1.0 PURPOSE & SCOPE 1.1 Purpose and objective The goal of this document is to define and document a common In Situ online web based awareness training (WBT) and orientation process for Suncor s In Situ sites. Web based online training is not an initiative, but rather is a process which enables workers to demonstrate basic site safety awareness through a visible knowledge check system. This enables the Suncor designate to verify successful completion of required training prior to accessing site. 1.2 Scope This process applies to all Suncor contractors accessing or performing work at our Suncor In Situ operating sites (Firebag & MacKay River). 2.0 IN SITU ONLINE WEB BASED AWARENESS TRAINING PROCESS 2.1 Introduction The objectives of the new In Situ online training process are as follows: Reduce safety risks of exposing new site workers to operating site risks (accessing site before taking the orientation and required awareness training) Ensure on demand electronic access for contractors to online awareness courses and associated knowledge check Clearly define and document what the online training process is, as well as the roles and responsibilities of process stakeholders Improve worker productivity by eliminating site time spent completing required Suncor awareness training
2.2 Successfully completing required Online Training In order to access our web based training, contractors must successfully complete the following steps: Contractor Process: Open web browser and type www.suncor.com. 1. Click on the Contractors link in the top right hand corner of the website. 2. Click Existing Contractors 3. Click Contractor orientation 4. Follow the instructions listed on the page (steps 1-4) and review the Environmental Health & Safety Training Requirements standard (IN-CM-TRN-ST-1) to determine which web based awareness courses you are required to complete prior to accessing site. All questions regarding the standard/requirements are to be directed to the Suncor Contractor Onboarding Coordinator or Vendor representative. Please note all contractors accessing site are required to complete the site orientation in addition to additional courses defined within the standard above. The standard is available on the same web page as this document. 5. Click the online portal embedded link in step 4 above, this will launch the orientation and awareness training portal.
6. At this time, you will be launched into the online training portal. Log into contractor online training portal by providing your Suncor badge identification number (if unknown please contact your site administrator or your Suncor site contact), full first and last name, and ensure you agree to and check the legal affirmation box. 7. Ensure you have completed your Oil Sands Safety Association (OSSA) orientation. Please note this is mandatory to have completed prior to accessing site. You will be required to provide proof of OSSA completion as well as to provide government approved identification to receive your site identification card. ****Please utilize the FAQ or Technical assistance functions if you require help logging in. Please note you are required to provide your Suncor badge identification number, you cannot obtain this through the assistance features of this website.
8. Search for your course by selecting pages 1 5 from the main landing page. 9. Click Launch to open the course once you are required to complete. 10. Follow the instructions that are described upon launch of the online course. Some important points to remember: a. You must successfully answer all questions within the modules before you will be allowed to advance to the next question. b. You must successfully complete all sections in order to be eligible to receive successful course completion. Failure to complete all sections will require a retest. 11. Upon successful completion of the course, click Exit to return to the main landing page so you can begin taking the next course. Some courses will display Return to LSO, please ignore and ensure you click the Exit button to return to the main landing page.
12. Ensure that the landing page updates and reflects course completion. 13. Begin next required course by selecting Launch 14. Complete all required courses prior to accessing site as outlined above.
2.3 Acquiring your Site Identification Card Upon accessing site, please head directly to the site security kiosk (different locations for each operating site) to acquire your Suncor photo site identification card. You will need to provide the following, with no exceptions: a. Government issued photo identification b. Proof of OSSA regional orientation completion Site security will verify your credentials, as well as successful completion of the online In Situ orientation and will issue you your site identification card if all three criteria are met. 2.4 Grandfathering 1. All current, valid Suncor qualifications will be recognized. Those workers that have not been on-site for at least 12 months are encouraged to retake the online courses to ensure they are aware of basic site safety protocol. 2.4 Adherence to other Standards 1. The online web based training process is in place to ensure those workers accessing site are aware of certain hazards upon entering into the secure site area. These courses do not replace all Suncor or regional specific safety training. 2. Additional Training and/or area specific training may also be required, please contact your company representative, Suncor contact, or Suncor Environmental Health and Safety representative for more information.
