Standard Operating Procedures Page 5 of 11 Stage 1 Liner Deployment Step 1 Mark the dimensions for the containment to insure that everything is squared up when laying the liner and installing the walls. Failing to do so could cause massive problems later on in the deployment. Step 2 Near one of the walls dig out a sump that is 3 feet wide, 8 feet long, and 1 foot deep providing a low point for draining and leak detection. Lay any excess piece of liner or the wrapping from the felt over the sump for added protection. The sump should be at least 5 feet away from the nearest wall or corner. Step 3 Use this step only when dealing with produced water or flowback. Install a leak detection system to able to identify if the containment is failing and certain actions need to be taken.

Standard Operating Procedures Page 6 of 11 Step 4 Roll out the felt liner down the center of the containment area. When dealing with larger containments it is ideal to put a thick metal pole through the roll, attach chains to both sides, and pull slowly with a tractor. Step 5 Line multiple people down the entire roll of felt liner and spread it out so that the edges lay flat right at the marked dimensions of where the toe of the walls will go. Step 6 Roll out the containment liner down the center of the felt liner. When dealing with larger containments it is ideal to put a thick metal pole through the roll, attach chains to both sides, and pull slowly with a tractor. Step 7 Line multiple people down the entire roll of containment liner and spread it out so that the entire liner is flat on the ground. The felt liner should not be visible at all once the containment liner is fully spread out.

Standard Operating Procedures Page 7 of 11 Step 8 Fold the edges of the containment liner within the pre-marked containment dimensions providing room for the walls to be set. Secure with sand bags so the wind can t get under it and lift it up. Stage 2 Wall Deployment Step 1 Place pallets of Muscle Wall strategically around the containment area. There are 12 6ft wide walls per pallet so it is most efficient to place the pallets about 72ft apart. Step 2 Always remove the upside-down wall first. One person on each side lifts the wall up, freeing the securing pegs, then lowers the wall to a comfortable carrying position. Dropping the Muscle Wall could cause damage and/or personal injury. Handle with care.

Standard Operating Procedures Page 8 of 11 Step 3 When removing the right-side up wall one person stands on each side, slides the wall to the edge, and lowers the wall to a comfortable carrying position. Step 4 One man on each side of the Muscle Wall raises it and rests it on top of the connecting wall until ready to slide into place. Once ready, connect the coupler system and allow the wall to slide into place. Be sure to exercise proper lifting techniques and to keep hands free of the joint while the Muscle Wall is sliding into place. Step 5 One or two men raise the corner piece and rest the bottom of it on top of the connecting wall until ready to attach. Once ready, connect the coupler system and allow the wall to slide into place. Step 6 Put ratchet straps though the Muscle Wall in the closest holes to the joint. Tighten only the top strap for now. The straps need to be fed into the Muscle Wall from the outside of the containment.

Standard Operating Procedures Page 9 of 11 Step 7 Unfold the containment liner and pull it up and over the containment. Do not pull liner too tight as this may be cause tenting which may lead to rips or tears. Step 8 Once the liner is in place and pulled up and over the Muscle Wall, secure the inside edge of the liner up tight against the wall with sand bags. Ensure that no tenting is occuring. Step 9 Secure the liner by cutting a small horizontal slit in the liner, pulling the safety strap through, and ratcheting it down. Only one of the straps is needed to secure the liner. It is preferable to use the bottom safety strap, but the top safety strap may also be used if the liner does not reach the bottom one. Step 10 Optional: Secure the liner down by installing the steel clip over the front and back of the Muscle Wall.

Standard Operating Procedures Page 10 of 11 Stage 3 Takedown & Consolidation Step 1 Disconnect straps, roll up, and place in a storage container. Remove liner from the wall and fold for future installations. Properly dispose of any contaminated sand and/or sand bags. Step 2 Disconnect each Muscle Wall. One person on each side lifts the wall up until the wall is free of its connection. Step 3 Stack the walls together in the same fashion as they were shipped. Turn one of the walls upside down and lay it on another wall ensuring that the pegs on top of each Muscle Wall are secured into the holes on the toe of the other wall.

Standard Operating Procedures Page 11 of 11 Step 4 Stack the Muscle Wall back on their original pallets in the same fashion as they were shipped. Ensure that all of the male ends of the walls are on the same side. Run a safety strap all the way around the bundle securing it to the pallet. Transport to storage location.
