What You Can Do with Canon Mobile Scanning for Business You can scan, manage documents, and print from an iphone or ipad using a Canon multifunction device on a network. New Functions in This Version Support for scanning of 2-sided documents from imageclass/i-sensys series. Configuration of scan settings and execution of scanning from mobile terminals when scanning from imagerunner ADVANCE devices, by means of free Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application. About the Scan Functions For imagerunner ADVANCE series The data scanned at the device is transmitted to a mobile terminal. If the Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application is installed in the device you are using, the scan settings are configured at the mobile terminal. If it is not installed, configure the scan settings using the <Scan and Send> function. Supported Settings Color/Select Color Auto (Color/Gray), Auto (Color/B&W), Color, Grayscale, Black & White Resolution 150 x 150 dpi, 300 x 300 dpi, 600 x 600 dpi Original Size/Scan Size Auto, A4, A4R, A3, A5, A5R, B4, B5, B5R, LTR, LTRR, LGL, STMT, STMTR, 11x17 File Format PDF (Compact), PDF, JPEG, TIFF, PDF (OCR), PDF (Compact & OCR), OOXML (pptx), OOXML (docx), PDF (Encrypt)*, XPS* *Can only be set when using the <Scan and Send> function. 2-Sided Original/2-Sided Off, Book Type, Calendar Type Original Type Text, Photo, Text/Photo Density Nine levels Available settings differ depending on the device model. If you configure the scan settings on a mobile terminal, <Different Size Originals> is not supported. For imageclass/i-sensys series You can operate the device from the mobile terminal and capture the scanned data. Supported Settings Original Placement ADF (1-Sided), ADF (2-Sided), Platen Glass Color Color, Grayscale Resolution 150 x 150 dpi, 300 x 300 dpi Original Size A4, LTR, LGL File Format PDF, JPEG Available settings differ depending on the device model. Depending on the device model, you may need to update the firmware. ( "How to Update the Firmware (imageclass/i-sensys Series)") If you select [ADF (2-Sided)] for [Original Placement], and scan a document with binding on the short edge, even numbered pages will not be scanned in the correct orientation. About the Print Functions To use the print functions, you need to install Canon Mobile Printing Version 2.0.0 or later in your mobile terminal beforehand. You can access the Canon Mobile Printing download page by searching "Canon Mobile Printing" in the App Store. For more information about the printing method, see "Printing Scanned Data." For details about Canon Mobile Printing, refer to the Canon Mobile Printing help. If you use PIXMA Printing Solutions or Canon Easy-PhotoPrint, you can print data scanned using Canon Mobile Scanning for Business on a PIXMA series or SELPHY series device. To find out about supported models, search "PIXMA Printing Solutions" or "Canon Easy-PhotoPrint" in the App Store, and access the download page. Depending on the file format of scanned data, you may not be able to use PIXMA Printing Solutions or Canon Easy-PhotoPrint. Canon Mobile Scanning FAQs - as of May 2014 Page 7 of 38

Selecting/Detecting the Device Selecting the Device The selected device is displayed at the bottom of the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen. To select or register an additional device, tap [ ] in the top right corner of the home screen tap [Select Device] search for the device in the [Select Device] screen. Automatic Discovery of a Device on the Same Network Manual Search by Specifying IP Address/DNS Tapping [ ] in the [Select Device] screen enables you to confirm detailed device information. ( "Confirming Device Information") Tapping [ ] or [ ] at the bottom of the home screen enables you to switch the selection. If [Detect Device] is displayed at the bottom of the home screen, the device is not registered. Tapping [Detect Device] enables you to search for the device. Depending on the device model, you may need to update the firmware. ( "How to Update the Firmware") If [Dedicated Port Settings] at the device is set to [Off] when you update the firmware that supports this app, a message prompting you to update the firmware will be displayed when you register the device. Automatic Discovery of a Device on the Same Network You can register up to ten devices in the [Select Device] screen list. If ten devices are already registered, perform a search after deleting a registered device. ( "Confirming Device Information") Depending on the network environment to which the mobile terminal is connected, the device might not be discovered by [Select Device] - [Auto Search]. If this happens, enter the IP address of the device in [Manual Search]. If the device is still not discovered, check the network settings of the device, the wireless router, and the mobile terminal, or contact your network administrator. 1. In the [Select Device] screen, tap [Auto Search]. Discovered devices are displayed. If the device you want to use is not displayed, follow the procedure "Manual Search by Specifying IP Address/DNS" below. 2. Select the device tap [Add]. Manual Search by Specifying IP Address/DNS You can register up to ten devices in the [Select Device] screen list. If ten devices are already registered, perform a search after deleting a registered device. ( "Confirming Device Information") 1. In the [Select Device] screen, tap [Manual Search]. 