The Building Blocks to a Lifetime of Learning Children grow, change and develop every day physically, intellectually, socially. At the Apple Blossom Children s Learning Center, available to employees of Boehringer Ingelheim, a child s healthy development is our number one priority. Providing personalized care and unique learning opportunities for children from six weeks to age twelve, the Apple Blossom Children s Learning Center offers a safe, secure, nurturing and engaging environment of development and discovery for the youngest members of the Boehringer Ingelheim family.

A bout The Center Center is more than just day care. It is truly a learning center, focused on providing a well-rounded, robust and dynamic educational experience for children. Our goal is to bring all the right elements together to create the most enriching environment for each and every child from the day they join us to the day they leave. Top-Notch Teachers Lead the Way Every Day At the Apple Blossom Children s Learning Center, our teachers are caring, experienced education professionals who are committed and dedicated to the Center s children. Every teacher is focused on forming a strong bond with each child right from the start. One key quality we ensure all of our teachers possess is something that can t be taught: the passion for what they do. This helps ensure that our teachers instill in each and every child the joy and love of learning every day. Center is operated and staffed by Knowledge Learning Corporation, a leading national early childhood care and education company that serves more than 200,000 children nationwide at more than 2,000 community centers and 120 employerpartnership centers like the Center at Boehringer Ingelheim. All educators are required to hold a university degree or a CDA and to receive extensive professional development by Knowledge Learning Corporation to ensure they remain highly qualified and well trained. Throughout the year, teachers stay current on the most recent developments in education, ensuring that each child receives the best and most up-to-date care and learning opportunities possible. In addition, for the safety and security of every child, teachers are required to be American Red Cross certified in First Aid, CPR and medication administration, and are subject to extensive and rigorous background checks.

Helping Children Grow Together! We believe that parents are a child s first and best teachers, playing a key role even when they are not present during the day. We honor the role of parents, and recognize that a critical element in a child s learning process is the teamwork and partnership of teachers and parents working together toward the same goal: the healthy, wellrounded development of children. To ensure clear, open and honest dialogue between teachers and parents, the Apple Blossom Children s Learning Center is committed to actively listening to parents, understanding their needs and the needs of their children, and encouraging and facilitating ongoing communication. We turn this commitment into a reality by: Updating parents daily on their child s progress and learning experiences, including milestones, activities and developmental achievements; Scheduling regular parent/teacher conferences; Communicating through newsletters that highlight upcoming activities and events; Establishing parent communication boards; Providing written communication to parents specific to each child s needs, including regular assessments and daily sheets for younger children; Offering regular parent events for families; Sharing our comprehensive curriculum plans so parents know what their child is learning. At Apple Blossom Children s Learning Center, staying connected with parents and sharing the development and excitement of their child s experiences is critical in the learning process. Putting Childrens Development into Play Childhood is a unique time of discovery, wonder, growing curiosity and boundless imagination. And every child is a unique individual with a wide variety of interests and needs. That s why the Apple Blossom Children s Learning Center offers an abundance of opportunities for children at all stages of development to explore, question, communicate and create in a fun, supportive and engaging environment. Our philosophy is that children learn through play. Through the Center s rich array of age-appropriate programs, our curricula offer stimulating activities and group interactions that challenge children, generating and developing interest, curiosity and social skills as they grow. Surrounded by a rich, safe, warm and joyful classroom environment, children are comfortable and learning is fun and effective. At the end of the day, children get the positive learning experiences that help them enjoy and appreciate the learning process, preparing them for a lifelong love of learning.

B ringing a Family-Friendly Focus to Boehringer Ingelheim People are at the heart of Boehringer Ingelheim the employees who help make the organization a success and the families who support them every day. The Apple Blossom Children s Learning Center is the direct result of the employees of Boehringer Ingelheim and the feedback they shared as part of a detailed work-life effectiveness needs assessment conducted in 2004. During that study, employees expressed a deep interest in an onsite child care facility. Boehringer Ingelheim listened to the needs of employees and the needs of their children and responded with the Apple Blossom Children s Learning Center, providing employees with greater flexibility in the workplace and greater convenience in meeting their personal family needs. The Center is one of the many valuable, top quality benefits that BI offers to employees. It complements the organization s culture of providing a level of service to Boehringer Ingelheim employees and dependents through leading-edge health care coverage. Get the A-B-C Basics on the Children s Learning Center Access to the Center Center is located on the Boehringer Ingelheim Ridgefield Campus via the West Gate. To enter the Boehringer Ingelheim campus, you must be a Boehringer Ingelheim employee with a badge or you need to call ahead to be cleared at the gatehouse.
