R. 3 Florida State University, School of Information - Teaching Assistant Management of Information Organizations LIS 5408, summer and fall 2012, and spring 2013 Course Description: Introductory course in management of information organizations within a variety of organizational contexts. The course is designed to develop a conceptual framework for integrating fundamental management concepts, principles, policies, theories, and practices into an effective personal management process that relates to information organizations of the 21st century. This is a required course for all students in the MLS program and each class consisted of approximately 50 students. UNIVERSITY RESEARCH University of North Florida, Thomas G. Carpenter Library - 2013 - present Student/Faculty Campus Life Survey 2013/14 & 2014/15 - Wrote survey questions used in the university-wide survey to assess faculty and student satisfaction with library services and resources. In collaboration with department colleagues, analyzed data and presented findings to library faculty and staff; results were used to improve and/or add library services, resources, and programming. User Satisfaction Survey Fall 2013 Created and conducted a survey to explore library users satisfaction with new collaborative study neighborhood in the library; the data were used to inform future decisions about student preferences and needs for the Library Commons project. Library Instruction Survey 2013 Collaborated with Instruction Librarians to develop pre- and post-tests of nine bibliographic instruction sessions taught at the library. The data were used by the instruction team to improve teaching methods and create a LibGuide for use with entrylevel English classes. Florida State University, School of Information - Research Assistant Information Use Management and Policy Institute, Jan Aug 2012 The mission of the Institute is to develop and implement applied research and policy studies that improve the quality, effectiveness, and productivity of individuals and organizations' use and management of information resources and services. Created a survey to learn about teacher s perceptions of the Florida Electronic Library, a service provided by the Florida Division of Library Services. Assisted with the creation of two online training tutorials for community members in support of the Florida Rural Broadband Alliance. Analyzed data and with a team wrote the final report of the Indiana Public Libraries e-government services provision study. Institute for Information Management and Scientific Communication, Aug Dec 2011 The Department of Defense (DOD) awarded a $17 million federal grant to the Florida State University and the Denver Veterans Affairs Medical Center to establish the DOD Military Suicide Research Consortium (MSRC) with the purpose of implementing a multidisciplinary research approach to suicide prevention. Incorporated current design and research elements in the MSRC internationally used website to enhance scholar s and physician s abilities to effectively locate and use the data collected. Searched the internet, databases, and other sources for information about veterans and suicide and PTSD; summarized materials and added them to the repository.
