College of the North Atlantic is Newfoundland and Labrador s public college. We offer over 100 programs at 17 different campus locations throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, along with a growing number of Distributed Learning opportunities. We believe everyone deserves access to a high-quality education, meaning we pride ourselves on affordable tuition cost (an amazingly low $726 per semester) and a first-come, first-served application process. Every year over 3,000 students proudly leave our classrooms and begin their journey into the workforce. 3 Academics We all have to start somewhere. Strengthen your knowledge and skills here, allowing further exploration and success in post-secondary programs down the road. Aboriginal Bridging As an aboriginal, bridge the educational gap and succeed in another CNA program of your choosing. Comprehensive Arts and Science (CAS) College Transition Whether you don t meet the entrance requirements for a program or you need a refresher in a certain subject area, the CAS Transition program may be suitable for you. Comprehensive Arts and Science (CAS) Transfer: College-University Complete your first year of university at CNA, transferring straight into year two at Memorial. English as a Second Language (ESL) Complete courses in listening, speaking, reading and writing. All courses are offered at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. TOEFL preparation is also available. College of the North Atlantic offers a range of support services for students with documented disabilities, either physical or mental. Student Development Officers (SDOs) provide students with a wide range of services from student government to peer tutoring, Student Aid and all points in between. College can be overwhelming, but SDOs are there to help with that transition.

10 Distributed Learning Have a life and an education. Study over 250 courses in a wide range of program areas without ever leaving home it s that simple. Some learners do not have easy access to college classrooms. The college s Distributed Learning service (DL) serves these learners with a growing array of college programs and more than 250 credit courses delivered through web-based e-learning. Online learning removes barriers of geography and time to provide flexibility, collaboration and interactivity. Students appreciate the quality and benefits of online learning: 90 per cent of recent survey respondents said they would recommend their DL course to a friend. 11 Apply to CNA When can I apply? Applicants can apply on the first day of grade 12 (level III). So, think new clothes, school supplies and then CNA. Applications can be submitted online, via fax, mail or in person at any one of our 17 campuses. Official transcripts must also accompany your application. Visit Do awesome grades = guaranteed acceptance? Not exactly. We believe everyone deserves access to a high-quality education. That s why we have a firstcome, first-served policy for many of our programs. In these programs students are admitted into a program based on the date their application was received, providing entrance requirements are met. So, apply early as some programs fill up quickly. Some programs do have a competitive entry process, so be sure to check our online calendar for the most up-to-date details. I don t meet the entrance requirements. Can I still apply? Applicants who do not meet the entrance requirements may be considered for admission on an individual basis provided they meet the following criteria: are at least 19 years of age at the time of application have been out of high school for at least one year present a certified copy of grades for the highest educational level attained. complete the Canadian Adult Achievement Test (CAAT) Of course if none of these work for you, you can still apply to the Comprehensive Arts and Science (CAS) College Transition program to meet entrance requirements and ensure a seat in your program of choice. CNA is concerned about your success. Take the pre-enrollment assessments before even beginning a program to determine if you are headed in the right direction. Meet with a faculty advisor for guidance and assistance at any time throughout your program. Build toward a successful career, beginning with a solid foundation at CNA.
