1. Place of the programme realization The International Programme MBA - Agribusiness" is realized on the basis of the federal state budgetary educational institution of higher professional education "Stavropol State Agrarian University" (hereinafter - Stavropol SAU) within the Postgraduate Education framework in the Institute of additional vocational training. The Stavropol State Agrarian University is the Russia's leading center for education, science and culture which provides educational, research and consulting- methodological activity and is a public educational institution under the federal jurisdiction, which is located in the North Caucasus Federal District (NCFD) of the Russian Federation, in the city of Stavropol. The Founder is The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. The Stavropol State Agrarian University is a legal entity, has a seal with the State Emblem of the Russian Federation with its name, stamp, coat of arms, flag and the sign of the University. The Stavropol State Agrarian University is one of the oldest universities in the South of Russia. It was established by the order 232 of September 1, 1930 by the People's Commissariat for Agriculture at the Faculty of Sheep Breeding of the Moscow Zootechnical Institute as an institution of Sheep Breeding, which in 1932 was transferred in full to Stavropol. By decree of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR on February 28, 1933 330 the North-Caucasus Institute of Pig breeding (Krasnodar), emerged with the Institute of Sheepbreeding (Stavropol),which was later renamed into the North Caucasus Zootechnical Institute. The University was renamed in accordance with the orders : The Union Committee for Higher Education at the USSR from June 19, 1944 253 the University got the status of the Stavropol Agricultural Institute, the Russian Federation State Committee for Higher Education on April 29, 1994 the university was granted the status of agricultural academy. In December 2001, the Stavropol State Agricultural Academy was granted the status of the Stavropol State Agrarian University (Stavropol SAU GAU). 2

Currently the University has a functioning termless license to conduct educational activities, issued by the Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science from October 5, 2011 Series AAA number 002004 Registration number 1917 and the certificate of the state accreditation of the Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science from 11 January 2012 Series BB 001439 Registration number 1422). The Rector of the Stavropol State Agrarian University is Vladimir Trukhachev, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Doctor of Economics, professor, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Honored Scientist of Russia, Honored Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation, Honored Employee of Science and Technology of the Russian Federation, Honored Employee of the agro-industrial complex of the Russian Federation, hero of Labor of Stavropol and the Stavropol Krai Duma deputy. He has been the head of the University since 1999. The mission of the Stavropol State Agrarian University is to expand the boundaries of knowledge and learning, to provide training of professional graduates, to improve the quality of life in the South of Russia and contribute to the conservation and promotion of moral, cultural and scientific values of the society. The University management is based on the principles of unity of command and collegiality in accordance with the Russian law and the Charter of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, adopted at the conference of academic staff, other staff members and students (Conference of the labor team) in 2010. The university management structure is built in accordance with the basic activities set by the Charter. 3

Figure 1- University management structure The University includes 9 faculties, 48 departments, 83 innovative laboratories and centers, Research Library, Institute of Additional Professional Education, 44 small innovative enterprises, 4 dormitories, 2 sports complex (8 gyms), horse-riding school, 3 greenhouses, 2 vivarium, training- experimental farm (10 thousand hectares). The results of the participation of the University in international and national contests: 1. European Excellence Award Prize Winner "EFQM Excellence Award- 2013 ( the Stavropol State Agrarian University is the first Russian company which has become a Prize Winner of the European contest " EFQM Excellence Award " in the history of the competition). 2. Laureate of the All-Russian contest "Russian organization of high social efficiency" in 2013 in the category "For the development of social partnership within the organizations of non-productive sphere. 3. Laureate of the Russian Government Prize in the area of quality (2011, 2005). 4. Winner of the Contest of innovative universities in the framework of the priority national project "Education" (2007). 4

