Keyword Analyzer Part III 1. Following are the results from our Simple Search in Keyword Analyzer. 2. If you wanted to copy the 3 different variations of a keyword phrase simply right click on it and select Copy all three variations. 1
a. Then open up a program such as Note Pad. b. Right click on a new document and select Paste. c. All 3 variations of that keyword will be pasted into the document. 3. Or you can hold the CTRL key and hit a on your keyword to select all of the results. 2
4. Now we are going to discuss related terms. Click on Related Terms in the left navigation. 5. Type your keyword in the Keywords field on the right. Then click the blue arrow. We will be using mesothelioma. 3
6. Related Terms will get the information from Google. 7. At the bottom Keyword Analyzer creates tabs so you can easily navigate to each of your searches, either your simple search or the related terms search. Simply click on the tab once to view the results. 8. If you wanted to sort the keyword phrases simply click on the Keyword Phrases heading at the top of the column. 9. The Searches column tells how many times that keyword phrase was searched on in the last month. 10. The Results column tells the number of web pages for each searched keyword. 4
11. The R/S is an actual number that uses the results divided by the number of Searches. 12. The Google Campaigns is how many AdWords campaigns there were. 13. The Overture Campaigns is how many Overture campaigns there were. 14. If you display your Simple Search results and scroll down the page you can see at the bottom how many keyword results are being displayed, which will be 100. 15. Display your Google Related results and scroll down the screen. In the following example we got an additional 42 keyword results. 16. Now we are at 142 keyword phrases. 17. We do look for keyword phrases that have 8 or more Google AdWord campaigns, which is shown in the Google Campaigns column. 18. Results that show very few Google AdWords are not going to cost us very much and we can get into the market easily. 5
19. You want to develop a big keyword list with Keyword Analyzer. To do that you start with the Simple Search, and then do a Google Related Terms search. 20. Once you have completed both searches you should highlight individual keywords that look interesting. Then right click on it and perform an Advanced Search. The following are the results of an advanced search, which gave us an additional 29 keywords. 21. However, the Advanced Search is best when you use the main keyword. 22. If you find keywords with a lot of searches but not a lot of Google AdWords campaigns you might be onto something. It also might mean that people have also tried that and it did not work for them. 6
23. In the following example for the keyword phrase clinical mesothelioma symptom there were 663 searches and only 4 AdWords campaigns. Since there are a maximum of 8 campaigns per page we would get on the first page of results. 24. Keyword Analyzer is a good tool to build a keyword list and also search for profitable keywords. 7
25. Following are the results for another example. This was for the keyword baseball using the Simple Search. 26. A great way to come up with an idea is to first start with a basic keyword, such as baseball, cars, jewelry. Then perform the Simple Search, Advanced Search, and Related Terms search on that keyword. After you are completed with all 3 searches you can look for niches within that basic keyword. With the baseball example there are quite a few different markets, such as baseball gloves, fantasy baseball, baseball cards, and so on. After you have found a niche inside the main market you can perform separate searches on that. Also, you can check out Commission Junction to see if there are affiliate programs that you can join that are about that niche market. 8
27. After you have performed a Related Terms search, click on the Google tab in the top navigation. Then click on Google bids from the drop down menu. 28. In the Google Bids prompt box click Start. 9
29. When it is finished searching for bids, scroll over to the right of your keyword results to display the column Broad bid. The Broad bid tells how much the actual bidding prices are for a keyword. 30. The next column is Broad clicks, which tells how many clicks for the broad match keyword. 10
31. Then there is the Phrase bid and Phrase clicks column, which gives the information for the phrase match keywords. 32. Finally there is the Exact bid and Exact clicks column, which gives the information for the exact match keywords. 11
33. This data with the bids tells you what you have to bid to achieve the top position, or the 3 rd position, or the 8 th position. Normally we would have to use our estimation tool in Google AdWords to find out this information. 34. Next we can show campaign links. First right click on a keyword phrase in your results. Click on Google and select Show Campaign Links. 35. The pop up box that will appear shows your competition s websites for that keyword. 12
36. Next click once to highlight a keyword phrase and click Google in the top navigation. Select Show most used campaign URLs from the drop down menu. 37. The results are the URLs that people are using to promote that keyword. 13
38. This is also another way to gather keywords because you can bid on that domain name. People do perform searches by the domain name. 39. In the next example we took one of the URLs from the results in Step 36 and performed a search on Google. 14
40. Also, you can show the titles of actual campaigns. Simply click once to highlight a keyword. Click Google and select Show titles from the drop down. 41. These results can give you ideas for when you are writing your own Google AdWords campaigns. 15
42. You can also display the words that are used in actual campaigns. Click Google and select Show words used in campaigns from the drop down menu. 16
43. You can also perform some of these same searches for Overture. First click once to highlight the keyword, click Overture and select Show titles, Show words used in campaigns or Show max bids. 44. And you can Show titles using Miva. 17
