9 HEALTH CENTRE at UCSC The UCSC Health Centre (CENTRO SANITARIO) provides all registered students with medical care, nursing care and psychological counselling. Access is free, no appointment is necessary. Opening hours (nursing staff): Monday to Friday, 9 am pm General practioners: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9am to 5pm; Tuesday and Friday from 1pm to 5 pm.

33 PRINT-OUT & PHOTOCOPIES You can print from the computer available at the 3 rd floor of UCSC building in via Carducci; Buy the card at IAO for 5. Each copy costs 0,08 (circa 60 copie) You can use the same card to make photocopies. The copy machine is at the ground floor and 1 st floor UCSC building in via Carducci; Recharge the card at Ufficio Fotoriproduzioni (main building in L.go Gemelli, edificio Gregorianum, next to main Library)

34 COMPUTERS & WIRELESS UCSC provides wi-fi connection in many areas of the campus. Click here ( to check where the wi-fi connection is available. Activate your wi-fi on your computer and search for the network named wifi-unicatt. Your login and password are the same as your account. Every month there are several PC rooms available on campus for UCSC students. You have to show your UCard to access the room. Click here ( to check the updated list. The PCs you find on the 3 floor of Carducci building are always available and no authentication is required.

39 MAIL/PACKAGES Receiving packages from non-e.u. countries can cost a lot in terms of taxes. Postal & customs taxes are very high depending on the weight and the value of the package s content. Please note that if you are going to get packages delivered to our office this is the procedure you are required to follow: 1. Inform us that you are expecting a package at our office and the estimate delivery date. 2. Since our office is not authorized to keep cash money you are kindly requested to leave us the amount you are supposed to pay at least a couple of days before the foreseen delivery date. Please note that if you don't respect this procedure, the International Student Services will not accept the package and it will be sent back to the central post office (close to Linate Airport).

42 A few words on safety You will likely be and feel very safe in and immediately around campus and the downtown area. There are just a few places we would recommend that you be careful and most particularly attentive to your belongings. Train stations (Central Station, Cadorna, Lambrate, etc.) and underground stations and TRAINS are target areas for thieves and pickpockets. Make sure your backpack is properly closed; your money and ID documents are inaccessible or invisible to anybody. You may want to keep your passport, credit cards, etc., separate from your cash. If you take your passport and other sensitive documents, we suggest you keep them in a money belt on you and not in your purse, backpack, etc. Remember that it is not a good idea to be out alone at night and take precautions
