3 Preface For 20 years the power of light and its positive effects have been the key thought behind Innojok. Good light, functionality and stylish Finnish design are features shared by all of our products. Innojok s business is based on light solutions that genuinely benefit people s everyday lives. We have renewed our brand strategy and visual look in connection with our 20th anniversary celebration. The logos for Innosol and Innolux Design are now discarded, and the brand will be simplified by transforming it into the Innolux logo and look. The catalogue you are reading right now is presenting this new Innolux look. There are now three Innolux collections of luminaires. This catalogue covers the Pro Collection with options and solutions for professionals of the illumination business demanding different technical solutions, energy-efficiency and interior decorating. The options for tailored solutions suiting various projects are nearly unlimited. The Design and Bright Collections have a catalogue of their own. The Design Collection also includes design luminaires, created by Finnish designers, providing, stylish and excellent illumination. The Bright Collection consists of multifunctional bright light devices promoting overall wellbeing where they are used. At the time of this landmark of 20 years in business, Innojok has over 20 employees, more than 20 designers and over 20 sub-suppliers. We all feel proud of ourselves, of our knowhow and our achieve. 4 Innojok Innojok, which was founded in 1993, is a company specialising in luminaires. The extensive collection consists of design lamps and outdoor luminaires created through our own product development and are perfectly suited for professional use. Innojok is a Finnish company. We do product development, sales, marketing and warehousing in Finland. Most of our products are produced in Finland. The office and show room are located in the Kurkimäki district in Helsinki while our logistics centre and own production facilities are located in Kerava on the outskirts of Helsinki. Apart from the Pro Collection, the Innolux luminaire collection comprises the Design and Bright Collections. Those of our products that are produced in Finland are entitled to use the Key Flag Symbol that is used to promote Finnish work. The customers and users are the starting point The Innolux products are designed for people and their vision. Light from the Innolux luminaires is non-glaring and appealing. The technical solutions of the products are designed so that it will be possible to customize the effect of each to suit any particular purpose and task. Easy and fast installation is a key feature in the design of the products. In collaboration with their customers Innojok has developed and realized more than 2,000 luminaire solutions for public spaces, such as assisted living facilities, restaurants, schools, kindergartens and fitness rooms. The company has also its own research and development unit. Energy-efficient and high level LED modules Innojok stresses energy-efficiency in its product development right from the very beginning. The LED plafonds are the most energy-efficient alternative in the plafond collection. They are a long-term luminaire solution thanks to their high-level LED modules that may easily be replaced when required. Innojok is only using high-level, reputable producers components in their plafonds. These LED plafonds light up quickly and easily withstand frequent switching on and off. The plafonds are equally suited for locations inaccessible and with low temperatures as well. They are available in models with a colour temperature of either 3,000 or 4,000 kelvins. Technology meets domestic design The Innolux Pro Collection includes luminaires designed by known and honoured Finnish designers like Yki Nummi, Lisa Johansson-Pape and Eero Aarnio. The luminaires in this collection have been awarded the Red Dot Design Award and the Wallpaper Design Award. Due to the company s internal product development, it has been possible to fit the collection s design lamps with energy-efficient LED and fluorescent lamp solutions. Innojok is, together with their families, cherishing the new production of the luminaires of Yki Nummi and Lisa Johansson- Pape. From an extensive original production to a new production line, the most interesting and high quality luminaires may be selected. Innojok has registered the names of Yki Nummi and Lisa Johansson-Pape as trademarks. In addition, Innojok has protected the trade names of Yki Nummi s lamps, Modern Art and Lokki. 8 JASMINA Innolux Jasmina provides functional and quality light for people. Jasmina satisfies the challenging vision ergonomics and provides a pleasantly balanced and efficient illumination wherever it may be needed. Due to the shallow, opalescent hemisphere, the luminance of the lamp is low and without glare. Thanks to the wide selection, the Jasmina product line offers an energy-efficient and high-quality luminaire solution for different purposes in homes and public spaces. Innolux Jasmina is light-weight, but enduring. It has been designed to take Finnish installation habits into account, so mounting on the ceiling box is quick and easy thanks to the two key hole slots and the bayonet s. The hemisphere is easily attached and removed because of the revolving metal mountings. Jasmina is equipped with reliable electronic components. Quality light s are delivered together with the luminaire. The sizes 350 mm and 435 mm are available with LED light s that are more energy-efficient and last longer than before. The Jasmina LED instantly lights up, and it easily withstands frequent switching on and off, which means that it is a good solution for places like corridors and inaccessible locations. The luminosity of these lamps is customizable for special projects. The LED modules are made in Finland. The modules may easily be replaced whenever needed. Jasmina is also available as a pendant luminaire by request. The Merina offers an energy-efficient and high-quality lighting solution for different purposes in homes and public spaces. Sara is light-weight, but robust, so even the smaller models are easy to install. The lamp is also suited for low ceiling spaces. The lamp is delivered with a 3,000 kelvins fluorescent lamp. 10 PAMELA Innolux Pamela is a general lamp with a splash-proof plastic hemisphere for wet spaces. The lamp fits in bathrooms, hobby rooms and as outdoor lightning (with enclosure protection IP44). The opalescent hemisphere lamp provides plenty of light, but without glare. 