2 Contents The Executive M.B.A. Program in North America is housed in the University of Chicago Gleacher Center, which is located between the Equitable Building and NBC Tower, just east of Michigan Avenue and Tribune Tower, on the north bank of the Chicago River at 450 North Cityfront Plaza Drive, Chicago, Illinois Gleacher Center is also home to the Graduate School of Business Evening and Weekend Programs as well as the nondegree Executive Education Programs office. 7 Guidelines for Building Use tests, publications, and databases are some of the services offered by OACCA. Building Hours Hours: 7 a.m. 10:45 p.m. Monday Friday 7 a.m. 6:45 p.m. Saturday Graham School of General Studies (Concourse Level) The University s Graham School of General Studies offers three types of programs: Professional Education, with The building is closed Sundays and holidays. Hours may vary between terms. seminars for executives and organizations; Higher Education, for faculty members from colleges and universities; and Liberal Education, with noncredit courses in various fields and credit status for adults as graduate students-at-large (GSAL). Instructors are drawn primarily from the university academic community, and the majority of students are postcollegiate adults. Many corporations hold workshops or seminars for their staff in Gleacher Center. While it is assumed that all Chicago GSB students will demonstrate professional behavior and good judgment at all times, we do want to take this opportunity to remind you of business protocol. Please do not help yourself to beverages or food set up for other users. Please do not study in areas that have been reserved for a specific group. The sixth floor is a conference center floor and is not available as a study space. Please do not approach or distribute copies of your resume to participants of corporate workshops or other such events. Conference Center Housed in Gleacher Center is the GSB Conference Center, offering over 50,000 square feet of flexible conference space spanning six floors, with dedicated conference space on the sixth floor. Facilities include thirteen interactive amphitheaters; two boardrooms; six reception lounges; four executive meeting rooms; sixteen breakout/ Smoking Policy Smoking is prohibited in the building. seminar rooms; computer training room; auditorium/ film screening room; and dining space. 8 The following services for Evening and Weekend M.B.A. students are handled by the Transaction Desk: tuition Hours: 10 a.m. 6:30 p.m. Monday Friday 8:30 a.m. 4:30 p.m. Saturday payment via credit card; miscellaneous forms drop-off; and pick-up of all forms (e.g., graduation packets, Pass/ Bookstore hours will be extended during peak times. Fail requests, Incomplete forms, etc.). The parking stamp validation machine is located on the counter outside the Transaction Desk. Hours: 4 p.m. 10 p.m. Monday Thursday 4 p.m. 9 p.m. Friday 8 a.m. 4:30 p.m. Saturday Business Center (Concourse Level, Room 11) The Business Center is operated by the University s Printing Services Department. Its services include fullservice copying, full-color copies, laminating, fax services, slide reproduction, and secretarial services. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Call for more information. Computer Lab (Lobby Level) The Computer Lab is equipped with PCs and printers. Any program accessed on the Hyde Park campus may be accessed from Gleacher Center Computer Lab. For lab Executive M.B.A. Program (Third Floor, Suite 340) Executive M.B.A. Program students meet all day on hours, visit the Computing Services Web site at Fridays and Saturdays. During this time, the third-floor north lounge is reserved exclusively for the use of the Executive M.B.A. Program. Even though the lounge may be empty during certain times of the day on Fridays and Saturdays, non-executive M.B.A. Program students should refrain from using the lounge during this reserved time. Copy Machines Copy machines are located in the library, second- and third-floor south lounges, and on the Concourse Level. The machines are coin-operated. They also accept copy cards, which may be purchased at the card machine in the library. Services Offered Kenneth G. Fisher Library (Lobby Level) The Kenneth G. Fisher Library s Career Management Bookstore (Lobby Level) The University of Chicago Gleacher Center Bookstore is a branch of the Campus Bookstore, with an emphasis on business and economic references and materials. The store is open to the general public, as well as to students, faculty, and staff. The bookstore carries textbooks and other class materials, general books, newspapers, magazines, office supplies, and gift items such as sweatshirts, Collection is designed to provide career related resources to all members of the GSB community. It also serves as a complement to the resources at the Career Services Library on campus. The resources address various career issues, such as self-assessment, career management and job search strategies. Many materials provide function- or industry-specific information and firm listings. Security is available during the building hours of 7 a.m. to 10:45 p.m. Monday through Friday; 7 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. Saturday. Food Service Cityfront Cafe (second floor, north lounge) Serving sandwiches, salads, mini pizzas, muffins, bagels, beverages, etc. Hours: 3 p.m. 8:15 p.m. Monday Thursday 4 p.m. 8 p.m. Friday 8 a.m. 3 p.m. Saturday Study Group Rooms There are twelve group study rooms throughout the building (three on the concourse level; three in the library on the lobby level; two on the second floor; two on the third floor; and two on the fourth floor) for use by registered Graduate School of Business M.B.A. students only. The study group rooms are intended for group study only. Lockers Airport style luggage lockers are located on the lobby level. The lockers are intended for the storage of personal belongings while students are in class. Items remaining Individual study should take place in the computer lab, library, or lounges. The GSB reserves the right to restrict the use of study group rooms at certain times to certain groups. in lockers at the end of the day will be removed and discarded. Rules On Usage 1. Rooms are accessible for student use Monday through Saturday from building opening until one-half hour before the building s published closing time. 6. No eating or drinking is permitted in the study rooms. Key Checkout Procedures To receive a room key, the student/group must: 1. Complete the log sheet at the security desk and leave their UCID card. If a student does not have a UCID card, the security desk will call the program office to confirm the student s status. 2. If the room key is not returned or any other abuse of privileges takes place, building security will record the student s name on a violation log and notify the program office. The matter will then be handled accordingly. Repeat offenders may lose study room privileges for up to two quarters.
