1 Goal 1: Ensure residents are being served by an efficient, cohesive and comprehensive delivery model. Strategic Objective: Investment in and support of community infrastructure and services that reflects our rate of growth and rural nature. 1. Voice Over IP System to enable all facilities to connect over internet for cost saving and internal communications Mostly Still have some issue with Fire Hall and emergency numbers. When internet is down so is our phone system. 2. Library Servicing to provide internal support services to the North Perth Library System for integration and cost savings. All costs have not been transferred to the Library Board: being phased in over time Library CEO Library Staff PCIN 3. Amalgamation of Mobile Communication to analyze current communication devices and streamline equipment and economies of scale and address Reduction in pagers 4. Mobile Devices for Council to research devices and recommend products and pricing to accommodate electronic Council Meeting packages with escribe and to provide some technical support for new users Clerk New devices will be considered with each new council
2 5. Replace 10 Computer Units desktop and laptop upgrades with new operating software 6. Mobile Communications RFP to take advantage of the new Vendor of Record parameters established by the Province which provided an improved service package 7. Contract Support to circulate a RFP for network support contractor 8. IT Staffing Report to review and evaluate current and future staff needs for Technology Services Goal 1 - Measuring Our Performance: High Director of Director of Management Team Each year 10 units will be replaced to keep current technology in place for all operations Council Approved In Progress Bell provided a competitive bid to Rogers as VOR 2015 Current support has not been meeting our needs 2017 Technology is steadily more integrated into daily operations and therefore increasingly more vital to our organization VOIP complete Library Servicing implementation complete except for costing transfers Streamlined devices and retained current Bell service package Purchasing and deployment of 10 computer units with operating software RFP for Mobile Communication devices IT Staffing Report for Council
3 Goal 2: Create an environment that supports and engages a diverse range of local businesses. Strategic Objective: A heightened level of business activity in the Municipality, with increased employment and diversity in the type of available positions. 1. Connectivity PW Water Tower rental to various communication companies has equipment that could be better maintained in a dryer location and will be part of the municipality s effort to create a new location for this equipment and our own; all parties benefit and share the costs High PW CBO Various Companies Initial Discussion Currently trying to establish a location near the water tower and contact the companies for input into the project Goal 2 Measuring Our Performance:
4 Goal 3: Ensure the sustainability of our infrastructure with strong planning and execution of capital infrastructure initiatives. Support and initiate Municipal Leadership Programs identified in the Strategic and Community Improvement Plans. Strategic Objective: Develop and lead capital infrastructure initiatives that reflect community needs, sustainable planning and a commitment to fiscal responsibility. 1. Server Enhancement to meet internal demands for space and new technologies. Looking to relocate the server room to accommodate better space for servicing the racks and for additional equipment in the future 2.
