Welcome to Nordic Institute of Dental Education Are you interested in complementing your knowledge and skills as a dental professional? Nordic Institute of Dental Education is a company founded by Planmeca Oy, one of the world s leading dental technology companies, and the University of Turku. We offer continued education to international dentists and dental technicians who wish to strengthen their expertise in the latest topics in dentistry, utilising state- of- the- art technologies. Dental technologies are evolving rapidly. Particularly 3D imaging, CAD/CAM solutions, specialized software applications and new biomaterials enable improved treatment methods and ways of working. In addition, the development of preventive dental care and the orthodontic sectors are increasingly important topics. In many countries, dentists are also facing increased regulatory requirements on continued education. Our mission is to share the world- famous Nordic know- how in modern digital dentistry, utilising the academic qualifications of the University of Turku and the high technologies developed by Planmeca. The topics of the courses are related to e.g. 3D imaging, prosthodontics, endodontics, biomaterials science, orthodontics and CAD/CAM technologies. The courses are organised in Finland at the University of Turku and in Planmeca s headquarters in Helsinki from the autumn 2014. The University of Turku admits the ECTS credits and course certificates to the students. Nordic Institute of Dental Education is founded by UTU Holding Ltd, owned by the University of Turku, together with Planmeca Academy, a subsidiary of Planmeca Oy. Our course program for fall 2014 includes: Conservative dentistry: Minimally invasive dental treatments by using fiber-reinforced composite This course familiarizes the student with minimally invasive dental treatments by using fiber- reinforced composite. It consists of 32 hours of both lectures and hands- on training, and is worth 3 ECTS credits. Technology applied in dentistry: CAD/CAM fabricated restorations in modern adhesive dentistry Computer aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology has already revolutionised the field of dental restoration. Our course aims to give you all the necessary tools to offer your clients the most advanced information and methods regarding esthetic dentistry. The course consists of 32 hours of lectures and hands- on training, and it is worth 3 ECTS credits. Nordic Institute of Dental Education Terms & Conditions 1. General Nordic Institute of Dental Education ( NIDE ) is a joint- venture company by Planmeca Academy Oy and UTU Holding Oy based in Finland. NIDE offers continued education courses to international dental professionals. 2. Description of the service The course descriptions are located at NIDE s website, www.nordicdented.com. The University of Turku grants the participants ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) Credits for participating in NIDE s courses, unless otherwise specified. NIDE provides the participants with a certificate issued by the Turku University Faculty of Medicine. 3. Subscriptions, fees and payments The participants apply to the courses on NIDE s website. NIDE will confirm the attendance by e- mail to the address provided in connection with the registration. By submitting the application, the terms and conditions stated here are accepted by the applicant. 5. Intellectual property rights Training material including hard copies and digital media supplied to participants is the property of NIDE or third parties and intended for the participants use only. The participant agrees that she/he will not make copies or distribute the material without separate written authorization from NIDE. 6. Other applicable conditions The participants are strongly advised to have travel insurance. NIDE takes no responsibility for accidents occurring during the trips. NIDE takes no responsibility for the participants actions in applying the skills learnt at NIDE s courses. The personal data information submitted to NIDE in connection with the registration will be handled in accordance with applicable laws. 7. Governing law and jurisdiction This Agreement shall be governed by and interpreted and enforced in accordance with the laws of the Finland without any reference to rules governing choice of laws. Any dispute, controversy or claim arising out of or relating to this Agreement, or the breach, termination or validity thereof shall be finally settled by the district court of Helsinki, Finland. The applicant receives a confirmation of attendance and instructions for payment by e- mail from NIDE. The applicants are advised not to make their travel reservations before receiving a confirmation. The payment method is by invoice. In case the payment is not received by the payment deadline, course participation cannot be guaranteed. The course prices will be confirmed to each course separately. The course fee includes training, materials, as well as lunches and refreshments during the course. Travel and hotel costs are not included. By submitting the application, the applicants confirm that they consider their level to correspond to that of the course. 4. Cancellations and changes to the courses All cancellations and postponements must be submitted in writing. Our cancellation policy is the following: 28 days before the start of the course........ 100% refund 15 to 28 days before................. 50% refund 14 days before or later......................... 0% refund NIDE reserves the right to change the lecturers or venues and to reschedule classes and will try to accommodate a new schedule within a reasonable time. In the event that a course has less than 10 participants, NIDE reserves the right to cancel the course. The registrants will be informed of the next available date. In the event of cancellation, the course fees will be refunded in full. NIDE has no other liability with respect to cancellations. 1/2 2/2
