Gran Canaria (Canary Islands Spain) Dear participants, Welcome to training course Young Entrepreneurs and Fundraising that will bring to Gran Canaria, 27 participants from 5 countries: Portugal, Greece, United Kingdom, Bulgaria and Spain. This is a project organized by Cabildo de Gran Canaria and co-funded by Erasmus Plus Programme. In this document you will find the necessary information before coming to Gran Canaria. It is the Government of Gran Canaria island (one of the seven Canary Islands Spain-) and it is organized in departments. PROJECT TYPE The project called Young Entrepreneurs and Fundraising (Key Action 1 Training Course TC), aims to make easier the access to the knowledge and to the tools needed to be an entrepreneur. Young Entrepreneurs and Fundraising is a training course designed to improve entrepreneurial skills and to know several techniques for fundraising. For 6 days between 13 and 18 March 2015, a total of 27 people from Portugal, United Kingdom, Greece, Bulgaria and Spain will meet in order to share experiences, to learn methods of fundraising and skills about communication and creations of projects. The training consists in theoretical and practical activities, like sessions and workshops, on the next themes: - Essentials of work-world (employment, unemployment, labor market, etc.). - Trends, tensions and strategies on youth employment in Europe. - Youth work approach on youth employment in Europe. - Youth work approach on youth employment: Non-formal Education and its effect on youth employment. - Learning reflections on project practices from different European countries. - Intercultural learning and multicultural partnerships. - Erasmus + programme and project planning. Trainers will use non-formal education methods. Among the specified themes, participants will have the opportunity to interact with specialists in the entrepreneur field, to visit Youth companies and to find out more about EU Youth Programme Erasmus Plus. AIM AND OBJETIVES The main aim of this course is to inform about opportunities to find financial resources for your project/businessand the possibilities that offers the new programme Erasmus Plus. The Training Course is for youth workers as well as youngsters interested in to create new projects.
The aim of Young Entrepreneurs and Fundraising training course is to offer an international learning experience to active practitioners in the youth work field, enabling them to develop their competences in setting up quality Youth Exchanges as mobility projects under the Key Action 1 of the Erasmus+ Programme. General Objectives: - Provide tools on how to develop youth inner potential, youth creativity and youth enterprise spirit. - Work and exchange on methods on how to empower young people to develop their own project. - Propose methods for the identification of competences gained in non formal activities and informal activities. - Imagine new links between learning in NFA and youth employment entities and the working world. - Increase the employability of all young people (youth with fewer opportunities included). WORKING METHODS We will use a mix of the following methods depending on the needs of the participants and the group dynamic: - Theoretical input. - Creativity workshops. - Good practices sharing (local and european). - Visits. All of this methodology will be implemented when performing activities that help participants to develop their skills and abilities required for the performance of leadership, such as emotional intelligence, proactivity, motivation, communication, teamwork, conflict resolution, etc.

ACTIVITY DATES This training course will last six days, from 13 th March to 18 th March, 2015. LANGUAGE The official language of the training course will be English. PARTICIPANTS This TC is aimed to youth workers, social youth workers, youth group leader, youth officer, municipal youth service responsible, EVS mentors, youth exchange responsible person, youth coach (youth initiatives), etc. who want develop projects that will improve the labour market. Young people, aged 18-30. Youth workers, no aged limited. Prom. Gender balance is important, but is it not a requirement. Please try to select motivated youth workers and/or young entrepreneurs.
Arrival: 12 th March. Departure: 19 th March. TRAVEL DETAILS IMPORTANT!!! We will provide transfer from Gran Canaria airport to the venue (Santa Brígida) on the 12 th and on the 19 th only. We will arrange the details of the pick up as soon as we have your application form. As much as possible, each group should try to arrive to Gran Canaria at the same time. The tickets must be booked by 20 th February. IMPORTANT!!! Please do not buy your tickets until we announce you to do so. All travel costs must be previously informed and confirmed by Cabildo de Gran Canaria Staff. TRAVEL COSTS AND REIMBURSEMENTS Travel costs will be fully covered by Erasmus Plus Programme. There is no participation fee. Our limit for co-financing for international travel costs is: Participants from United Kingdom: 360 00 per person. Participants from Greece: 530,00 per person. Participants from Portugal: 275,00 per person. Participants from Bulgaria: 820,00 per person. Any cost exceeding those amounts should be afforded by the sending organization/participant. The project will not cover the extra days. IMPORTANT: Please do not buy your tickets until we announce you to do so.
To reimburse travel costs we will need all your tickets, boarding passes and invoices or receipts from your travel agency or transport company. Please collect all boarding passes, invoices and tickets for international travel costs which will be necessary for reimbursement procedure. Characteristics about the hotel: - Activities end at 11 p.m. From this time, it is forbidden to make loud noises. - Is not allowed to have alcohol in the hostal. Except in the Intercultural night.
- There are not TV. - Is not possible to washing up the clothes, so please you should to bring clothes for all the week. - The WIFI is only available in the training room. FOOD AND SPECIAL NEEDS The participants will be provided with three meals breakfast, lunch, and dinner-. Any other extra expense must be afforded by the participant. For any special needs (health problems, special diet, etc.) please contact our staff. We will not be able to take in consideration any special need not included on the application form. Keep in mind that your presentation should be short and dynamic because the other participants get tired of watching long presentations. Bring information about activities that your organization is planning to do in the future which require other international partners, as this training can be a good opportunity for meeting future partners and to build future cooperation. CAMERA AND/OR LAPTOP Bring your computer and/or camera if you have, it will be very useful during activities. TOWEL SHOWER AND INDOOR CLOTHES BRING YOUR PERSONAL HYGIENE PRODUCTS (like shampoo, gel, etc.) INTERCULTURAL EVENING GOODS For each participant should the intercultural evening bring something typical from their country. We challenge you to share something you especially from your home or the place. IMPORTANT: it is no allowed for externals to cook any kind of food inside the facilities so, please, bring only food that will not require heating. WEATHER It can be nice during the day, but quite cold when the sun is down (or colder than you will be expecting from the Canary Islands at least!!!), so bring warm clothes. GOOD MOOD Bring with you the best motivation and mood to meet new cultures and make new friends. This program is susceptible to change without notice.
