Expressive Therapy Expressive therapies, such as music therapy and sand tray therapy, allow individuals in recovery to express themselves without words. The process is powerful in strengthening physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs. Acupuncture When performed during the detoxification phase of treatment, acupuncture at points in the ear can decrease cravings, depression and anxiety as well as improve sleep and concentration. Dialectal Behavioral Therapy Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Skills Training teaches individuals in addiction treatment the critical coping skills of mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness and emotion regulation. 5