2. Enter the IP address or DNS name of the device you want to use tap [OK]. To confirm the IP address of the device, see "How to Confirm the IP Address of the Device." If you search by specifying a DNS, enter the host name or FQDN (format including host name, sub-domain name, and domain name) such as described in <FQDN Entry Sample> below. When you cannot specify the device with a host name, enter the FQDN. <FQDN Entry Sample> If the host name is "device01", the sub-domain name is "aaa", and the domain name is "bbb.com": device01.aaa.bbb.com 3. Confirming Device Information Tap [ ] in the top right corner of the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen tap [Select Device]. The [Select Device] screen is displayed. [Select Device] Screen Device List The registered devices are displayed in list form. To change the device to be used, tap the device name. The icon indicates the following content. [ ]: Devices whose maximum paper width is A4/Letter. Devices that do not have this icon can print larger paper sizes than A4/Letter. [Edit] [ ]/[ ]: Color/B&W printers. [ ]: There is information from the device. Display the Remote UI from the [Device Details] screen and check the information. You can edit the list after tapping [Edit]. [ ]: Tap this and tap [Delete] to delete the device from the list. [ ] (Access Point) Displays the wireless LAN connection state and access point SSID. [Device Details] Screen Tapping [ ] in the [Select Device] screen enables you to check detailed information. Displays the device status, [Device Name], [Product Name], [IP Address], and [MAC Address]. [Remote UI] You can display the Remote UI for the device. When a [Check the details using the Remote UI.] message is displayed in [Scanner]/[Printer], tap [Remote UI] to check the information. To return to this app after displaying the Remote UI, tap [M Scanning] in the home screen of your mobile terminal. Depending on the device, you might not be able to display the Remote UI from the mobile terminal. If this happens, check the status of the device at the Remote UI displayed from the PC or the control panel of the device. If the Remote UI is displayed from the mobile terminal, you may not be able to use some functions such as file operations. If this happens, perform the operations from the Remote UI displayed from the PC or the control panel of the device. [Support Site] You can access the Canon support site. Scanning (imagerunner ADVANCE Series) You can receive data scanned in the Canon multi-function device on your mobile terminal. You can configure scan settings and execute scanning from a mobile terminal by installing the free Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application on an imagerunner ADVANCE device. Perform operations on the mobile terminal after starting the MEAP application from the touch panel display of the multi-function device. To use the Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application, you need to install Canon Mobile Scanning for Business Version 1.0.1 or later in your mobile terminal beforehand. You can download the latest version of Canon Mobile Scanning for Business from the App Store. The Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application should be installed by an administrator of the multi-function device. For details about the procedure for installing the application, refer to the support site. You can access the support site by tapping [App Support Site] in the help screen of this app. If you set [On] for [Preferences] > [Network] > [TCP/IP Settings] > [Proxy Settings] at the multi-function device, scanning using Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application may not operate correctly. Configure scan settings using the <Scan and Send> function of the multi-function device if you cannot use the Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application. ( "Scanning (imagerunner ADVANCE Series When Using the <Scan and Send> Function)") The Multi-function Device Operations 1. Set the original on the platen glass or feeder of the multi-function device. 2. Press [Canon Mobile Scanning] on the touch panel display. If the icon above is not displayed, press [Show All] in the Main Menu to change the display. 3. In the <Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application> screen, confirm [Device Name] and [IP Address]. Mobile Terminal Operations 1. In the Home screen of your mobile terminal, tap [M Scanning]. 2. Confirm or select the multi-function device you are using in the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen. Refer to the device name/ip address displayed in the <Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application> screen of the multi-function device. For details about the setting procedure, see "Selecting/Detecting the Device." 3. Tap [Scan]. Canon Mobile Scanning FAQs - as of May 2014 Page 14 of 38

A message is displayed if the Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application is not running on the multifunction device. If this happens, start the Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application on the multifunction device, then tap [Continue]. 4. In the [Scan] screen, configure the scan settings if required. You can specify the [Color], [Resolution], [Original Size], [File Format], [2-Sided Original], [Original Type], and [Density] settings. If you are using an ipad, you can change the scan settings by tapping [ of the screen. ] at the bottom If you set items that cannot be set simultaneously, a message prompting you to change the settings is displayed. If you tap [OK], the settings are changed. Set the supported scan functions and file formats at the multi-function device. If you set unsupported functions and file formats, a message is displayed when scanning and scanning is canceled. If this happens, operation might be improved by decreasing the resolution or changing the file format in the scan settings. When you select [PDF (OCR)] or [PDF (Compact & OCR)] for [File Format] and scan a 2- sided document, if you set [On] for [Function Settings] > [Common] > [Generate File] > [OCR (Text Searchable) Settings] > [Smart Scan] at the multi-function device, the document may be scanned in a different orientation to that of the [2-Sided Original] setting of this app. Canon Mobile Scanning FAQs - as of May 2014 Page 15 of 38

