Cavendish Aviation provides a range of services for the more discerning aircraft owner/operator. We recognise that aircraft ownership can be both demanding and expensive and have set out to improve the experience of aircraft ownership. What ever size or complex your aircraft we are here to assist you in ensuring your asset is protected and maintained correctly. Cavendish Aviation are here to help you through the journey of purchase, maintenance and disposal and all the upgrades in between.
Aerocoat Explained Aircraft paints degrade and oxidise because of exposure to UV over time as well as the minute surface defects caused by water and use. This results in loss of sheen, discolouration or both. Once an aircraft has reached this stage we know it has less performance, reduced responsiveness combined with declining fuel economy and a tired appearance. The traditional industry approach is to cut back the top surface using abrasive compounds to remove the dead and oxidised paint, then using an oil based sealant like wax polish to finish OR in many cases a large investment in respraying the aircraft. Are these products delivering anything useful? Are they delivering real protection and enhanced performance to what is a very important aspect of aircraft; the skin and surface to the air. Exposure to environment and overall look is important to the Aviation Industry at all levels of aircraft but particularly in the high end Private Aircraft where protection of a high value high tech asset is important. Are the waxes and polymers delivering in this aspect? What is worse, is that we have found that application of these products to modern aircraft paints will damage the top layer and remove the initial protection and whilst it may look glossy it is short lived and leaves irreversible damage.
Aerocoat Why have it done Aerocoat is a process not a single product and provides a high performance surface science using nano-composite materials. Smart Surface Technology (SST) has been extensively tested in extreme weather conditions by accredited laboratories and provides: Long term Gloss and Colour retention to new paint. Restores contaminated paint finishes to new performance with glass like appearance Provides hydrophobic qualities for resistance to water ingress / oxidation and insect impact Reduces boundary layer drag back to new aircraft performance or better. Highly resistant to UV attack. Changes Perspex to glass like hydrophobic material. Provides hard wearing scratch resistance coat. Oleophobic to keep underbelly areas clean from oil breather. A highly cost effective alternative to repaint. Surfaces are resistant to icing on leading edges.
Aerocoat The Process Prepare Inspection & measurement of existing surfaces. Establish GU Rating exposure and detailed washing and cleaning at nano level using special products to remove contamination and surface prep. Perfect Perfect the surface roughness and prepare the paint surface for Application in a controlled environment. Protect Hand applied specialist nano coating in controlled conditions over all surfaces, followed by hand applied special coating to the first 40% of leading edges, nacelle, Perspex areas and underbelly. Handover and release to service
Technical Reliabiltiy All pilot / owners of aircraft are concerned with this important part of aircraft ownership. EASA / CAA set out the minimum requirements for maintenance quality in the many parts of EASA 145 and CAP 766, but what about the manufacturers requirements and the Airworthiness Directives? 50 150 hour and annual checks are just that, a check of airworthiness and do not particularly address reliability, predictive failure or just plain common sense and good engineering practice. We go further, attending to any concerns during checks which may turn in to failure. At Cavendish Aviation we consider we have a duty of care to maintain aircraft to the highest quality down to the smallest screw but always good value. It is essential your aircraft is out of service for the minimum time during checks and we will work with you to minimize downtime. Why not try our Inspection and Aerocoat package returning your aircraft not just reliable but looking like new.
Avionics & Electronics Probably today the most important equipment a pilot needs is good communications and navigation aids. Constantly changing and expensive the electrical system, comms and navigation aids need to be reliable and Round-Dial or Glass we can, repair, upgrade or replace your equipment. Cavendish Aviation have the knowledge and connections to advise on the manufactuer for your needs utilizing all the popular brands we are ready to embrace the change to this fast moving element of aviation. The forth coming ADS B will mean a step change to GA just when we were getting used to Mode S. Talk to us about upgrades.
Brokerage If you are considering upgrading your aircraft and wish to sell we can prepare for sales and sell your aircraft on a brokerage basis. We also trade in aircraft and find aircraft for you, inspect and service. Our online trade store where you will be able to advertise your aircraft will be live in 2015. Our Non Equity or block purchase schemes are designed for the Aviator who has moved on to a better aircraft and is the first step in aircraft ownership. We run a concierge service for this during working hours and complete check A and prep for flight for you. In this way you are always flying a clean reliable aircraft.
