. Video Collaboration & Application Sharing Product Overview

Overview NPL s Collaborative Real-Time Information Sharing Platform (CRISP ) combines high quality video collaboration, remote application sharing and advanced document, image and video media processing to create a highly effective communication platform for mission critical applications. NPL provides applications, infrastructure and developer tools that enable integrated video collaboration and cloud application sharing for business and the enterprise. The company s end-to-end portfolio includes the Collaborative Real- Time Information Sharing Platform (CRISP ), NPL s Beam cloud application sharing software, and Spin s video collaboration client app. Together, these solutions create a highly interactive, collaborative information exchange experience. Up to ten participants are able to interact face-to-face, seamlessly viewing and interacting with applications, documents, photos, presentations and video media. An innovative feature includes NPL s Chalk Talk collaboration tools which allow dynamic on-screen interaction between participants simultaneously without the need to pass control. Businesses are able to create a one-on-one customer experience by embedding the Beam and Spin videoconferencing and custom collaboration capabilities into their suite of applications and service offerings resulting in significant gains in productivity and customer satisfaction. The CRISP network operating environment, enables business users and app developers to create fully immersive experiences by integrating file sharing, cloud applications, mobility tools, and social media into existing applications or stand-alone apps. The CRISP platform is built on a scalable data center system capable of supporting millions of concurrent users, which serves to solve the common denominator issues found in P2P network computing and uniquely enables truly live, synchronous experiences across many different platforms and products. Collaborative Real-Time Information Sharing Platform NPL s CRISP Platform, combined with the Spin Client Palette and Beam Application Sharing Server, work together to create the world s most advanced video collaboration and information-sharing communication platform available today. With twenty-one patents issued and forty pending, NPL offerings are based on four sectors of IP: layered architecture, low latency protocol, pervasive computing, and perceptual optimization. Together, these elements create a highly interactive environment that allows users to enjoy a quick, seamless and rich collaborative experience. Industry Applications NPL s CRISP creates a collaboration and videoconferencing base for applications across industries. A sampling of such applications includes: Customer service: electronic face to face customer support Healthcare/telemedicine: medical imaging and evaluation by collaboration, patient consultation Education: distance learning, global classrooms, home-based instruction Creative production and design: video production, publishing, animation, graphic design Entertainment: immersive viewing, viewer collaboration Hardware/devices: white label applications for mobile devices, smart TVs, and set-top boxes Retail: online purchasing, product support and customer service Sports: fantasy leagues play, game interactivity Integrations NPL offers two ways to integrate its technology. Developers can integrate Spin into their own applications, reskinning the application to provide feature-rich, branded collaboration tools tailored to the exact needs of specific audiences or markets. Or developers can tie into the code base of the Spin platform, augmenting it to create tailored collaboration apps. NPL s CRISP Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) help developers ensure seamless software integrations, including links to social media, superior application performance, and a heightened Quality of Experience for users.

Innovation What differentiates Spin from competitive approaches to mobile and web video communications? Layered Architecture. Multiple distributed network streams are independently delivered in separate layers, then composed and synchronized as one single-layered experience. Because Spin renders the base layer stream (media, documents, applications) independently from collaboration layers (drawing, comments, gestures, virtual experiences), the original media is delivered without altering its content, thus protecting the originator s intellectual property and ensuring compliance with DRM (Digital Rights Management) guidelines. Spin Palette Layers Create Flexibility NPL s Client Palette Layers are aware of each other and respond accordingly. Example: zoom one and the others zoom too. Each layer is rendered separately, creating independent content presentation and enabling DRM and content security. The base layer supports video streams, content media and application sharing. Because of NPL s cloud architecture, processing for specific computing- or bandwidth-intensive layers can are executed in the CRISP cloud to maximize responsiveness and QOS. Low-latency communications. A patented and proprietary networking protocol developed by NPL provide low-latency delivery for Spin products. Using multiple parallel channels, the network protocol intelligently sets priorities for delivering different data streams. While graphical information like animations and drawings are sent through reliable queues, video and audio are sent through unreliable queues to speed delivery of packets. Aggressive congestion control algorithms in the network protocol respond to capacity issues far more rapidly than TCP, allowing faster recovery to full data transmission. Real-time collaboration. NPL brings true collaboration capabilities that go far beyond simple screen or file-sharing. With Spin, establishing multi-party collaboration is as simple as dragging and dropping contact names or icons onto the Spin canvas, or by selecting contacts from communities or friends in social media applications such as Facebook Beam multi-user cloud application sharing platform. Leverages NPL s proprietary low-latency network protocol to stream applications from the cloud to the Beam-enabled device or embedded application. With Beam, enterprise customers can deploy vitalized applications that run from the cloud to dramatically simplify desktop software and mobile application deployment for Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) employees, remote workers, contractors, and partners. Beam can also be deployed within Spin or a white label app, so the user can collaborate on various applications during a video conference. Partnership Model NPL licenses its technology and provides subscription-based access to the CRISP network operating environment. NPL also provides custom nonrecurring engineering services to partners, integrators and customers. Developers can take advantage of white-label client applications for ios, with support for Android devices and for HTML5 (coming soon). Additionally, NPL provides plug-ins for set-top boxes, smart TVs, and other devices.