5. Tap [Scan]. If you scan from the platen glass, the confirmation screen is displayed at the control panel of the multi-function device. When you want to continue scanning: Set the original press [ ] (Start). When you want to finish scanning: Press [Start Sending]. When scanning is finished, a preview of the scanned data (for JPEG and PDF formats) or a file icon (for TIFF and OOXML formats) is displayed in Canon Mobile Scanning for Business. In an iphone 4/4s/iPad 2/iPad mini (1st generation) with ios 7.0 or later installed, data scanned in PDF format with 600 dpi resolution is not previewed. If you want to preview the scanned data, rescan with reduced resolution. You can perform the following operations on the scanned data. Scanning (imagerunner ADVANCE Series When Using the <Scan and Send> Function) You can receive scanned data on your mobile terminal using the <Scan and Send> function of the Canon multi-function device. Use this function if you cannot use the Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application. If you install the free Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application in an imagerunner ADVANCE device, you can scan more simply and easily than by using the <Scan and Send> function. ( "Scanning (imagerunner ADVANCE Series)") Mobile Terminal Operations 1. In the Home screen of your mobile terminal, tap [M Scanning]. 2. 3. In the scan screen, check the host name in [Host Name]. When performing operations at the multi-function device, input the host name displayed in this screen. The Multi-function Device Operations 1. Set the original on the platen glass or feeder. 2. Press [Scan and Send] [New Destination]. 3. Press [File]. 4. In the <File> screen, set the destination. [Protocol]: Select [WebDAV]. [Host Name]: Enter the host name displayed in the [Scan] screen of Canon Mobile Scanning for Business. 5. Press [OK]. Change the scan settings if required. If you register settings in the Quick Menu when scanning, you can recall the registered settings later by simply pressing the button you have assigned them. ( "Registering Settings to the Device Quick Menu (imagerunner ADVANCE Series When Using the <Scan and Send> Function)") In Canon Mobile Scanning for Business, some scan settings may not be applied. ( "About the Scan Functions") The default setting of the WebDAV port number is "80". You can change the port number. ( "Setting the WebDAV Port") If you changed the port number, when setting the host name on the control panel of the multi-function device, enter the name including the new port number. ( "Setting the WebDAV Port") <Entry Sample> If the IP address is "192.168.0.xxx" and the new port number is "8080": http://192.168.0.xxx:8080/ 6. Press [ ] (Start). Scanning starts. When scanning is finished, a preview of the scanned data (for JPEG and PDF formats) or a file icon (for TIFF, XPS, and OOXML formats) is displayed in Canon Mobile Scanning for Business. In an iphone 4/4s/iPad 2/iPad mini (1st generation) with ios 7.0 or later installed, data scanned in PDF format with 600 dpi resolution or in Encrypted PDF format is not previewed. If you want to preview the scanned data, rescan with reduced resolution and without encryption. You can perform the following operations on the scanned data. Scanning (imageclass/i- SENSYS Series) You can operate the Canon multi-function device from the mobile terminal and capture the scanned data. The Multi-function Device Operations 1. Set the original on the platen glass or feeder. 2. Press [Scan]. 3. Press [ ] or [ ] to select <Remote Scanner> press [OK]. A remote scanner waiting (online) screen is displayed. Some device models enable you to set the scanner to go online automatically. If you set the device to go online automatically, steps 2 and 3 are unnecessary. Mobile Terminal Operations 1. In the Home screen of your mobile terminal, tap [M Scanning]. 2. In the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen, tap [Scan]. Canon Mobile Scanning FAQs - as of May 2014 Page 20 of 38

3. In the [Scan] screen, configure the scan settings if required. You can specify the [Original Placement], [Color], [Resolution], [Original Size], and [File Format] settings. If you are using an ipad, you can change the scan settings by tapping [ of the screen. 4. Tap [Scan]. ] at the bottom Scanning starts. Printing Scanned Data You can print data scanned in "Scanning (imagerunner ADVANCE Series)" or "Scanning (imageclass/i-sensys/satera Series)." To use the print functions, you need to install Canon Mobile Printing Version 2.0.0 or later in your mobile terminal beforehand. ( "About the Print Functions") 1. In the preview screen, tap [ ]. The [Preview] screen of Canon Mobile Printing is displayed. 2. Confirm or select the device you want to use. The device selected in Canon Mobile Scanning for Business is displayed in [Printer]. If you cannot connect to the device, the device you previously selected in Canon Mobile Printing is displayed. If you want to select another device, tap [Printer] select a device return to the [Preview] screen. You can select a Canon Mobile Printing compatible device in the [Select Printer] screen as the print Canon Mobile Scanning FAQs - as of May 2014 Page 22 of 38