5. Two times winner of the Prize of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation "Systems of quality provision in specialists training " (2010, 2005). 6. Winner of the 3rd and 7th International Quality Tournament of Central and Eastern Europe (2011, 2007). 7. Laureate of the CIS in the area of quality of products and services (2007). 8. Member of the Magna Carta of universities since 2008. According to the annual monitoring of the effectiveness of educational institutions of higher education, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, FSBEI HPE "Stavropol State Agrarian University" was recognized as an effective institution in 2011-2013. 2. Project history In 2008 the Ministry of Agriculture of the Netherlands initiated a four-year project entitled "Dutch Centre for knowledge sharing and education for training and technology transfer in the area of dairy and pig production in the Russian Federation." Later the project was given the working title LEC (Center for livestock expertise) in Russia. The project consists of three main parts: the Center for the practical differences (CPE), Center of practical training (CPT) and the laboratory. The main activity of the center is to organize a two-year postgraduate MBA course in Russia. To implement this project, representatives of the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture selected a number of partner organizations in Russia, including the Stavropol State Agrarian University. As a result, the international course «MBA - Agribusiness" was developed in collaboration with the University of Wageningen. 3. State accreditation The program MBA - Agribusiness" was launched in the Stavropol State Agrarian University on June 12, 2012. In the Stavropol State Agrarian University 5

the training on the course "MBA in agribusiness" was combined with the training for the Master degree programme 080200.68 - "Industrial Management", accredited by the University in the state authorities of the Russian Federation governing the education system in the country. The position of the program "MBA in agribusiness" in the overall structure of specialists training, developed in the Stavropol State Agrarian University, is shown in Fig. 2. The Stavropol State Agrarian University is the only university in the region, which works in the field of MBA education with foreign agricultural universities and invites foreign teachers. The last point place an important role in the positioning of the program and improving the quality of education. 6

4. MBA programme management The scientific supervisor of the programme is the Rector of Stavropol State Agrarian University, Doctor Vladimir Trukhachev. The organizational chart of the management of the study implementation in the Stavropol SAU programme "MBA in agribusiness" is shown in Fig. 3. The programme Director is Professor Olga Lisova, the Vice Rector on Additional Education of the Stavropol State Agrarian University. She is responsible for managing the implementation of the program MBA in agribusiness" in the Stavropol State Agrarian University, and is engaged in the development, implementation of academic standards, provides the International Committee for consideration and assessment of the significance of the course contents. The programme Director prepares an annual report for the International Committee. 7

The programme Manager is Professor Stanislav Serikov, Head of Foreign Affairs Department, who provides the exchange of information between all project partners and is responsible for organizing the visits of professors from the University of Wageningen during the international week. He is responsible for developing the Handbook, presentation materials and course folder for MBA. Each module has its coordinator, who is responsible for the development of the module content, selection of educational materials and support of professors from the University of Wageningen during the international weeks. The collegial executive body of the international network of MBA is responsible for supporting contacts between partners and accreditation of programmes in accordance with established standards. The Stavropol State Agrarian University is an associate member of AgriMBA, which applied for an accreditation procedure of the international program MBA in agribusiness." 5.Financial issues When implementing the course MBA - Agribusiness" the Wageningen University and the Stavropol State Agrarian University agreed on the following calculation of costs in accordance with the terms of the agreement. Teaching RF teachers 7 modules 10.500 TOTAL 44.000 It has been decided to establish a fee of 2.000 Euro from the students for the first MBA course (2 years). For the following courses it is up to SSAU to decide on the fee for students. For the first MBA course the WU will pay for the travel, stay and fee of the international lecturers. For the second MBA course the SSAU will pay for international lecturers (travel, stay and local fee). The programme is implemented according to the principle of self-financing. Students pay tuition per semester. The program has its own account in the financial system of the university. 6. Involvement of the professor-teaching staff of local universities into the MBA programme Russian teachers of the course "MBA in agribusiness" are full-time teachers of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, mainly of the faculties of Economics, Accounting - Finance, as well as the one of the Technological Management. Specialists-practitioners of the Ministry of Agriculture and Agribusiness of the Stavropol Territory were also involved in delivering classes. Each module of the program is supported and receives consultations from the international academic staff. The major international support was provided by the University. 10

