CMT School of Beauty About Us CMT School of Beauty is newly established to provide the highest quality, short term, intensive beauty therapy training courses. During every beauty course, emphasis will be placed on practical work in small groups where each student receives a great deal of individual attention and there is a lot of opportunity to ask questions. Our students will be delighted at how quickly they learn and how confident and competent they feel after just a few days. Since short-term private beauty courses started, approximately, 23 years ago, the market has changed quite a bit. Today there are many schools offering courses but these are often held in hotels, trainers homes or in local hair or beauty salons with very little genuine quality control and consistency of standards. We have a state of the art, purpose designed training centre in St Austell equipped with the latest quality products and equipment essential for today s professional courses. The centre will be regularly inspected by verifiers from our qualification awarding bodies. Following successful completion of your beauty training all students are awarded The CMT School of Beauty Diploma, which allows you to obtain insurance and start your own business working from home or as a mobile beauty therapist. To be employed in a salon or spa you will need to have an NVQ qualification and we have designed our courses to help you achieve this level as quickly and as economically as possible. We also offer a selection of more advanced beauty courses that enable those already skilled in the industry to further their abilities. The CMT School of Beauty NVQ course is a great flexible way for students to achieve an 'industry-ready' qualification. Following practical training days, students are sent written assignments and a list of treatments to complete from home. Additional practical support days are also available on request. To comply with the rigorous NVQ assessment procedure, it is essential that students can provide female models to work on during their assessment days. Written tests are an essential part of an NVQ qualification. A good command of the English language, both written and verbal is therefore required to complete this award. Following your intensive CMT School of Beauty Diploma courses, approximately 16-20 weeks should be allowed to achieve the NVQ Level qualification. The course prices include training, assessment and registration fees. Starter Kits are highly recommended so that you can start practicing and earning as soon as the course finishes. Page 6

Qualifications Question: "Is the CMT School of Beauty Diploma all I need or will I need an NVQ or equivalent?" If you wish to work as a mobile therapist or become self-employed, you will require The CMT School of Beauty Diploma. This will enable you to obtain your public liability insurance so you can work on the paying public. The CMT School of Beauty Diploma is recommended for: Those looking for a fast-track into the beauty industry Complete beginners with no previous experience Existing therapists wishing to update their skills Therapists requiring CPD points It will enable you to start a business working mobile or start a business working from home. Following successful completion of The CMT School of Beauty Diploma, you have the option to continue to study towards the NVQ qualification. The NVQ qualification is recommended for: Those wishing to work in a salon, spa or cruise ship - minimum requirements are NVQ Levels 2 or 3. Those wishing to open their own high street premises. Those wishing to open accounts with premium product suppliers. Externally accredited qualifications greatly increase your chances of gaining employment. NVQ qualifications indicate to an employer that you are able to perform treatments competently and within a commercially acceptable time. These qualifications are widely recognised by employers looking for skilled therapists in the beauty industry. In many areas, The CMT School of Beauty Diploma will enable you to open your own beauty salon. However in larger cities, particularly London, your local council may require you to hold an NVQ qualification in order to issue you with a Special Treatments Licence. The CMT School of Beauty offers a good range of NVQ courses. The Level 2 qualification is similar to a GCSE at A*-C, Key Skills 2, GNVQ Intermediate and Functional Skills 2. The level 3 qualification is similar to an A Level, GNVQ or Key Skills 3. NB: A good command of the English language, both written and verbal is required to complete a NVQ qualification. Page 8
Are you Eligible for a 24+ Loan? If you are over 24 and interested in a Level 3 course you may be eligible for a 24+ Advanced Learning Loan. These loans can help you pay your course fees. The CMT School of Beauty is working in partnership with learndirect to offer you these loans via the Student Loans Company. It s easy to apply, your household income isn t taken into account and there s no credit check. You won t have to pay anything back until your income is more than 21,000 a year and the first repayment won t be until after April 2016. Ready to get started? The first step in the process is to discuss your training requirements with our Funding Officers. We will be happy to discuss with you the courses we are approved to offer and how the training will enable you to progress in your beauty career. When you have selected the course you wish to study, we will give you a provisional start and end date for your training. The funding officer will then refer you to learndirect who will explain the application process for 24+ Advanced Learning Loans. If your loan application is successful you will be sent an acceptance letter. We can then get you started on your exciting journey. Page 9

Every 4-6 weeks clients return for another treatment so you have a continual source of income. Earn up to 50 per hour working when it suits you! No previous experience needed to take this waxing course. Hair removal, using wax, is one of the most popular and profitable salon treatments. Wax depilation provides a quick and efficient way of clearing small and large areas of unwanted hair. Waxing is particularly popular during the summer months.
