Senior housing - wprowadzenie «back to contents Senior housing Housing for seniors, usually those over 50. This type of dwellings / homes usually contains access to one or more amenities facilitating indepe-ndent and dignified life in advanced age (eg. meals, cleaning, care, transport, socializing, laundry, care-taking). Safe and long-term inve-stment form drawing increasing interest in the world coping with the issue of aging populations. Why is it worth discussing it? Why is it worth attending? Wprowadzenie oraz cele konferencji Within 20 years one of four citizens of Poland will be over 65 years. According to Central Statistics Office by 2060 there will be 3 working persons per 2 retired, and the number of people over 80 will be four to five times higher. Caring for seniors will increase till 1.1% of GDP, and total annual costs of health and social protection will amount to 15 billion EUR. During the coming decade Polish society will confront for the first time a situation, where senior citizens will be able to find for themselves appropriate housing solution. Large part of the active and healthy seniors will want to continue living separately and independently, but in special estates or homes facilitating their daily dignified existence. This is their needs we want to discuss and, as practitioners of real estate market, we want to address these needs.
