This year s theme is Santa s Workshop Toys! Please complete this form and return it to the parade committee by Friday, November 6, We appreciate your cooperation as we want to ensure your entry is properly presented. Permission, Media Consent & Waiver: We hereby grant The Courtice Santa Claus Parade Volunteers the right and permission to use pictures, film footage and interviews of our group for the purpose of promoting the Courtice Santa Claus Parade. The undersigned agrees that we have read and understand the Entry Form and acknowledge that we have read the rules and hereby agree to abide by them. We agree that neither the Municipality of Clarington, the Courtice Santa Claus Parade Volunteers nor any agent, employee or volunteer of either assumes any responsibility for any personal injury or property damage suffered in connection with the Parade howsoever caused (including negligence and excepting only wilful misconduct) and agree to release and hold harmless such parties from any such claims for injury or damage. 4 2015 Courtice Santa Claus Parade Date of Parade: Sunday, December 6 th at 12pm Parade Entry Deadline is Friday, November 6 th, 2015 Pre-Parade Information Meeting is Sunday, November 29 th, 2015, 2:00pm RULES All Participants: 1. Completed Entry Forms including signed Permission, Media Consent & Waiver must be received by Friday, November 6, No Santa Claus replica may be part of any entry other than the Official Santa Claus Parade Float. 3. All Entries must be based upon a holiday theme and entertaining to a family audience, primarily of children. 4. Float height restriction is 3.35 metres (11 feet) from the ground to the top of the display. 5. No horses are permitted to participate in the Parade. 6. All Parade Entries MUST provide proof of liability insurance in the amount of $2 million. The Certificate of Insurance format should name The Courtice Santa Claus Parade Volunteers as additional insured. 7. Each mascot walking in the parade MUST have at least one handler. 8. All floats carrying passengers are required to be constructed with safety railing around the float perimeter or all float passengers MUST be seated while vehicle is in motion. 9. Where a float will utilize a combustible fuel powered generator, or other possible fire hazard, participants MUST supply an appropriate fire extinguisher on their vehicle. 10. Demonstrations or performances are to remain in a forward motion (approximate speed is 3km/hr). All entries MUST maintain spacing no less than 15 metres (approx 50 feet) and no more than 30 metres (approx 100 feet) behind the preceding unit and regulate their speed accordingly. 11. Any entrant considered to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be removed from the parade and all participants in the parade shall not be consuming or giving the impression of consuming alcoholic beverages. 12. All parade participants shall refrain from smoking during their participation in the parade. 13. For safety reasons, candy may be given out, hand-to-hand delivery from the street level, NOT thrown from the floats. 14. Participants must ride on the inside of the float. No one is to sit on the edge of the float trailer with feet dangling over the sides. It is strongly recommended that children be securely seated and supervised on the floats. 15. A detailed drawing or photograph must accompany all motorized or mechanical entrants. An entry may be refused up to the start of the Parade should the entry not meet Parade guidelines or differ from the approved entry form. 16. All entries will be notified in mid November of their Parade Status/Approval.
