UNIVERSITY of NORTH FLORIDA College of Computing, Engineering and Construction WELCOME
Where We Came From A Brief History The College of Computing, Engineering and Construction traces its roots to the computer science track in Mathematical Sciences, in the College of Arts and Sciences. In 1983, Computer Science became the Division of Computer and Information Sciences. In 1987, a joint UNF-UF Electrical Engineering program was begun. In 1989, the Division became the College of Computing Sciences and Engineering. In 1992, the joint program became UNF s Electrical Engineering program. In 1997 Building Construction Management transferred from the College of Education and Human Services to the College. Civil and Mechanical Engineering programs were added in 2000 and 2001. In 2003 the College was renamed the College of Computing, Engineering and Construction.
Who UNF is Now Since those early days, CCEC and UNF in general has grown into a highly respected, nationally recognized Regional, Comprehensive University. For example: Forbes Magazine named UNF the No. 19 Best College Buy, a Best College in America and a Best College in the South. The Princeton Review named UNF a Best College in the Southeast, a Best Value Public College, and a Top Green College. UNF was ranked in the top 100 "Coolest Schools" by Sierra magazine. UNF has been named to Kiplinger's Personal Finance's list of 100 best values in public colleges.
Who CCEC is Now The College of Computing, Engineering and Construction is one of nine (9) public university engineering programs in the State. All of our Engineering and Computing programs are ABET accredited, and Construction Management is accredited by the ACCE. CCEC has the third highest entering freshmen profile in the State (Ave. Sat 1172 w/600 in math). Engineering and Construction Management which granted a total of 162 degrees in 2008 will graduate a total of more than 230 students this academic year (a more than 40% increase).

CCEC Record of Success Last year, even with the sluggish economic recovery, CCEC Graduates are getting jobs upon graduation: Computing placed almost 100% of their students. Engineering averaged 85% to 90% placement. Construction placed 100% of their students. These number go up when one looks one to two years out from graduation
