5 LANDFILL GAS PLANTS We generate energy from landfill gas Asja is a major player in the international scenario of power generation from landfill gas generated at municipal solid waste (MSW) landfill sites. 5

15 MOROCCO: AGRICULTURAL & AGRO-INDUSTRIAL RESIDUES ANAEROBIC DIGESTION PLANTS Agricultural and agro-industrial residues can be used as sources of energy by means of the anaerobic digestion process. Agriculture is a key sector for Morocco s economy. 17 MOROCCO: BIOGAS FROM URBAN WASTES LANDFILL GAS PLANTS Landfill biogas plant With the urban population growing at 2,85% per year and per capita consumption increasing, municipal solid waste management has become one of the most serious environmental challenges in urban areas. The Morocco government has planned to manage this emergency through the PNDM *, a national municipal solid waste management program ( ). Asja, thanks to its 20 years of experience in design, construction and management of landfill gas plants, can contribute significantly to the safety of the landfill, reducing harmful and greenhouse gas emissions and producing electric and thermal energy. * Programme National de Gestion des déchets ménagers et assimilés 17