11 Pendant lamps The pendant lamps of the Innolux Design Collection are easily tailored to various project purposes: For instance, the effect and components of the luminaire may be modified, such as the colour and material. It is also possible to design completely new luminaires for particular projects. MULTI Innolux Multi is a multifunctional and technically advanced pendant luminaire for homes, offices, meeting rooms and health care premises. Thanks to the patented spinning mechanism, the luminaire may be transformed from a general luminaire providing indirect light into a luminaire providing efficient direct light. When used as a general light, the luminaire reflects light indirectly via the ceiling. It also provides direct light through the two perforated stripes in the frame. The suspended Multi has three different effect options. All models are equipped with electronic ballast ensuring vibration-free light. The luminaires are as standard equipped with light s, suspension wires and pull switch. The suspended Multi may be used as a bright light device for example in coffee rooms because the downlight is sufficient for the required illuminance of 2,500 lux. 650/950/ When the Innolux Multi 2 55 W is placed about cm from a white ceiling, the ceiling will maintain the surface luminosity at an appealing level of 1,000 1,500 cd/m². 12 UUSIKAUPUNKI Innolux Uusikaupunki is a pendant T5 luminaire made for direct and indirect lighting. Uusikaupunki is particularly suitable for offices and meeting rooms. In living rooms, the luminaire may fit very well above the dining table. The lamp frame is made of powder-coated steel sheet and the ends are injection-moulded plastic. The downlight model has a low luminance grid efficiently reducing downlight glare. An adequate suspension height is at least 40 cm from the ceiling. The luminaire has an electronic ballast and wire suspension. The and models are fitted with a pull switch, enabling up- and downlight to be switched on and off individually. The lamp frame is made of powder-coated steel sheet. The reflection and low luminance grids are of satin anodized aluminium. The uplight model has a plastic dust cover. The wire suspension on the luminaire is easily adjusted. Thanks to its design, Innolux Napoli is suitable for row installations. The luminaire has two different frame widths pending on the choice of effect. The luminaire is also available in a dimming model. The luminaire lights the wall surfaces below in a non-glaring way, through the perforation. At the same time, 80% of the light is reflected into the room via the ceiling as an appealing general light. A suitable installation height is about cm from the ceiling. When the luminaire is installed with the light opening upwards, it will provide indirect light via the ceiling. By installing the luminaire upside down, it is turned into a downlight version. The Inko luminaire is capable of creating interesting illumination, because the light is also directed through the narrow light perforation in the opposite direction. The stylish luminaire is particularly suitable in corridors and hallways. With the Inko luminaire, you may achieve impressive lighting, when the direction of the light is changed. That also enables variation and rhythm. The luminaire is installed in the wall outlet. It is also possible to do the wiring to the luminaire as surface mounting thereby enabling chain coupling. The cable inlet is on the back of the luminaire, which means in the side without a direct light opening. In that way the distribution of luminous intensity is not disturbed by surface cabling. 14 AINO The Innolux Aino wall lamp suits demanding design places. The lamp may also be used as part of a guide system, for instance by fixing a room or some other sign on the lampshade. The luminance of the opalescent hemisphere is small, so the lamp is without glare. The lamp has an upper and lower light opening, so the lamp provides a beautiful light on the wall surface. The lamp is available in two different models, a rectangular and a conic one. As standard equipment the luminaire has a coupling cable with a switch. 28 Light and light s There are two definitions of light: There is perceptible light. Light is also defined as part of the magnetic radiation that is observable by the human eye. In addition to the fact that light enables us to see it also promotes our wellbeing. Light s The most common light s are incandescent, halogen, fluorescent, multimetal, mercury, high-pressure sodium and LED lamps. When choosing the lamp type and light, it is worth paying attention to the colour of the light, colour rendering features, durability, energy efficiency and price. Colour temperature of the light The unit of colour temperature is Kelvin (with the unit symbol K). The higher the value is the whiter and further on the bluer, or the colder, the light is. The measuring scale is based on the hues of the black iron ball (often also referred to as the black body) in various temperatures. In a temperature of 300 kelvins, the ball is black and radiates pure heat. In a temperature of 800 kelvins, the iron ball is red, in the temperature of 4,000 kelvins it is white, and in the temperature of 20,000 kelvins it is blue. The colour temperature of the incandescent lamp is 2,850 kelvins. The typical colour temperatures of fluorescent lamps are 2,700 8,800 kelvins. Typically, fluorescent lamps of 3,000 or 4,000 kelvins are used in Finland. Light s of over 5,000 kelvins are called daylight lamps. The fluorescent-hued incandescent lamps are called warm-hued light s. In order for us to perceive the luminaire as appealing, the colour temperature of the light and the illuminance should match. In luminaires normally used (under lux), the warm hues are perceived as natural. When using strong illuminances (more than 1,000 lux), the cold hues are natural. The colour rendering index of the light The general colour rendering index (Ra) is in the numerical value of The higher the value, the more natural the colours are rendered. The colour temperature and colour rendering index are independent of each other, so daylight lamps do not necessarily guarantee good colour rendering ability. When selecting a light, it should be ensured that it has the right colour rendering capability for the purpose. In home and office lighting it is generally sufficient to use lamps with a colour rendering index above 80. Halogen lamps The halogen lamps have a short filament and often a small diffuser.
