COURSE POWER GENERATION AND INDUSTRIAL PLANT CABLES - CONSTRUCTION, APPLICATION, INSTALLATION AND TESTING October 27-28, 2015 Houston Marriott West Loop by The Galleria Houston, TX is authorized by IACET to offer 1.0 CEUs for the course. 1

OVERVIEW Cables in power generation plants and industrial plants are often considered a secondary importance when compared to the large expensive machinery such as turbines, generators and more. However, cables are essential to the efficiency and productivity of any plant operations. This course is designed to discuss the proper selection, installation, and maintenance of power cables between 600v and 46kv. In this course you will understand how to select, install and test a variety of cable types and constructions. Attendees will review the industry s best practices, safety, and tools to make installations that save time and money. This course will also feature a series of hands-on demonstrations that will enhance learning and will add to the understanding of field applications. WHO SHOULD ATTEND Thermal power generators EPC firms Electrical design engineers Fuel oil system suppliers Renewable energy developers Independent power producers Technology providers Government and regulatory agencies Equipment manufacturers Captive plant operators and developers Electrical contractors BoP equipment and service providers State electricity boards and gencos Coal-handling plant equipment Research institutes and manufacturer organizations LEARNING OUTCOMES Identify cable constructions and applications Examine cable selection criteria Identify proper testing methods with hands-on application and practice Discuss the importance of pre-planning for cable installation Illustrate cable tray configurations Technical review of cable jackets Review best practices of various cable installation methods Review proper terminations and splicing applications and procedures REGISTER 4601 TODAY!
