Waveguide Loads/Terminations Engineering J & N Engineering offers a wide range of waveguide terminations that will suit several applications. The load element is securely mounted in the waveguide, has minimal return loss and provides an efficient method of dispersing the heat generated by RF energy. Low powered load elements for networks and general usage are made from a lossy iron-loaded epoxy. Elements for the higher-powered systems are made from a silicon carbide material that can operate at higher temperatures. Loads can be either full band or optimized over approximately 10% of the waveguide bandwidth for improved performance. ll loads are made to the highest standards and are finished in hard wearing black epoxy paint; Other finishes such as powder coat and silver plated flanges are available to order. The standard finish is black powdercoat that is both attractive and hardwearing. Satellite News Gathering J & N and Engineering can supply components used on Satellite News Gathering (SNG) equipment. Waveguide assemblies and feed-arms, waveguide bulkheads, in-vehicle switching networks and many other components are available. We supply waveguide components and networks used in both flyaway and vehicle mounted SNG systems. Feed arms can be supplied fully wired, in carbon-fibre encased aluminium waveguide for weight saving and durability. The waveguide and flanges are protected with corrosion-resistant locrom 1200; which can be either self-colour or painted with black hardwearing powder coat in an attractive satin finish. Several up and downlink satellite communication bands are catered for, including C and Ku ll components and systems are individually tested and tuned for optimum performance and reliability in the field.
