takes you to their DAT Onboarding profile. Each section has a status indicator, either green (complete) or red (incomplete). Required fields in each section are marked by a red asterisk (*). The sections of the profile include: General Info: address and government number information Payment Info: Remit To address and credit references Contacts: Contact information for up to 5 roles Services: Company type and minority ownership data as well as information on special services Coverage: Operating states and lanes Equipment: Fleet information Tax info: A copy of the W9 or W8 Insurance: Contact information for the carrier s insurance agent(s) Contracts: Lists all of your contracts which have been signed by the carrier. o Click on any column heading to sort the list by that column o Click View to save or download a copy of the version of the contract signed by the carrier Attachments: Lists all attachments added by the carrier o Click on any column heading to sort the list by that column o Click on the File Name for any attachment to save or download a copy Profile Page The profile page allows you to set preferences and administer elements such as your password and notifications. You must click Save at the top of the page after making any changes.

8 Profile Section Click on Change Password to change your password. From the next page, enter your old password, your new password and confirm your new password. Click Cancel to return without changing your password. Click Change Password to change your password. Enter a new name in the Display Name field to change how you are identified next to Welcome at the top of each page. Click the link next to Onboarding URL to view the home page of your DAT Onboarding site. The checkbox labeled W9/W8 required sets whether a carrier must complete a tax form before they can sign your contract. Uncheck the box if you want to remove this requirement. The checkbox labeled Make me searchable to carriers sets whether carriers visiting can find your site when they search for brokers. Uncheck the box if you want to be excluded from this search. Notifications Section To change the address used for notifications enter a new address in the field. Use the checkboxes to set what notification s you want to receive. Messages Section There are 2 sections of your DAT Onboarding site which you can customize: the Welcome Message which a carrier sees on your DAT Onboarding site and the Insurance Message which appears on the page where carrier s enter their insurance agent information. Click Edit Welcome Message to make changes to your welcome message. From the next page use the editor to add or edit a message. The editor supports images as well as HTML links and text formatting such as bullets and numbering. Click Save at the top of the page to save changes. A preview of the message appears at the bottom of the page. Click Edit Insurance Message to make changes to your insurance message. From the next page use the editor to add or edit a message. Design Page The design page allows you to customize the logo and color scheme for your DAT Onboarding site. To change your logo, click the Change button in the upper right corner of the page. From the logo pop-up click Browse to locate your logo image file. Click Save to set the logo or Cancel to cancel the action To change any color, click the Change button next to the section label. From the color pop-up choose a color at top or enter a Hexadecimal # in the box. Click Save to set the color or Cancel to cancel the action. Use the image on the right of the page to see how your color changes will affect your DAT Onboarding site s appearance. Contracts Page The contracts page allows you to upload contracts for carriers to sign as well as see signature information about those contracts. The page has 2 tabs: Contracts and Inactive Contracts. Only those listed in the Contracts tab are made available to carriers to sign. All contracts are listed in a table on the page. Click on the Name, Description or Date columns to sort the list. Click a second time to reverse the sort order. To add a contract, click the Add Contract button. Fill in the Contract Name and a Short Description, then browse to the contract file on your computer. Click Save to upload the contract, click Cancel to return to the Contracts page. If you have AssureSign add-on contract(s) will remain pending until the signature preparation process is complete. Click Signatures to view all carriers which have signed a contract. The list can be sorted by any column. Click Edit to change the description of a contract, make a contract inactive, delete a contract or upload a new version. To change the description, type a new description in the text box. Uncheck the Active checkbox to make a contract inactive. Inactive contracts will not be made available to carriers. You cannot make an inactive contract active again. To delete a contract, click Delete. Contracts with signatures cannot be deleted. If you want to remove them from the list that carriers see, make the contract inactive.

10 To upload a new version click Browse to find the contract file on your computer, then click Upload New Version. The current version will be made inactive and only the new version will be available for carriers to sign. Click Cancel to return to the contracts page.
