It is in a lively neighbourhood of small businesses, art galleries and studios, clubs and restaurants.

6 Supporting your needs Learning Resource Centre The Learning Resources Centre provides access to a wide range of services and resources for our students whilst studying with the University. Students will have access to online resources including e-books and e-journals. Information Services The IT suite is tailored to student needs with the latest Microsoft Software (Windows 7, Office 2010) running on brand new hardware. In addition to the PCs on site there is full coverage for wireless internet access throughout the campus. Students will also receive access to their own TSD account (Microsoft) and our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), Moodle, provides students with access to lecture notes, slides, podcasts and discussion groups. Support for students will be also provided via our centrally managed Service Desk which can be contacted by phone or via . Classrooms Every classroom has wireless internet access, and is equipped with a video projector, DVD player and audio system. The classrooms are designed to accommodate 25 to 50 students comfortably. Student Services The University s Student Services department provides a professional support service including high quality information, advice and guidance, practical and emotional support to enable all students to reach their full potential. It will also equip students with the skills and knowledge to conduct advanced research into a variety of issues within the context of arts management, whilst focussing on the dynamic relationship between the world of arts administration and business practice. The MBA is aimed at producing practiceled, creative, flexible and dynamic individuals, who can take up professional or enhanced roles as business practitioners in the arts environment in the UK or overseas. Sustaining the Arts: Policies and Funding Understanding the Arts Organisation MBA Banking and Finance The MBA Banking and Finance provides the academic and practical skills necessary to develop and reflect on high level bank and financial management issues which will be applicable across a wide range of financial situations, financial markets and financial organizations. It will also equip students with the skills and knowledge to conduct advanced research into a variety of financial management issues whilst focusing on the interrelationship of financial management and organisational performance. Corporate Finance Banking Financial Management and Financial Markets MBA Entrepreneurship This MBA is aimed at students who might want to apply entrepreneurial approaches in both profit and not for profit organisations, in small or large organisations, and at global or local levels. Student might also be planning to own their own entrepreneurial venture at some stage in their career. The MBA Entrepreneurship provides students with the opportunity to develop an academic understanding of the current debates in the field of entrepreneurship. This will include the review, development and reflection of a range of high level entrepreneurial capabilities and competences that are relevant in both intrapreneurial and entrepreneurial situations, in all types of organization contexts. This programme provides the academic and practical skills necessary to develop and reflect on high level human resource management skills and competences which will be applicable across a wide range of situations, sectors and organizations. It will focus on the strategic interrelationship of human resource management and organisational performance both nationally and internationally. Managing People Managing Performance MBA Information Management The MBA Information Management is aimed at students who may aspire to a career or role in information management. The programme provides the academic and practical skills necessary to develop and reflect on high level information management issues which will be applicable across a wide range of situations, sectors and organizations. It will also equip students with the skills and knowledge to conduct advanced research into a variety of information management issues whilst focusing on the interrelationship of information management and organisational performance. e-business Strategy Business Decision Making MBA International Tourism management This programme provides the academic and practical skills necessary to develop students ability to apply knowledge and understanding of business and management to complex issues in order to improve business and management practice within the tourism industry. This MBA is aimed at students who may aspire to a career or role in leadership and general management and administration in the UK or overseas Critical Leadership Studies Implementing Coaching and Mentoring MBA Marketing The MBA Marketing is for anyone deeply interested in all aspects of marketing, as well as those who may aspire to a career or role in positions such as marketing manager, brand manager, market research analyst, and new product manager. Students with strong financial skills could seek a career in strategic or market related planning, whilst there may also be opportunities as sales manager, advertising manager, public relations director, and marketing communications manager. International Marketing Digital Marketing MBA Social Entrepreneurship This programme provides students with the opportunity to develop an academic understanding of the current debates in the field of social entrepreneurship. This will include the review, development and reflection of a range of high level entrepreneurial capabilities and competences that are relevant in various not for profit situation. Social entrepreneurship is a relatively new discipline and this MBA looks at the discipline from a wide perspective, so as to also include relevant academic debates from social enterprise and corporate social entrepreneurship. Students will develop the necessary skills and knowledge to conduct advanced research into a variety of social entrepreneurial issues whilst focusing on the role and impact of social entrepreneurship at local, regional and international levels. This MBA is aimed at students who might want to apply social entrepreneurial approaches in a variety of settings. 10 MBA General Management This programme focuses on developing and reflecting on those high level management skills and competences which will be applicable across a wide range of situations, sectors and organisations. Students learn the principles and skills which help managers to maximise the potential of organisational resources to achieve shared goals. It also equips students with the skills and knowledge to conduct advanced research into a variety of organisational and leadership issues whilst focusing on the interrelationship of leadership and organisational performance. Potential careers and advancement opportunities include management roles in Business, Human Resource Management and international workforce development, international business contexts including business entrepreneurship and regional development, Education, Health services development, Public Service and elsewhere. Depending on the choice of modules, students have the choice of the award of: MBA General Management (Corporate Finance) MBA General Management (International Marketing) MBA General Management (International Business) Optional module Corporate Finance or International Business or International Marketing 10

11 How to apply Apply online through the following web page: Documents required accompanying the application form Please ensure that you enclose the following with your completed application form: Copy of Passport Copies of academic qualifications Copy of evidence of English language level (IELTS or equivalent scores) Copies of evidence of work experience (If any) Contact details of two references (at least one must be from an academic) MBA Entry criteria 1. Minimum of a good 2:2 UK first degree or an equivalent international qualification recognised by UK NARIC or work experience of five years at a senior managerial level in lieu of first degree. 2. English language proficiency at or exceeding an average IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent in any other approved test), with no score less than 5.5 in any components of the test. 3. Normally work experience of two years or more at a managerial or supervisory level is expected. English Language Requirements International students applying to study will be required to show evidence of sufficient command of the English language to enable them to follow their course and apply for a visa. Students who have studied in nonmajority, English-speaking countries (as defined on the UKBA s website) are required to provide evidence that they have achieved specified levels of competence in English through undertaking an approved Secure English Language test (SELT) that is assessed against the Council of Europe s Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) for Language Learning. The most common form of test used by the University is the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) but others can be acceptable and examples are given on the UKBA s website. It should be noted here that the University s language requirements for direct entry to its degree courses are of a higher standard than those required by the UKBA for the issue of a UK study visa. Where applicants exceed the UKBA s minimum language requirements but do not achieve the University s required standards, academic induction programme can be considered. MBA English Language Requirements For direct entry to a Postgraduate Taught degree course, applicants from non-majority English-speaking countries (as defined by the UKBA) must show evidence of English language proficiency at or exceeding an average IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent in any other approved test), with no score less than 5.5 in any components of the test. 11
