Simply follow the five steps below, and your move will be complete. Switching has never been easier! Just follow these five simple steps: 1. Open your new account. Visit one of our branches and speak with a Customer Service Representative to open your new account. Remember to bring a valid Driver s License, State ID, Passport, Military ID, or Resident Alien Card with you. We will help you choose the account type to best suit your needs and get your new checks and/or debit card ordered. 2. Stop using your old account. Don t use your old account, but do leave it open for at least two months to be sure all outstanding items have cleared and all automatic withdrawals and deposits have switched over to your new account. 3. Set up Direct Deposit for your new account. Complete a copy of the attached Request for Payroll Direct Deposit, and send it to your employer so that your paychecks will make the switch. 4. Transfer accounts for all automatic withdrawals and deposits. We have attached a Request for Change of Automatic Withdrawal and a Request for Change of Automatic Deposit to this kit. Complete a copy of the appropriate form for each automatic withdrawal or deposit set up on your old account. Send these to the companies making the withdrawals and deposits. Be sure to watch your new account for these transactions to make the switch. It can take up to two cycles for the automatic transaction to make the switch and if you haven t seen it arrive in your new account, call the company to confirm receipt of your request. Remember that some transactions are set up with debit card information and you ll need to give those companies your new debit card information. 5. Close your old account. Once you re certain that all automatic activity in your old account has switched to the new account and all outstanding items have cleared, complete the Request to Close Account and mail it to your old bank.