destination even if it is not supported by this app. 3. If required, tap the print settings configure the required settings return to the [Preview] screen. 4. In the [Preview] screen, tap [Print]. Tapping [Back] in the [Preview] screen of Canon Mobile Printing, returns you to the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business screen without performing a printing. For details about print setting procedures, refer to the Canon Mobile Printing help or support site. Using My Documents You can manage, email, and print files saved in your mobile terminal. In the Canon Mobile Scanning for Business home screen, tap [Documents] [My Documents] [Images] or [Documents]. Files are saved in following, depending on the format. JPEG, TIFF: [Images] or [Camera Roll] PDF, XPS, OOXML: [Documents] Editing the Names of Files 1. Setting the Default Email Destination You can set the destination for emailing scanned data beforehand. You can also change the destination in the mailer when emailing. Setting the WebDAV Port You can set the WebDAV port number used when scanning with an imagerunner ADVANCE device. The default setting is "80". 1. The Device Is Not Detected Check the following. If the device is not detected even after you have confirmed the following, restart the mobile terminal. The device may be detected. If the device is still not discovered, consult your network administrator about the network environment. Canon Device Does the device you are using support Canon Mobile Scanning for Business? ( "About Support Devices") Are the scan functions of the device enabled? The imagerunner ADVANCE C5250/C5240 printer model, which does not support scanning functions, is not detected. Search Method ( "Selecting/Detecting the Device") Can you discover the device from [Select Device] - [Manual Search]? Depending on the network environment to which the mobile terminal is connected, the device might not be discovered by [Select Device] - [Auto Search]. If this happens, you need to do a manual search. Can you discover the device when searching for devices manually by entering the FQDN (format including host name, subdomain name, and domain name)? <FQDN Entry Sample> If the host name is "device01", the subdomain name is "aaa", and the domain name is "bbb.com": device01.aaa.bbb.com Network Settings of the Mobile Terminal Is [Settings] - [Wi-Fi] enabled on your mobile terminal? Is an HTTP proxy set on your mobile terminal? If an HTTP proxy is set in the network settings of the mobile terminal, depending on the device you may not be able to connect correctly from this app. If this happens, contact your network administrator. How to Confirm the IP Address of the Device You can confirm the IP address from the network settings screen of the device. For details, refer to the manuals provided with the device. In the case of a device for which manager settings have been configured, you need to enter a password. Restrictions When Separating Files When scanning a plurality of originals and outputting a JPEG format file, the scanned data will be separated into multiple files. When scanning with an imagerunner ADVANCE device, you can set the <Divide into Pages> function at the device. In these cases, perform the following operations. Save/Email/Print Save, email, or print only the file displayed in the preview screen. Perform operations on the required files one file at a time. * are displayed in the names of the files that you have not saved emailed, or printed. File Preview Tap [ ] or [ ] at the bottom of the preview screen to switch between and check file previews. In ipads with ios 5.x installed, if you preview scanned data separated into multiple files, switching the display between the previous page and next page may not operate correctly. If this happens, operation might be improved by lowering the scanned data size by decreasing the resolution in the scan settings of the device. This problem does not occur in ios 6 and later. Cannot Scan If you are scanning from an imagerunner ADVANCE using the <Scan and Send> function, and set a file name at the device that includes diacritical marks or certain symbols such as double-byte characters, umlauts, and/or accents, the data cannot be correctly received in this app and a transmission failure error message will be displayed at the device. When specifying a file name at the device, enter a file name using single-byte roman characters or single-byte symbols (ASCII characters). If you are scanning from an imagerunner ADVANCE and are using ios 5.x with an ipad, this app may not operate correctly depending on the size of the scanned data. If this happens, reducing the scanned data amount by lowering the resolution in the scan settings etc. will improve operation. This phenomenon does not occur from ios 6 onward. If you scan data with a high resolution setting, the operations of this app may become unstable. In order to stabilize operations, reduce the resolution when scanning. If [Management Settings] > [License/Other] > [MEAP Settings] > [Use SSL] is set to [On] on an imagerunner ADVANCE device and the version of certificate used in SSL is "X.509v1", you may not be able to configure scan settings on a mobile terminal even if the Canon Mobile Scanning MEAP Application is installed in the device. If this is the case, use the <Scan and Send> function of the device. ( "Scanning (imagerunner ADVANCE Series When Using the <Scan and Send> Function)") You can also solve this problem by changing the certificate version to "X.509v3" or higher at the device.