NPL Product Overview NPL combines proprietary advances in video conferencing, media and content sharing with highly advanced collaboration tools creating an experience akin to having a medical expert or technician on-site. NPL s end-to-end portfolio includes the Collaborative Real Time Information Sharing Platform (CRISP), NPL s Beam Cloud application sharing software, and Spin Client Palette. Up to ten participants are able to interact face-to-face, seamlessly viewing and interacting with applications, documents, photos, presentations and video media. NPL s end-to-end portfolio is modular by design giving our customers the tools to customize the user experience with a fully integrated video collaboration and application sharing system. THE NPL Platform The CRISP platform is built on a scalable data center system capable of supporting millions of concurrent users, which solve the common denominator issues found in P2P network computing and uniquely enables truly live, synchronous experiences across many different platforms and products. The NPL network platform is flexible enough to be deployed on machines, on premise, or in the cloud. Delivering on the industry s need for scalability, extensibility, customization, and security, this platform provides an integrated stack of technologies for distributed computing, big data analytics, asset management, machine-to-machine communication, and mobility. The NPL CRISP platform offers a comprehensive set of API s and SDK s which enable developers to build applications directly into their existing applications and systems. With the NPL API set, developers can add information sharing and video collaboration to systems, desktop browsers and mobile devices. The API uses REST protocol and responses are in JSON format. With no hardware or software to be purchased, installed, or maintained, organizations can use NPL s cloud-based services for the features they need. CRISP Platform

Spin Client Palette The Spin Client Palette is the end access point for video collaboration, virtual meeting and cloudbased applications sharing. The Spin Client Palette is comprised of a set of API s and SDK s which include a complete application for ios and WebRTC. Android support will be available in June of 2015. The Spin Client Palette is the gateway to NPL s proprietary network protocol and layered architecture. NPL has built advanced video and audio processing functionality into the client including audio jitter buffering, network loss-handling, low-bandwidth adaptation, network QOS (Quality of Service), camera and microphone optimization, media pre-fetching, as well as synchronizing client UI interactions like zoom, swipe, pause, and play, to deliver a shared, native viewing experience for images, videos, documents, and collaboration features like drawing, annotation, and virtual animations. The Spin Client Palette supports a comprehensive set of extensions and plugin s, which can be modified to match GE s application specific requirements. Beam Application Sharing Server NPL s Beam multi-user cloud application sharing platform leverages a proprietary low-latency network protocol to stream applications from the cloud to the Beam-enabled device or embedded application. With Beam, enterprise Healthcare customers can deploy virtual applications that run from the cloud to dramatically simplify desktop software and mobile application deployment for Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) healthcare employees, remote workers, contractors and partners. The heart of Beam is the Beam server, a background server application enabling remote operation and sharing of core product applications. Beam connects to NPL Platform and Spin Client Palette using an NPL proprietary protocol giving the remote user complete access to the co-joined applications. Beam Server Beam Server runs in the background on Windows and Linux Servers White-label and API Solutions Beam enables application sharing allowing multiple users to share the same application without control handoff. NPL licenses its technology and provides subscription-based access to the CRISP Platform Environment. NPL also provides custom non-recurring engineering services to partners, integrators, and customers. Developers can take advantage of whitelabel client applications for ios, Web Clients and Android. Pervasive Computing NPL s pervasive computing technology enables the transfer of an active application from one device to the other. One client device transfers execution of a process over to a second client device based on verification and in proximity to first device. An example is being able to transfer an application running on a smartphone to a tablet or a computer with
