HARTING smart Power Networks Visualise your energy consumption. Transparent. Intelligent. Efficient.
HARTING smart Power Networks HARTING smart Power Networks. Transparency fosters efficiency. The measurement, control and optimisation of energy consumption is becoming increasingly important to everyday business: not only because of fluctuating energy prices, but also due to stricter environmental regulations. HARTING s smart Power Networks provide companies with an energy management system that can record, document and visualise your energy consumption. The smart Power Networks delivers a data foundation for you to design and plan a more energy efficient manufacturing process. It also helps your company to quickly achieve its economic and environmental goals. The HARTING smart Power Networks components. HARTING smart Power Networks are based on individual software and hardware modules. When put together, they form an energy management system that is scalable, versatile, extensible and can easily be integrated into existing infrastructures. The smartpn-unit The smartpn-unit records and monitors data from various measuring devices. It also makes this data available on the Ethernet. The smart Power Networks systems can be easily extended because of their integrated network switch. Switching outputs enable the smartpn-units to be used for actively intervening in processes or signaling system states. The smartpn-suite The smartpn-suite is a customisable software package that prepares measurement data and gives an overview of all recorded energy usage including live view and automatic reporting features. 02 HARTING smart Power Networks
smart Power Networks the central nervous system of Integrated Industry Thanks to its open Ethernet architecture and the many interfaces available for standardised industrial busses, smart Power Networks can be integrated perfectly into the network topologies used by Integrated Industry. This facilitates information exchange between equipment and devices within networked manufacturing processes. Full transparency for your energy consumption Optimisation possibilities are easy to identify Automatic reporting and system monitoring System architecture can be customised and extended Intuitive web-based user interface Basis for an energy management system, in compliance with DIN ISO 50 001 03
HARTING smart Power Networks The smart Power Networks System Four steps with one goal: energy efficiency. Where, when and how much energy consumption is taking place? These are the urgent questions that arise, especially for complex manufacturing processes. HARTING s smart Power Networks provide the answers. This energy management system uses four distinct process steps to clearly identify your energy consumption and your optimisation possibilities. The smart Power Networks system gathers all relevant consumption data whether its electrical power, volume of compressed air, heating energy or cooling capacity from a variety of different energy consumers. You can then take advantage of the smart PN unit s standardised industrial interfaces to easily connect it with all conventional measuring devices and sensors. Measuring The consumption data recorded at the various points in your facility are then gathered and checked by the smartpn-unit. The smart Power Networks take advantage of your existing TCP/IP network infrastructure to transmit data, so that it can be integrated into your facility and extended quite simply. Collecting The smartpn-suite s software analyses and displays these measurements so that this data volume is converted into usable information. The results are presented in automated reports or via the customised webbased dashboard. Thus this consumption data, whether it comes from individual measurement points or from the entire system, is universally accessible by users. Evaluating The information displayed by the smartpn-suite gives you the basis for quickly and easily finding the potential for saving energy within your complex facility structures. Energy flows can be designed more efficiently and equipment can be switched off during pauses. The live view feature can be used to monitor energy consumption on a second-by-second basis. The web-based user interface then allows the system to be monitored from anywhere. 05
HARTING smart Power Networks Practical applications of smart Power Networks: ZEA Green Energy ZEA Green Energy is a producer of renewable energy, so energy efficiency is one of its top priorities. The company, based in Lower Saxony in Germany, produces bio-methane for industrial applications in a process that is practically carbon-neutral. It uses renewable sources such as silage from corn or root vegetables as an energy source. ZEA Green Energy takes advantage of the smart Power Networks energy management system in its facilities; smart Power enables them to use every kilowatt-hour as efficiently as possible during production while at the same time complying with SpaEfV certification. They have clear targets and expectations: Improving the energy balance with improved efficiency and optimised processes Increased awareness for the topic of transparent consumption data in support of energy efficiency Certification in compliance with the German Peak Balancing and Efficiency Ordinance (SpaEfV) 06 HARTING smart Power Networks
By implementing HARTING s smart Power Networks, ZEA Green Energy has been able to: Clearly identify and reduce the peak load for individual drives Record and analyse their energy consumption, with real-time details Clearly verify the effectiveness of energy saving measures Carry out the company certification plan on schedule 07
HARTING smart Power Networks Practical applications of smart Power Networks: HARTING Technology Group At HARTING, sustainable energy usage is not simply a short-lived trend rather it is an integral part of our corporate culture. Back in the mid-nineties, HARTING was one of the first companies in Germany to implement a comprehensive energy management plan for analysing and optimising energy usage. Our progress continues in this direction with smart Power Networks. We support an efficient energy management system that fulfils not only our own requirements, but also those of our customers. Minimal installation costs because your existing Ethernet infrastructure is used Existing meters can still be used in the system Simple expandability by adding measurement points to suit your needs Customised displays of facility topologies and equipment 08 HARTING smart Power Networks
Use of the smart Power Networks in our manufacturing facilities has enabled us to: Achieve targeted energy optimisation of our manufacturing processes Reduce our energy consumption during weekends and work breaks Install energy-efficient LED lighting systems 09
