Data Sheet Advanced Network Monitoring ANM Intraway Advanced Network Monitor allows Cable Operators to assure service availability and performance in real time. Using pre-equalization monitoring & spectrum analysis tools, the solution proactively scans network resources to prevent and correct network issues. Intraway's ANM provides the MSO the correct tools aimed to enhance network maintenance, specially finding impairments classified as reactive which would likely be given higher priority for resolution because they are already impacting performance. The fact that equalization can fully compensate for network linear distortion can buy the operator time in resolving the issue before there is service impact, thus enabling a proactive network maintenance strategy by simply adding ANM in the operation with no impact on other services. Proactively keep impairments at a minimum by effectively monitoring microreflection and group-delay effects over network resources. The Modular Solution works independently from the existing provisioning platform bringing a considerable degree of flexibility to the table. This module can be combined with the rest of Intraway s modular solutions, adding even greater value to the MSO s business. The spectrum analyzer allows both the NOC operator and field technicians to visualize the Cable Modem's upstream channel and CMTS upstream channel frequency spectrum in a single view in order to compare them and check their shape against its historical maximums and minimums for further analysis. A mobile-friendly portal allows technicians in the field to have a real-time view of a specific node s spectrum. The pre-equalizer monitoring functionality is based on the possibility of using DOCSIS devices as probes for network monitoring. This is accomplished by scanning and storing functional values of cable modems and depending on the corrections being made by the device to fix network problems, it is possible to obtain valuable information in order to detect and correct network errors before they affect service. By combining the analysis of this information, network topology and device location, the source of the problem can easily be determined and a proactive maintenance plan can be triggered using this information. Build and Consolidate a Proactive Network Maintenance Strategy by Leveraging the benefits of DOCSIS Pre-equalization data to monitor transmission impairments like microreflections and Group Delays. Proactively identifying impairments with data retrieved from cable modems Checking downstream/upstream frequency response and pre-equalization information with a single click. Identifying groups of cable modems with similar impairments by comparing the distortion signatures. Assisting in isolating problems before they impact the customers services. Storing statistical information about cable modem's pre-eq effects over time allows the tool to identify trends and fix network impairments before the customer's service is affected. Focusing on worst performing cable modems and upstream channels. Allowing NOC operators to check spectrum changes in downstream/upstream channel in real time. Comparing between Cable Modem Pre-Eq info and CMTS pre-eq allows determining if the distortion compensation of the upstream path is enough. Identifying automatically typical network impairment frequency signatures like LTE and CB Ingress, among others. Scalable, high-performance architecture Configurable multithreaded C++ ensures maximum throughput, allowing thousands of poll requests per hour and supporting parameterization customizable to the MSO network. Centralized database topology allows the distributed components to work independently of each other. Intuitive, flexible and customizable administration User-friendly, web-based graphical user interface for easy point-and-click operation. Works independently from your current provisioning tool. The system supports all major browsers and their latest versions (IE, Chrome, Firefox, etc.). Security All sensitive data such as communities and passwords are encrypted in the database as well as during message transfer.
Reliable secure messaging locks down sensitive data, while allowing the distributed components to perform work independently. Standards compliant Supports DOCSIS 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0 with built-in support for SNMPv2C. Ensures adherence to best practices. Features and Benefits Table 1 Features and Benefits of Intraway s ANM Module Feature Automatic Topology Discovery Topology Tree Navigation benefit Keep your network mapping up to date, all changes in the topology are automatically updated into the navigation tree. Navigate easily through automatically discovered topology saving time while finding the correct node, MAC Domain or upstream interface. Grouping CM by Correlation Groups Discover common network impairments affecting groups of Cable Modems. Spectrum Zoom Allows zoom-in and checking specific zones of the spectrum, in order to detect ingress/burst noise or other interferences. Geo-reference with TDR Area Channel frequency response and pre-equalization coefficients comparison for selected CM. Displays the geolocation of the devices with the color of the severity, allows zooming in and out zooming in and out allowing map movements. It also provides additional information when clicking on any device. Informs the values of all the devices of the selected port, filtered by the chosen criteria, allowing the user to click on any device and then the graphs are updated to show just the information of the selected device
