CILE Centro Internacional de Lengua Española CILE has been recognized by the University of Alcalá de Henares (Madrid) after having been examined and was granted the quality stamp "CEELE Quality in the Teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language". CILE receives students with scholarships from the prestigious university Ecole Normale Supérieure of Paris, which uses the textbook for beginners elaborated by CILE as their official study material. CILE is the center in which both the Chamber of Commerce in Malaga and the Industry of Madrid conduct their exams of Spanish for Tourism, which are organized by the Chamber and the University of Alcalá de Henares. 2
CILE Centro Internacional de Lengua Española Location CILE is located in a prime position next to the Cathedral in the centre of Malaga. Classes take place in an authentic building of the 19th century, which provides our classrooms with ample space and light. In addition, most shops, restaurants, banks, cinemas and places of interest are within close proximity and the beach is only 10 minutes away. Administration In our administration, the staff, who speak several languages, are always at students disposal to provide information on tours, excursions, leisure activities etc., and to arrange doctor s appointments, taxis and the like if necessary. Teaching All our teachers are native Spanish and are rigorously selected from a pool of qualified teachers. Each of them has graduated university and accumulated a wealth of experience in teaching Spanish as a foreign language, which is the reason why we can assure the highest tution quality available. From the first day, Spanish is the only language spoken in class and the climate among students and teachers is one of confidence and friendship. Thus, due to enjoyable and at the same time challening learning methods, we can guarantee an efficient learning process. Tne lesson consists of 45min. and classes are usually held in the morning from Monday to Friday. If, however, required due to the number of students, there can be lessons in the afternoon, too. However, in order to assure the highest efficiency possible, the maximum group size amounts to eight students. In addition, our learning material used in the lower level courses has been developed by our own teachers according to our tuition system and all other material is always adjusted according to students' level. 3
Our courses CILE offers a wide range of courses for students wishing to learn or to improve their Spanish. The courses are designed to make our students feel confident in daily use of the language in all kinds of social situations. The Standard Course consists of four lessons a day (20/week) and covers all aspects of language tuition, such as listening, talking, reading and writing. Daily homework will be assigned to the students and each Friday there will be a weekly grammar review. This course is structured as follows: the first two lessons are dedicated to grammar studies combined with exercises and after a break of half an hour, the next two lessons are dedicated to vocabulary development, reading, writing, oral comprehension of radio programmes, video sessions, discussions, work with newspapers, etc. Additionally, it exists the possibility to enrol for grammar or conversation lessons only. Our Intensive Course caters to those who want to learn Spanish in a shorter time frame. It consists of six lessons a day, four of which are the same as the Standard Course, while two lessons are additional classes with max. six per group. The learning rate, therefore, tends to be higher than in the Standard Course. Our Super Intensive Course provides more personal attention and includes six lessons/day, out of which four lessons correspond with the Standard Course group and two are extra private lessons. One-to-One tuition is available for those students who want the special attention of a teacher or want to learn a special topic. These classes can also be combined with the normal group courses. Finally, we also offer Spanish Courses combined with sports tuition, such as tennis, sailing, golf, scuba-diving, horseriding or judo. CILE Centro Internacional de Lengua Española Exam preparation We offer preparation courses for the following examinations: Dele Examination organized by Institution Cervantes Spanish for Business Course Spanish for Tourism Course The exams for Spanish for Business and Spanish for Tourism are organized by the Chamber of Commerce and are recognised by the European Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Examination dates vary, but you can contact us for more information on these courses and exams. Accomodation In addition to our Spanish courses, CILE also organizes accommodation in a Spanish family, a shared apartment or an individual apartment. Accommodation with a Spanish Family One of the best ways to get to know a country and its language is by living with one of our carefully selected Spanish families. Students can choose between single and double room, half-board and full-board. Accommodation in a Shared apartment An alternative to family accommodation is living in fully equipped apartments shared with other students, in single or double rooms, enjoying privacy and independence. We offer two types (A and B) of apartments, type B being near the school (max. 10 Min. Walking). Accommodation in Own Apartments For our students who prefer complete independence and would like more comfort we offer own apartments for one or two persons. These apartments are close to school, at a distance of max. 10 minutes walking and are also fully equipped. If required, we can also book hotels, hostels and pensions. Social Programmes We fully realize that not all learning takes place in classrooms and that a language needs to be practised in real life in order to consolidate. Therefore, our school offers a varied and exciting social activity programme for the students. Firstly, we organize interchange meetings where you can practice your Spanish in a relaxed atmosphere and have the opportunity to talk to students from other countries. In addition, our students have books and daily newspapers at their disposal in the students common room along with various movies and documentaries made available in our library. In our afternoon dancing course you can learn the flamenco dance sevillanas, thus participating in one of the most popular expressions of Spanish life. This course is optional but included in the course fees. If you want you also can learn or practice playing flamenco guitar with a specialized teacher. It is not uncommon for our students and teachers to occasionally meet for a few drinks or a meal at one of the local restaurants or bars. Our knowledge of the area ensures that if you wish to sample the local cuisine and social ambience you will be directed to the best Malaga has to offer. Secondly, we can arrange theatre and cinema visits, concert tickets, talks and discussions on special aspects of life in the host country, visits to museums and monuments along with excursions to other cities. 7
Málaga Malaga is the capital of Andalucía, home of Costa del Sol. As the name suggests, it enjoys beautiful weather with an average annual temperature of 22ºC and 330 days of sun. It was founded by the Phoenicians and has been a Roman colony and a Moorish city. All of this is reflected in its unmissable monuments, such as the Roman Theatre, the Arab Alcazaba and its museums, among which also the renowned Picasso Museum of Malaga. Along with tourist attractions, Malaga offers a wide range of sports activities, from sailing to horse riding, over golf to tennis. Most of these activities can be combined with our courses and while the tuition is excellent, prices are kept very reasonable. 8
