2 TRINITY VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE Prospective Student, You are about to embark on the first step towards a rewarding career in the Cosmetology industry. We are excited that you have chosen TVCC and look forward to your personal interview and acceptance into our program. The Trinity Valley Community College Cosmetology program features the Milady Cosmetology Curriculum, which covers all aspects of the cosmetology industry. This program is designed to prepare students to become licensed cosmetologists. Students learn theory and basic skills necessary to pass the Texas state board examination for licensure, set forth by Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations. Graduates of the Cosmetology Program are qualified to work in hair, nail and skin care. There are many avenues in the Cosmetology industry, including owning and operating your own salon, working as a sales representative for cosmetic companies, managing large salons or becoming an educator for product manufacturers. Others choose to be a beauty or fashion consultant or become a Cosmetology instructor to teach students how to reach their career goals in this field. The career opportunities for the licensed cosmetologist are both versatile and personally rewarding. The Cosmetology Program is a full-time program and consists of 3 college semesters which include Fall, Spring and Summer. New students are taken in the Fall (August) and Spring (January) semesters only.
