To provide station operators with the basic knowledge and technical understanding on the operations, maintenance and management of a manual radionuclide station and, more specifically, to provide hands-on training for the various operational and maintenance procedures. 6 10 July Hanoi, Vietnam ASEAN NDC Development Workshop and Training Invited States should nominate participant(s) who will be involved in the establishment, operation and/or management of their National Data Centre. The purpose of the training is to provide with hands-on training using modern radionuclide and seismological tools and techniques for analysis of IMS and national data to meet State obligations under the CTBT. There will be two groups to be trained, as indicated below: Group 1: Radionuclide data processing using the newly added NDC-in-a-box software;

Group 2: Regional Seismic Travel Time (RSTT) model for improved seismic event location in nuclear explosion monitoring, to train the to: accurately estimate local/regional seismic event magnitudes using coda waves; and to ensure proficiency in the use of these analytical seismic monitoring tools so that they may be shared with other NDC staff at home institutions. 27 31 July Reykjavik, Iceland Radionuclide Station Operators using Cinderella Equipment Station operators of IMS radionuclide stations using Cinderella equipment directly concerned with the operation, maintenance and repair of such equipment. To enhance and develop station operator s knowledge and skills regarding the operational and maintenance aspects of Radionuclide Stations using Cinderella System. 20 21 August Operations and Maintenance Training for Station Operators of Enviroconsult Station Operators of Enviroconsult The objective of the training is to promote an understanding of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) and the work of the Preparatory Commission, including that of the International Monitoring System and the International Data Centre. It will also provide a forum for the Provisional Technical Secretariat to demonstrate how the organization monitors and delivers support to stations. 24 28 August International Day against Nuclear Tests-Event General public, media, WGB delegates Exhibition of the paintings by artists from China, Kazakhstan and other countries at Rotunda from 24 to 28 August. A special event is planned for 28 August 2015. LEGREL 7 11 Costa Rica NDC Development Workshop and RSTT Training for the Latin America and the Caribbean Region Applicants should be involved in the use of IMS Data and Products, in particular NDC analyst, seismic observatory, and tsunami warning centre scientific staff with seismological background and experience. The workshop aims to have a broad regional representation from Latin America and the Caribbean. This workshop and training follows up on the achievements of a similar event in San Juan, Argentina, 14-18 October 2013. This time, the focus of the RSTT applications will be on the Caribbean region. The objectives for NDC Capacity Building Workshop are: to strengthen knowledge of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) and the work of the Preparatory Commission;

Participation in previous RSTT related activities is an asset. to recognize the importance of obtaining better regional locations for future tomographic studies; to stimulate regional cooperation in data exchange through the NDCs and/or regional network operators. to further build up the national and regional capacities in implementing the Treaty and participating in the verification regime, as well as to promote the civil and scientific application of verification technologies; and to share data and to develop the Regional Seismic Travel Time Model (RSTT) in Latin America and the Caribbean. The additional objectives for the training on RSTT are: to understand and learn how RSTT can help regional networks achieve more precise event locations; to learn how RSTT can be interfaced with current locators used in daily earthquake location procedures; 7 18 Training Course on NDC Capacity Building: Access and Analysis of Radionuclide IMS Data and Products NDC technical staff and authorized users; Participants should have: - experience in radionuclide data analysis and/or similar experience related to nuclear-test-ban verification; and - Linux background and some SQL experience. Objectives: To understand the roles of NDCs in the verification regime; To build and/or improve NDC capabilities; To provide with sufficient knowledge for accessing and using IMS data and products; and To provide practical experience in analyzing IMS radionuclide data. The agenda of the training course will include: Methods to access IMS data and products; NDC support/performance reports; IMS data, acquisition, processing and storage: standard software packages; Necessary NDC s resources to process IMS data and analyse products; Practical sessions on data and products access, and use of standard software packages, for processing and analysis of particulate and noble gas radionuclide data as well as pot processing of atmospheric transport modelling output.

Ninth Conference on Facilitating the Entry into Force of the Comprehensive Nuclear- Test-Ban Treaty (Article XIV Conference) Representatives of the ratifying States and signatory States that have not yet ratified the Treaty. Representatives of other States which have the right to sign the Treaty per Article XIV of the Treaty but has not yet done so may also attend. The UN Secretary General convenes the Conference. The purpose of the Conference is to examine the extent to which the requirement for entry into force set out in Article XIV, paragraph 1, of the Treaty has been met and to consider and decide by consensus what measures consistent with international law may be undertaken to accelerate the ratification process in order to facilitate the early entry into force of the Treaty. LEGREL 5 9 October 5th Workshop on the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of the IMS System Approx. 30 internal and 100 external The Workshop will: Facilitate interaction of Station Operators by participation in focused group discussions; Provide un updated vision of the challenges ahead and highlight the major achievements in the Operations and Maintenance of the IMS stations; Focus on the importance of Data Availability as a Key Performance Indicator for the IMS stations; Provide a forum to update Station Operators on the latest tools available for monitoring the IMS networks (SOH), assessing its performance (PRtool), assessing Station Operators performance (SOPET); Update on the status of PKI.

The purpose of the Infrasound Technology Workshop 2015 is to create an international forum for presenting and discussing recent advancements in infrasound research and operational capabilities of global and regional networks. To provide hands-on training and practical lessons to Station Operators on the operation, maintenance and repair of the ORTEC gamma detector system manufactured by AMETEK.
