Side scan sonar surveys A Side Scan Sonar system is used to efficiently create an image of large areas of the sea floor. GEOxyz uses this tool for mapping the seabed for a wide variety of purposes, including creation of nautical charts and detection and identification of underwater objects and bathymetric features. 16 Debris and obstacles along Offshore Wind Farm Export Cable - Offshore Zeebrugge - Belgium

GEOSURVEYOR V SUPPORT ACTIVITIES Site investigations Geophysical surveys multibeam singlebeam high resolution seismic side scan sonar magnetometry Bottom and sediment sampling Density and shear strength measurements 17 Dimensions: Length: 7,14m Speed: Maximum: 22 knots Licensed for: 4 passengers + 2 crew Width: 2,50m Cruising: 16 knots 60 nautical miles Draft: 0,40m

Nautical bottom surveys GEOxyz uses DensiTune & RheoTune to monitor the nautical bottom. In many ports, the monitoring of the nautical bottom with standard acoustical methods is not always the best solution. In muddy areas a combination of survey techniques (acoustic measurements & density / shear strength measurements) is required to determine the nautical bottom. 22

2.3 Geotechnical Services Vibrocorer shallowcoring Boxcorer Vanveengrab Pistoncorer Mudsampling GEOxyz provides suitable solutions in bottom sampling. GEOxyz owns bottom sampling equipment which is used to determine the characteristics of the first few meters of the sea-floor. These bottom samplers can for instance be used for environmental research, civil engineering and sand search campaigns for the dredging industry. 30

Piston Corer GEOxyz uses the piston corer to take samples from soft, cohesive soils. Penetration of the sea-floor is achieved by gravity only. With a purpose-built trigger mechanism, the actual distance of free fall towards the seafloor can be adjusted. 31

Van Veen Grab GEOxyz boxcorer is designed to take undisturbed samples from the top layer of the seafloor. It can be used for almost every type of sediment. Operating the standard box corer is relatively straghtforward. When the frame reaches the seafloor, a weight is taken off the hoist cable and the trigger mechanism releases the Cylinder-shaped core box. The box will then penetrate the seafloor to a maximum of 50 centimeters as a result of its own weight. Mud Sampling GEOxyz s sludge and sediment samplers retain relatively undisturbed samples from non-cohesive materials, including underwater sediment in shallow lakes, streams and various types of impoundments. 32

2.4 Topography GPS navigation and surveys Surveys of routes, high-ways & infrastructure Industrial measurements Atimetry, 3D modeling, DTM, GIS Deformation monitoring and analysis Volume calculations Surveys of existing situations for purchase & selling of property Building application Survey of facades and architecture Landscaping, environmental issues, separation of properties,... Surveys of sewer systems and infrastructures Appraisal of real estate General topographic support CAD 33

Laserscanning 34

Total Station GEOxyz is active in topographic surveying. This involves the production data & maps which are true to scale. Fully automated and computerised data capture with the correct coding enable surveys to be easily processed onto the correct layers on returning to the office, shortening survey turn around times. GPS Whether it is simply measurement on a small site or major GPS networks involving detailed GPS processing and least squares adjustment, to topographic surveys using RTK via a base station or GPS correction service, GEOxyz has the expertise to deliver. 35
