If you: have experienced financial disadvantage, are an Indigenous Australian, or, attend a Monash University under-represented school you will be eligible. Have you experienced financial disadvantage? Financial hardship during secondary school is one reason many students have difficulty reaching their full potential. Monash benefits from a diverse student body that includes Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. If you are an Indigenous Australian, and you meet the required, you will be eligible for the Monash. Do you attend a school that is under-represented at university? Monash has identified over 1000 schools across Australia as being underrepresented at university. We know that many students from these schools have the ability to succeed if they are given the opportunity to study at Monash. For the list of Monash under-represented schools see monash.edu/guaranteedentry Eligibility To be eligible for the Monash, you must: be studying Australian Year 12 or International Baccalaureate in 2015 satisfy the criteria for financial disadvantage, or attend a Monash listed under-represented school, or be an Indigenous Australian meet the guaranteed for your preferred course satisfy all course prerequisites and extra requirements such as the UMAT, a portfolio, interview or audition be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, holder of an Australian permanent resident or permanent humanitarian visa. What is an achieved? Your eligibility for the Monash is based on your achieved. This is the you are sent when results are released. How can I prove I am financially disadvantaged? There are three ways that you can demonstrate financial disadvantage: You receive a Centrelink benefit that is income tested (e.g. Youth Allowance or Abstudy). Your parents/guardian receive a Centrelink benefit that is income tested, including Family Tax Benefit A. You and/or your family may be facing financial hardship or excessive financial obligations but not receiving a Centrelink benefit (e.g. living on a farm suffering from drought or floods). Whatever your situation, you must provide evidence as part of your SEAS and scholarship applications. Your situation will be individually assessed by VTAC.
How it works The Monash applies to all Monash University school leaver entry degree courses, excluding scholars programs. Are you eligible for the Monash? Is your achieved at or above the published Monash for your preferred course? You may still be eligible for consideration through the Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS). Use the SEAS estimate calculator to understand how SEAS could assist you. monash.edu/seas/ Is your preferred course in Table A: -based selection? Is your preferred course in Table B: additional selection criteria? You are guaranteed an offer in this course, if you meet all course prerequisites. These courses have a range of selection criteria in addition to, e.g. interview or portfolio presentation. If you are successful in the other selection processes, you are guaranteed an offer. Is your preferred course in Table C: reserved places? These courses have places reserved for students eligible for the Monash. You are guaranteed consideration for these places. Offers will be made to students whose combined results, across the applicable range of criteria, are the strongest.

How to apply To apply for the Monash, you must: submit a VTAC course application and include your preferred Monash University courses in your preference list complete a Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) application including any required documentation complete a VTAC scholarship application. Vice-Chancellor s Access Monash Scholars If you are admitted through the Monash with an of 90+, you will be invited to join the Vice-Chancellor s Access Monash Scholars (VCAMS) program which includes a $1000 bursary and access to a range of activities to enhance your university experience. The Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) adjusts your based on the extent of the disadvantage you have experienced. Bonus points are added to your aggregate study score and your is then recalculated. This adjusted is used during course selection, increasing your change of receiving a Monash course offer. You should put the course that you want the most first on your preference list.
