How it Works: Breaking the Laws of Physics Eternal Hybrid works on the Counter Flow Principle. This approach is contrary to the way the industry has traditionally built water heating appliances. Unlike any other water heater appliance, Eternal has achieved the highest efficiency in the industry without sacrificing your comfort. WASTED HEAT HOT OUT COLD IN HOT OUT COLD IN WATER CAVITY BURNER BURNER FAN Tank: Engineered To Lose Heat In a tank, heat is generated from the bottom of the tank and rises through the centrally mounted exhaust. Cold water enters from the top and deposits sediments at the bottom. Over time, the efficiency of heat transfer is reduced as the burner has to work through the sediment build-up before heating the water. Since heat passes through a large body of water only once, the tank is limited in its ability to produce continuous hot water. Tankless: Engineered To Lose Pressure In a tankless, heat is generated in a bottom up fashion. Cold water passes through a series of coils that reduce water pressure in order to heat water quickly. However, the coils clog up over time with scale build-up that reduces efficiency, and eventually causes the heat exchanger to fail. Because tankless is activated by flow alone, every time a faucet is opened and closed, the heating cycle must start over again. This on/off behavior causes a cold water sandwich that impacts temperature consistency as well as delays hot water delivery to your applications.

The Eternal Hybrid s innovative 3 cycle process pushes heat in 3 directions through the water and maximizes energy transfer. In the past, going tankless meant having to change out your current plumbing and venting, not so with Eternal. By staying close to industry standards, we have significantly lowered the installation costs with going green. Eternal Hybrid features standard water connectors on top of the unit similar to traditional tanks and can sit in the same spot. If wall mounting is preferred, the small unit can save valuable floor space. The same unit is field convertible from natural gas to propane. The unit is vented with low cost 2 or 3 sch 40 PVC or sch 40 CPVC, and is sealed combustion Direct Vent, which is quiet and does not impact indoor air quality.
