The Self-Reprt f Accmplishments is a narrative descriptin f yur accmplishments as it relates t yur perfrmance bjectives, perfrmance elements, rganizatinal missin and gals, and ther factrs. The targets and measures in yur Perfrmance Plan lend t the mnitring f yur perfrmance thrughut the perfrmance evaluatin perid against thse expectatins and identifying areas fr imprvement. Tracking yur accmplishments helps yu accmplish the missin gals and imprve yur perfrmance. Writing up yur accmplishments gives yu a vice in yur final evaluatin. Dn t wait until the last minute - Writing yur perfrmance achievements takes the least amunt f time when yu track yur accmplishment s regularly. 2. Restate yur understanding f the perfrmance bjectives - List perfrmance bjectives, then grup accmplishments under them. 3. Address each perfrmance bjective individually All f yur perfrmance bjectives are imprtant s make sure yu address each f them. 4. Include references t the perfrmance elements - Make a list f the elements and check ff each time that yu demnstrate specific behavirs related t each element. Ensure that yu have checked each element at least nce. 5. Highlight yur mst significant achievements fr the appraisal perid Review the accmplishments yu have tracked thrughut the perfrmance evaluatin perid and identify thse that have had the largest impact n the rganizatin. 6. The fllwing example shws yu hw t track yur accmplishments and hw that translates t writing up entries fr the perfrmance bjective and a perfrmance element. Wrk Rle: Travel Specialist, grade 9 Perfrmance Objective: Frm Perfrmance Objective prcess at least 80 percent f travel requests per mnth in accrdance with standard perating prcedures, with n mre than ne errr per request and within 24 hurs f receipt. Of thse, each mnth I had a percentage f requests with 0-1 errrs at 85%. I prcessed 87% f the requests within 24 hurs f receipt. I met my perfrmance bjective, even when I was n leave, by priritizing my time. Octber was my best perfrmance, with 132 requests that I prcessed n time (98%) with high accuracy (99%). Self-Reprt f Accmplishments Entry Example Paragraph Methd & STAR Methd The methd yu use t track and write up yur Self-Reprt f Accmplishments shuld be a cmbinatin f yur persnal preference and yur supervisr s preferences. It is imprtant t talk t yur supervisr t understand his r her expectatins fr yur Self-Reprt f Accmplishments. Yu want t make sure bth yu and yur supervisr have the same expectatins fr hw the Self-Reprt f Accmplishments shuld lk when it is finished. What fllws are tw examples that shw different wrk rles and alternative appraches t dcumenting yur accmplishments. Wrk Rle: Intelligence Analyst, grade 12 Perfrmance Objective: Example 1 Paragraph Methd Frm Perfrmance Objective analyze ffice prcedures and plicy dcuments t accurately identify agency bligatins and anticipate intelligence trends, future needs, gaps/shrtfalls, r prblems. Prvide reprts and/r briefings at ur weekly staff meetings r within requested timelines that accurately describe any prblem yu are slving, yur recmmended slutin, and challenges yu encuntered during the reslutin prcess. Slicited and unslicited feedback will be cnsidered t validate whether slutins satisfactrily met the partner missin requirement in terms f time and effectiveness t Sample Self-Reprt f Accmplishment Thrughut FY2010, I prvided 63 reprts t internal and external partners and briefed at 18 weekly staff meetings n multiple facets f my assigned area. Of the 63 reprts, 59 were cmpleted within the requested timelines while the ther fur were delayed due t rapidly changing situatinal events beynd my cntrl. I received 24 instances f psitive feedback with cmments that included: Excellent jb, reprts directly imprved decisin advantage fr ur area (1/15/2010), Fantastic turnarund allwed us t take decisive actin n the issue (3/22/2010), Briefing was cmprehensive, well surced and thughtful. Well dne. (2/5/2010). In February 2010, I develped an imprvement t agency plicy dcuments and briefed my recmmended changes t my supervisr n 18 February 2010. The recmmendatins were incrprated with minr changes n 1 July 2010. As a result, turnarund time was reduced by 25% thrughut 4QFY13. Example 2 8

S T A R Methd Frm Perfrmance Objective Wrk Rle: Prgram Management Officer, grade 14 Perfrmance Objective: capture, crdinate, and manage prgram risks. Dcument the risks and the risk management strategies in a Risk Management Plan. Generate the first wrking level crdinated draft f this plan by the end f 1QFY13. Generate and distribute the secnd/final draft by 2QFY13. This will include crdinating risks and cmmunicating them t ODNI. Starting 2QFY13, cmmunicate the Prgram risks internally and represent the Prgram t that bard fr 75% f their meetings. t Self-Reprt f Accmplishment S I am respnsible fr capturing, crdinating and managing prgram risks. T T accmplish this, I am respnsible fr dcumenting strategies in the Risk Management Plan in accrdance with set milestnes and then briefing these risks internally. A I cmpleted the crdinated wrking-level draft by the end f 1QFY13, and I was able t generate and distribute the final draft by 1 February, ahead f my 2QFY13 milestne. I distributed the plan t key stakehlders with mnthly updates fr the remainder f FY09 and generated a cmmunicatins schedule t represent the Prgram at bard meetings. The schedule allwed me t brief at 85% f meetings, prviding pertinent infrmatin and nging updates t the Prgram. R Strng cllabrative effrts n the first draft resulted in a dcument that required limited rewrk, allwing the final draft t be cmpleted ahead f schedule. I received psitive feedback frm 3 ut f 5 f the key stakehlders. Onging updates gave the bard the infrmatin it needed t make cst-saving adjustments t at least three prgrams in 3QFY13 and at least five prgrams in 4QFY13.
