Main outcomes and recommendations 1. Role of Eu /UNECE initiatives (Eu water initiatives for the EEECA region) Practical assistance to strengthen IWRM /UNECE, WFD, Policy packages (strategies, legal tools, governmental directives, ) 2. Develop permanent International platforms as international river commissions, river basin organizations: For peaceful process: they develop trust among parties (ISC) For transversal politics linked to water: agriculture, tourism, transport,.. For prospective and innovation (Austria, new fields as microplastics) For public participation (Sava water council, NGOs, ) 3. Develop Joint Operational Programmes between countries For reducing risks of flooding (automatic monitoring network in Romania - Ukraine Moldova, Common floods protection plan in Romania) For adaptation to climate change (modelling future water resources NEYMO project for river Neysse - Germany /Poland) For biodiversity protection (Prespanet) 6 23/10/2015

Main outcomes and recommendations ISSUES OF COORDINATION 1. Transversality : settle water governance bodies at different levels of the water hierarchy linked to others sectors, others stakeholders 2. Build coherence between EU directives, UNECE convention, 3. Transboundary cooperation for climate change adaptation 4. Necessary commitment of governments to support transboundary coordination 5. Importance of Local, regional initiatives for local implementation: the key roles of NGOs and self governance. 7 23/10/2015

Main outcomes and recommendations 5 RECOMMENDATIONS 1. Develop financial and economic tools of IWRM ( financial and economic plan, economic assessment, labor input, balance sheets, ) 2. International exchange as motor innovation 3. Raising external funds through agreed projects Transboundary water management through improved data, 4. Information & knowledge transfer management 5.