The teachers are Anna Volkogonova and Elena Kalugina. 14

7. Study process organization The program of the course is meant for 2 years. The course consists of 7 modules: I - VI - theoretical modules; VII - writing of the final graduation project. The program of each module is designed for 2 months and consists of several disciplines (Sections). Each module is made in such a way that it accounts for 60 hours of classroom training, 90 hours - to work independently and 10 hours - for the exam. The teaching modules are based on a wide variety of developed and recommended to read educational materials, as well as official Internet resources. Training materials are designed to provide a complete package of educational literature for the MBA course. The International Course MBA- Agribusiness " was organized as the parttime form of education that allows students to combine studies with their work. The individual work of students themselves, within one week of lectures for each module is carried out under the guidance of teachers and coordinators. During each training week an international team of coordinators actively assists students in the development of training materials and oversees the work of the group. The following interactive teaching methods are used: lectures, workshops, master classes, business games, case studies, "round tables, computer programmes. In the run of their independent work students use distance learning programme, which is available on the MBA web-site, they perform project assignments and prepare for the final test on the topic of the module. Practical lessons are built on problem solving tasks or performing project tasks associated with the management of agricultural production. Part of the assignments is given as an individual one in order to provide an objective assessment of the performance of the course student. 8. Material technical base During the training program, students have access to all training materials. For delivering the course the Stavropol SAU prepared and equipped 2 classrooms 15

with multimedia facilities, internet access and Wi-Fi. The available technology allows the use of a wide range of interactive educational technologies. eachers use a wide variety of teaching materials. Presentations supplement articles and analysis of specific situations in the classroom. For each module, there have been developed training manuals that can be downloaded from the site. The main tool to support the learning process and communication between students, teachers and managers is a distance learning system Moodle. Training materials and tests on an international MBA program in agribusiness are placed by teachers and are available at the following address: http://edu.stgau.ru. The general information about the program is available on the official website of the Stavropol State Agrarian University (http://stgau.ru/agrimba/), and on the website of the Institute of Additional Professional Education (http://idpo.stgau.ru/). 9. Certificate/ Diploma The certificate or diploma MBA in agribusiness" of the Wageningen University (Netherlands) and the State diploma of the Stavropol State Agrarian University in "Industrial Management" (the Russian Federation) is awarded to the graduate with the successful completion of six modules and defended diploma work and a Master thesis. In the case of the successful accreditation of the MBA programme, graduates receive an international diploma of AgriMBA. The samples of diploma and certificate are given in Appendix 1 and 2. 10.Course manual The course manual can be downloaded from: http://edu.stgau.ru and it is available for all students. It contains information about the rules and regulations to be observed by students who complete the course program and the description of the modules. The full version of the manual on the course is attached to the report. 16

11. Students enrollment The enrollment of students for the course MBA in agribusiness" was realized during the period from April to June 2012. During the enrollment the presentation of the program was carried out in the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory, agricultural conferences held at the University, as well as during the enrollment period for the Master degree program on "Industrial Management ". The first enrolled group consisted of 13 students. Among them there were heads of agricultural enterprises, corporate executives, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory, the staff of the Stavropol Territory. 9 people were admitted for the defense those who have successfully completed training in all modules of the programme. 12. Course evaluation The evaluation of teachers by students of the course was conducted upon completion of each module. This estimate was based on the following points: 1. How relevant is the theme of the course? 2. Are you personally interested in the topic of the course? 3. How much new information have you received? 4. Assess the personal interest of the teacher to this topic? 5. How well was the teacher prepared? 6. How well were material topics structured? 7. How relevant are the examples that were used by the teacher? 8. How well did the teacher answer questions of the audience? 9. Whether means of visual training the presentation board, handouts were used during the presentation of the theme? 10. How positive was the attitude of the teacher to trainees? 11. Has teacher proved to be an experienced and competent person? 12. Did the teacher organize the course of the lecture with the group discussion of the material presented? 17

13. How do you assess the contact the teacher established with the group as a whole and with individual students? 14. Would you like to continue working with this teacher? 15. Rate the quality of the individual teacher's methods. The evaluation of teachers work was exhibited in the range from 1 to 10 points. Thus, the range of integrative assessments (ratings, representing the sum of estimated points for every question of the survey) of teachers in the agribusiness MBA program may range from 15 to 150 points, which are the maximum rating.
