STRENGHTHENING COLLEGE OF BUSINESS AND ECONOMICS (ex-sfb) AS CENTER OF EXCELLENCE IN PROCUREMENT MANAGEMENT EDUCATION. 1. CBE has now 6 members of Faculty (5 out of the already existing faculty with already Master degrees and 1 newly recruited) with a Master in Public Procurement for Sustainable Development. 2. CBE has already enriched its library with 235 textbooks composed of 40 different current references related to procurement management topic. 3. CBE is subscribed to 3 online journals in procurement management. 4. SBE has already developed a curriculum for the new department of Procurement Management at undergraduate level as Procurement Management specialization under its already existing Bachelor s degree in Business Administration program. 5. CBE has 35 desktop computers to equip the IT-Lab for specifically the Procurement program.
Create a pool of National trainers and faculty in public procurement management. 29 participants undertook a ToT (December 5 th -23 rd, 2011) ; 5 qualified provisionally as National Trainers in Procurement management for goods, works and services, 8 qualified for goods and services and 7 qualified only for goods. In total 20 passed at least one module of the ToT while 9 completely failed. 9 Rwandans have successfully undergone the Master in Public Procurement for Sustainable Development of UNITO in Italy (These included 5 members of SBE faculty).

Delivery of first and second intake of the Master in Public Procurement for Sustainable Development. - 20 students have recently graduated from the program June 28 th, 2013. - The Second Intake has already started in August 19 th,2013 with the DL Phase and 53 participants are enrolled to the Master s Program.
The Master program is expensive. The Master is delivered on full-time basis. Expensive external stakeholders who are inevitable at this stage..
Reduction of the involvement of external stakeholders in the delivery of the Master program to make it cheap, fully owned and sustainably delivered by the College of Business and Economics (ex-sfb) under the University of Rwanda (One University). Creation of an undergraduate Procurement Management program starting this academic year 2013-2014. Continue to deliver short-courses that are more customized to the target groups.
